Customers praise the X24ih monitor's picture quality, refresh rate, and color accuracy, frequently citing vibrant visuals and smooth performance. Many also appreciate the monitor's affordability and ease of setup. While some users wished for additional HDMI ports and built-in speakers, the overall experience is largely positive. A few users noted minor issues with the display port and potential for slight ghosting.

It's a great monitor that does 1080p at 144hz very well. I have no other problems with this monitor other than the fact that some of the settings you may turn on, such as the different speed levels of the monitor (1-4), are not saved for the next time you turn on the monitor. This doesn't happen all the time, but it's a very very mild inconvenience when it does happen. All in all, it works perfectly as a gaming monitor, and the swivel feature of the stand is a plus as well.

HP - X24ih 23.8" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Premium Monitor (DisplayPort, HDMI) - Black
Easy to set up, connect and adjust for height! Great Picture (for telecommute/Google Meet). I have NOT used it for Gaming so I can not speak to that.
Only complaint:
I could not initially use it because it muted the audio in Google Meet and there was no information on the 'quick start' about the audio capabilities of this monitor. Upon playing with it I did finally SEE a banner appear on the computer (not this monitor) screen WHEN it is initially plugged in BLINK AND MISS IT. THAT BANNER was the key to figuring out how to solve the problem. (I can not remember exactly how/what it said...it (the banner) might have even been clickable. [I'm not near it now or I'd look and give more specifics.] Something in the settings needed to be changed.
I would suggest the 'quick start' information should maybe include a website with updated information about how to get the monitor to play nicely with different operating systems.

The monitor is as described and has a crisp clear picture at 144hz. The stand is likewise nice and wide, yet not too wide. And the ability to rotate from landscape to portrait is a nice touch. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a 144hz monitor on the less expensive side.

I bought this as a gift for my little cousin. it was a great deal for a 144Hz screen. clean display and fast image for gaming as my cousin told me. however, it arrived with damage in the top right corner, but I contact customer service and they replaced it right away.

Overall this monitor is very nice. The colors and quality of the images on the screen popped out to me right away compared to my last monitor. Everything is sharp and high quality. I have had one issue with this monitor since purchased and that is that it won’t save its settings. I set it to the low blue light filter and every time I restart or turn off the computer it switches back to the stock settings. It gets kinda old to go back into the menu every time I switch on the computer to adjust my settings again. Overall I’m happy and I love the high refresh rate. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to enjoy playing games at 60hz ever again. lol

