Sluggish, otherwise OK

I've been using wireless mice with USB dongles but USB ports are disappearing. It was easy to set up, pair, and use intuitively. Once paired, it re-connects automatically. However: (1) when connecting upon startup, there is slight lag (2) when idle for a short time, there is lag (jiggle the mouse and wait for the cursor to appear or move). I don't know if that is a BT property or something specific to this mouse. (3) I was previously accustomed to another brand of wireless mouse that had excellent (5 star) tracking. I've been spoiled. The X4000 doesn't track on the sometimes weird surfaces I've come to use: my pants leg, a towel, a napkin, ... It's just got kind of "normal" tracking on the usual surfaces (hard table; soft, flat paper or cardboard; mouse pad). So, it's an "OK" BT mouse but I'd go for better tracking because I have come to use my laptop in unusual places.

Bluetooth connection can get lost periodically with inactivity (this is something I've never had issue with when using a USB mouse). Wheel works as designed but I prefer a more free-spinning wheel (this is more 'clicky'). It saves a USB port so it's worth it.
