Less than 1 year of use

Buy something else
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nothing wrong with it, but don’t buy for $250. It’s essentially the same price as an open-box 240hz monitor.

Not 144 it’s 60
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had it only for 6 months and there’s already smt wrong it says that it’s 144 hrtz which is a lie it’s only 60. You can change it to what ever you want like 120-180 and I had mine on 144 and something bad happened to it. I didn’t realize it was 60 till it started glitching and by the time it was too late the screen won’t work

Focus on the screen, not the flair
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this monitor to replace an older HP monitor that I was using, I have a station that I use for work but I will double down and use the space for some gaming after hours. My previous monitor was good, but it was much more work oriented and not gaming. The HP - X24ih is a beauty however! The one thing I love about this monitor is the fact that it is on par with some of the budget friendly gaming monitors, but this keeps the design suitable for a work space. This monitor is fairly simple, one HDMI, one Display Port and a 3.5mm jack. I use the display port for work I have used the HDMI for whichever games I have been currently playing. Comparing it to my old monitor this one blows it away, it's amazing how far budget friendly monitors have grown in a couple years. I can not only happily work, but I am no longer sacrificing my gaming. For a monitor this size, the display inputs are what you would expect, the 3.5mm jack is a nice improvement, a USB hub in the future would take this monitor one step further as that's one of the main things missing when compared to "gaming monitors" when simply referring to inputs. The other thing to note is this monitor is only freesync compatible, which isn't really a negative, as most monitors will support one or the other. Just know that this is supports Radeon graphic cards. Overall I am very pleased with this monitor, it meets all of my needs, and the specs being on line with some of the gaming monitors on the market it's a safe buy if you're just testing gaming or want something that works just as well for text documents as well as it does for gaming. Also if you want to ramp up to an Omen display later down the line, this will work amazing as a secondary display!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mine had a loooot of backlight, it was very hard to see in resident evil 7 that i had to strain my eyes a lot, i don't know if it was related to backlight, my previous monitor didn't have this issue.

Great for gaming and decent all around.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good overall monitor for those looking for a entry level gaming monitor. It has 144hz for smooth gaming. It has Freesync which also work with Gsync as well so no screen tearing. The IPS display gets pretty bright, if there is a white screen you will wake up instantly. The colors are pretty decent with some calibration. Only thing I am not a fan of is the controls on the bottom of the screen it makes it alittle difficult to change settings. But other than that it's a decent monitor all around.

One and a Half Thumbs Up From A Semi-Pro Gamer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up the HP X24ih for my oldest son who is a competitive Rainbow Six Siege player. He was using an LG 32" QHD G-Sync monitor, but constantly complained that it was too big. He has been playing on the monitor for two weeks now and has given it a glowing review with just one caveat. Overall, the monitor is bright, uniform, and produces outstanding color. Contrast is just average due to the nature of IPS, but more than acceptable black level for most applications. There is minimal ghosting which is always a plus for an IPS screen at this refresh rate. The unit received had zero flash-lighting or other backlight issues which is always great. The 1080p screen offers a reasonable pixel density for the size at just over 90ppi. The bezel-less display encompasses three sides, with a small 1/2" lip at the bottom. Pretty common design these days and looks great. The only caveat with this display arises if you are using an Nvidia graphics cards as my son is. While the monitor will support G-Sync it is capped to 120Hz and will not hit the full 144Hz the display is rated for unless G-Sync is disabled. For many that might not seem much of an issue, but as I have learned from my son it does makes a difference. He loves the monitor, but has relegated it to second monitor duty due to the refresh rate issue. For most and especially those on AMD graphics cards it will be a very suitable display. I can't really comment on the display from a productivity standpoint as it was only tested extensively with gaming. If you or someone else is looking for a 24" gaming monitor then place the HP X24ih on your short list.

Great choice, good response times and bright
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most Gaming monitors are often way overdone with the design of the stand and housing, however, this one is a very good simplistic monitor, with minimalistic “gamer aesthetic”. To start off with design, the bezel is very thin and the back is mostly plastic with a brushed aluminum pattern on the plastic. The stand is also very simple, is height adjustable, and rotates up to 90 degrees. Now to the monitor itself: The response times are very good, and the viewing angles on this monitor are incredible. I could be facing this monitor from the side and the picture would be practically the same. On the other hand, the whites on this monitor seem to have a bluish tint, but this can be easily adjusted in the settings. I also think that the darks could be darker, but I suppose this can be a good thing when gaming. The biggest drawback of this monitor is definitely the lacking IO. The IO includes only HDMI, Display ports, and an audio jack; with no USB ports whatsoever. Overall, this monitor is a good choice if it is being used just for gaming, and the user does not have any need for extra USB ports. Pro’s - Good response times - No “tearing” - Thin bezel - Lower Price than others - Good viewing angles - Controls are easy to use - Bright Con’s - Lacking IO - Comes saturated and with blue tint on whites