I'm relatively new to using tower PCs, and I think having a good monitor is important. With a light focus on gaming and a high focus on color accuracy, I decided an IPS panel was best for my setup. I bought this monitor with moderate expectations considering my checkered history with HP, but they delivered a product that shattered my preconceived doubts.
Pros:
Excellent color accuracy
Great color presets
Premium monitor stand with cable management hole
High refresh rate for gaming
Easy to navigate settings
Adjustable response time
Works with VESA mount
Works very well with AMD's Radeon software
Cons:
Desk footprint moderately large (read further for more info)
Very minor backlight bleed, but unnoticeable most of the time
Level 4 response time (1ms) causes minor ghosting at high frame rates, leave it at Level 1 (4ms) to avoid this.
HP's Omen Gaming Hub software causes settings to act weird, uninstall it if it was installed automatically by Windows.
No HDR
Comprehensive Review:
First of all, this monitor was very easy to set up, and the menu is very easy to navigate with the buttons on the bottom of the monitor. I was expecting to use a nub button on the back for navigation, but I prefer buttons. This took the cake. Adjusting color and brightness to your personal preferences is a breeze.
The colors of the display are also a strong point. I was worried when I ordered this because I couldn't try the monitor in a store before buying it, but I love it a lot. The monitor presets in the color menu allow you to change between warm and cool color temperatures, so it's easy to protect your eyes, whether you're working from home in the evening or gaming with your friends late on a Friday night. While the monitor is excellent for watching movies, I will say you may want to lower the brightness a bit for that because when the screen colors are dark, there can be some minor backlight bleed at high brightness. It's a very miniscule drawback though, and I rarely notice it. The only thing that might bother some people is that the monitor doesn't natively support HDR. If you want HDR, this is probably not the right choice.
Before owning this monitor, I didn't care very much about high frame rates. Now that I have a monitor that runs at 144Hz all the time, I really appreciate how smooth it is. Because of my GPU, I can't run all my games at 144 FPS, but my cursor movement looks and feels amazing! The monitor is capable of a 1ms response time if you adjust it in the monitor's gaming settings, but I strongly advise against this if ghosting bothers you. There's no ghosting at 4ms and that's honestly as low as it needs to be.
The monitor stand looks and feels very premium. With a cable management hole on the back and a smooth height adjustment track, it's great for positioning the screen however you wish. It even rotates the monitor 90 degrees clockwise for portrait orientation, though I can't see the use for that unless you have a multi-monitor setup or are making digital art. Unfortunately, the included stand is not for everyone. The foot of the stand was just too big for the raised monitor table on my desk, but after removing that module, the surprisingly high vertical adjustment made up for that. Those who think the desk footprint might be a problem may also want to look into getting a 100mm x 100mm VESA monitor arm.
Finally, I will explain the only major con I have found with this monitor so far, and it has to do with Windows. If you're using a Windows machine with this and have HP Omen Gaming Hub installed, I suggest uninstalling the software if you don't rely on it for anything else. Windows automatically installed this software when I began using the monitor with DisplayPort, and even though it was easy to adjust the monitor settings from within the software, there were some things I could only change using the monitor's onboard menu, which Omen Gaming Hub would override after a system restart. I almost didn't buy this monitor because some people claimed it doesn't save any settings after being powered down. I think these people thought it was the monitor's fault alone, but I believe it was due to a communication snafu between the monitor and its companion software. If you buy this monitor for Windows, do yourself a favor and remove HP Omen Gaming Hub (unless you're using a prebuilt from HP). Doing so will cause the monitor to keep any changes you make in the onboard menu.
Overall, my experience with this monitor has been nothing but excellent. I love the fact that it is compatible with stereo speakers or headphones, and it has both DisplayPort and HDMI. I think it's great for both computers and video game consoles (I also use it with my Switch). Why, if I mentioned all the cons above, am I giving it five stars? Well, it's primarily because I was very stressed out looking for a monitor that fit my needs and none of the problems I anticipated have occurred. It's still not perfect, but then, nothing is. The important thing is it works well for what it is.

I've gamed on 1080p 27" 144hz Acer as well as 1440p 27" 144hz Dell, this is one of the best displays you can buy right now under $300 brand new and the size is perfect for either single or dual use!

Overall great for gaming supports Xbox max refresh rates (120 max for consoles 144hz max for the monitor itself) and 1080p for great gaming. Also supports free sync I believe. Many settings on the monitor such as gaming, contrast enhancing, and even low blue light modes. One hdmi port is a little bit unsatisfactory but it’s reasonable. You can also set it up within minutes on the stand included or you can mount it to a wall. Being a console owner, I found it a little difficult to adjust the picture size and position if not impossible. However not that big of a deal. You can also even add custom crosshairs that display on the monitor itself. Great purchase even if it’s a bit pricey.

This monitor is great for the price. It does work with the ps5 in 120hz mode. Very few monitors will work with 120 mode on ps5 right now for some reason but this one does. Not even my 500 dollar 240hz monitor worked. I would 100% grab this while its on sale for any next gen console gaming.

Great monitor for PS5 120hz

Monitor is perfect for PS5 120hz, BUT make sure you are able to hook this up to a monitor or laptop, so you can change the refresh rate of monitor to 120hz. It's not needed to obtain 120hz on PS5, but I say this because if you just hook it up then go back to 60 FPS games it will be choppy as'f, so if you change it to 120hz, it's perfectly even because 60 x 2 = 120. It will be smooth 60 FPS. I don't know why this is, but yeah. I thought I had a defect when that wasn't the case, just the refresh rate on the monitor wasn't set right. Other than that, this monitor is beautiful. No complaints at all.

This monitor is stupendous. It has amazing quality and feedback whether you are playing games or watching videos. The different array of modes the screen has makes it easy to pick the most suitable display for whatever you are doing. I normally play PC games but have turned on the old xbox one s to play with friends and was very happy with the picture quality in gaming mode. One thing I knew I would miss out on was having speakers, but I knew it did not have built in ones while researching and in the end purchasing it.

This monitor is…alright. I got it on sale for about $179.99 and for that I’d say it’s a steal. A little on the smaller side but the 144hz and the insanely quick response time makes this worth the purchase. (on sale that is)
