    Bought this HP Bluetooth Mouse x4000b for my new Acer laptop. Instruction manual that comes with this is very skinny - 10 lines of text. They refer you to their website for any further manuals or help. The mouse was recognized by my laptop and connected to it, but won't work. Tried to search for answers through their website, online forum and "Support," all to no avail. Their support site runs you in circles without giving any phone numbers or email to connect with anyone. Very frustrating! I bought this product based on what I saw as very good reviews, but my experience is on the opposite end. Maybe this product is good if it works right away, but you better hope you don't have any problems and need help.

    Disable bluetooth power management!

    I wanted to give 0 star cuz losing connection per minute is such a pain. But by chance I just realized that it's because of the stupid power saving management in my laptop, rather than HP! Now it's working very well!.

    Picky about where it wants to work

    I tried it and it did not work for my needs. Movement was jerky, when it moved at all. If it's dependant on a smooth, non textured surface then I can't use it. I wanted Bluetooth so I didn't have to give up a USB port for wireless mouse but it didn't work out that way. The regular wireless optical mouse has no problems functioning on a textured surface.

    Good Bluetooth Connection - Bad Comfort Fit

    Great Bluetooth connection. The contour on the side of the mouse, fit thumb and small finger good. Either the height or length could be increased to make clicking easy without causing you to grip the mouse more tightly. By doing this, it causes the mouse to move and perhaps click on the wrong item. The edges are not rounded, but rather more defined than smooth. I am considering returning it.

    The mouse loses its connection to the computer all the time and will drive you crazy. HP does not provide any customer service. This is a horrible, buggy product. Look it up online and you will see hundreds of complaints about this same issue. HP should not be selling this mouse at all.

    I like everything about this mouse except the connection reliability. On my hp chromebook 14 it keeps dropping every few minutes.

    Brrr......It's freezing!

    This mouse started well enough but after a few weeks it start to suffer through an occasional freeze. Now, It freezes every 10 minutes. This is paired with a HP Spectre laptop with Windows 10. The batteries have been removed and reinserted. The batteries have been removed and replace with brand new. Changed mouse pads. Underside has been cleaned. Uninstalled and reinstalled from the laptop. Searched multiple user help forums and boards for solutions. None of the solution suggestions has worked. Absolutely nothing has worked. This frozen mouse is headed to the trash bin.

    Not Worth Trying

    Right out of the box I thought I had an inexpensive replacement for my Logitech V470. It was paired to my Dell laptop quickly and worked flawlessly for a few weeks. Had to reinstall Windows to my laptop and the mouse could not pair wth my laptop. The connecting cursur just kept spinning. The device was discovered fast but never connects. I renstalled my Bluetooth software and same failure. I called HP for support & after many transfers & letting all the techs know my problem they decided mouse isn't the issue, laptop has problems with Bluettoth software. None of the HP support techs did any type of diagnostics & would only help me I had an HP computer because they think no other computer can be diagnosed except an HP, too many varables. I brought the mouse back to Best Buy & got a full refund. Got another Logitech V470 used from eBay for same cost and it worked perfectly right out of the box first time wthout any changes to my laptop. Huh, guess the HP mouse died...less than a month of use. My Logitech has worked for nearly 3 years!

    A huge HEADACHE NOT WORTH THE PRICE

    I bought this HP x4000b mouse for my Acer Ultra book after I lost my previous Logitech mouse, this mouse is like a nightmare. It's buttons are noisy, doesn't fit conveniently in the palm and above all, if you don't use it for 30 min, it's a pain in the neck to re-connect it, you press the connect button, you turn it off/on 15-20 times and if you are lucky, you get connected, otherwise you've to restart the whole computer which is never my policy because I always put my computer to sleep mode for a quick wakeup and do what I need to do. Bought it, (tried) to use it for 4 days, returning back to the store!! Worst mouse experience ever....

    HP X4000b - Nice idea, poor execution

    I bought this mouse on sale 3 months ago. Paired great under Mac OS X but had difficulty pairing under Windows 7 Enterprise (the device would hang while trying to pair and would not conect). The enclosed quick guide set up was not helpful at all. After 3 months the off on swith, which is recessed and poorly designed, broke. When I contacted HP they said that was "normal wear tear" (if I know that the product was designed to last only 3 months I would not have purchased it to begin with). They were helpful and shipped me a new mouse, which I am still having the same connection issues with. I will not be buying another HP bluetooth mouse.

    I tried it for 3 days. It keeps disconnecting after a while. Then reconnecting is a head ache. will return it as soon as the store opens.

    This mouse was a piece of garbage from day one. It randomly stopped working all the time, I had to turn it off and back on again to get it to 'wake up'. (Pressing the bluetooth button did nothing). Eventually it stopped working for good 3 months after purchase. I smashed it into pieces. I'll be buying a Logitech mouse next time.

    I would avoid and pick another mouse. I rarely write reviews but after two HP Bluetooth mouse failures I have moved on to Logitech.

    This is by far the worst mouse ive ever had to deal with. For starters it won't connect to my computer because of error code 28. When i tried to update the driver there was no update. Maybe this is a good mouse if i connects but for me it isn't worth the hassle, headache, and money.

    I bought this on a Friday and it would disconnect every few minutes. Called tech support, got some call center in India. Got transfered 5 times and gave up. Very dis-appointed HP. :(