Beautiful color and excellent performance.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP X24ih gaming monitor is an excellent performer with really nice HD image quality and fantastic color reproduction. I used the monitor with my HP Omen desktop, mostly using Microsoft Flight Simulator and X-Plane. The picture quality is as good as looking out the window of the actual jet I fly for work, with none of the judder commonly seen as most monitors attempt to reproduce high quality graphics while objects depicted are moving rapidly across the screen. This is probably due to the 1ms response time. Additionally, I watched a football game on the monitor, because live sports on a computer monitor are often fully of blurry panning and ghosting. This monitor handled the task admirably, with very little of either anomaly present. The monitor is very aesthetically pleasing with a bezel that is almost non-existent along the top and sides, and the vertically adjustable stand is awesome for getting just the right viewing height. the usual set of controls are located conveniently on the lower edge of the bezel on the bottom right, and are easy to find and operate. Connectivity seems a little sparse, with a single HDMI 2.0 port and a single DisplayPort, but in truth I only use HDMI anyway, and sometimes less is more. This is a fantastic monitor for the price, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a friend. In fact, I'm thinking of buying a second one for my current setup.

Nice 24 in IPS gaming monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.HP x24ih Gaming monitor. This is a nice 24inch Gaming monitor with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It is full 144Hz IPS and has an adjustable stand that is very solidly built. It has a good tilt system, the h model is height adjustable as well. As one would expect, with an IPS monitor, you get a combination of solid colors and wide viewing angles. The resolution is 1920x1080 (FHD). There is no flash-lighting with this unit, and the blacks are very crisp. This unit is Anti-glare, which is important in a gaming monitor that you will sit in front of for hours. There is no downside for using it for office applications or other things than gaming, and of course, videos play nicely for the same reason that this works for a reasonably priced gaming monitor. If you have an AMD graphics card, you can also utilize FreeSync Premium, which is a feature added to the monitor. The controls are simple, straight forward, and easy to use. The command panel software allows for lots of manual adjustments. The response time is 1ms (overdrive), so movement and load times are fast and smooth. If you are using a mid to high-end NVIDIA graphics card this is still whopping fast with no blur or smear. Brightness is rated at 350 nits. The contrast ratio is reported to be 1000:1 The stand is well built and easy to put together with tilt adjustment, and the h model has a height-adjustable stand with a dedicated cable management slot. It has a built-in 100mmx100mm VESA mount if you want to add it to a desktop mount or wall mount system. The back shelf has an HDMI 2.0 port, a Display Port 1.2 port, and a 3.5m audio port. There is also a standard computer three-prong plug since the power supply is onboard instead of a brick

Great gaming monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The X24ih Gaming Monitor by HP is a fairly good monitor. The monitor has a 1920 x 1080 resolution display. It operates at 144Mhz and has a response time of 1ms. You are able to adjust the height by about 4 inches and the screen tilts about 30 degrees. There is no noticeable lag or blur when operating at its maximum settings, but there are small corona artifacts present around images. For those that need it, you can also rotate the screen to operate in portrait mode. It’s a nice feature for some applications. There are a lot of settings you can mess around with. Two settings you can change are crosshairs and FPS. The crosshairs setting adds the crosshairs for you instead of the ones in a game. The FPS counter lets you see the number of frames per second that you are receiving from your game. There are a lot of different color schemes to use for different needs. Along with those different color schemes the screen can get to a nice bright level to help against any glare. One of my favorite things about this monitor is that it works seamlessly when using two monitors. The monitor also has good energy ratings, keeping down the power usage and heat. Overall this monitor works well with multiple monitors as well as having a good response time for gamers.

Great gaming monitor!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent monitor for both gaming and general use. Colors are accurate, nice contrast & brightness and viewing angles are decent. All to be expected with an IPS monitor. Controls are pretty much standard. Not noticing any hot spots. Very flexible with its adjustments. I've used far more expensive monitors with much less flexibility. I am really impressed with how easy it is to put together! No tools needed and can be put together in seconds. Snap the post into the back of the monitor and screw the base plate on (built in screw with no screwdriver needed) and away you go. Why can't more things be this easy?! Now the big selling point for this monitor is the 144hz screen. If you have never used a screen with such a high refresh rate you really don't know what you are missing until you try it. And by try it I mean with gaming. The motions become so fluid that it really can help your game play. Not to mention I think it takes some strain off of your eyes. The 1ms is as good as it gets and it works well. Combined, these two things make for an incredible gaming experience. And even if you are only a casual gamer, the price point helps make this a good all around monitor that is ready for the future if you decide to get more serious about gaming down the line. My only concern is the inputs. You get one HDMI and one DisplayPort. Now I'm not really complaining because this is not an issue for my use. But for some it could be. Just something to be aware of. Overall this is an awesome monitor that is about as good as it gets without spending a small fortune on a 4K monitor that you really don't need either for gaming, or in this size.

Refresh rate is superb; size is adequate
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review."Refresh rate" means the flow of your mouse moving across the screen is much smoother the higher the number. That is to say, the graphical smoothness of video resolution has less stalling and flickering. 144 Hz is an outstanding rate given the reasonable price of the monitor, which makes it acceptable for gaming. Video is vivid, clear, and beyond smooth! I love the height-adjustable stand and wide tilt screen. That being said, it's not enough screen for me. It would be a good double buy for a dual-screen setup, but as a standalone, the size is average at best.
