The first thing that is great about this phone is the day I got it; 7/9/10. I pre-ordered it and I was originally supposed to pick it up on 7/11/10, but I got it two full days in advanced! That was awesome. Okay, now about the actual phone... it's amazing! It does everything you could want a phone to do, and more! A lot of people are comparing it to the iPhone 4 and quite frankly, I don't see why because the EVO 4G wins by a long-shot. This phone takes amazing pictures and videos, it looks amazing all around and it is amazing. If you are trying to impress someone, this will surely do the trick! I bought this with the full body ZAGG Invisible Shield, and I think it was worth it. I paid a $13 fee for the people at Best Buy to put it on for me, I recommend you do that, it isn't exactly easy to put on. If you do decide to get the ZAGG, do NOT put another case over it. It will completely ruin the phone! So pretty much, just get the phone. This is the phone for anyone, it is a must-have. Get this phone!

I love the phone, looks, performance, software, camera, you name it it has it... But, as you all know, battery is horrible, I've been a Blackberry guy since 2004, so it was hard to change programs and way to use a phone, but I was tired of navigating thru the internet and tried to read in a 2-3 inches screen. When it comes to the battery if you like to navigate, listen to music, applications, etc the phone doesnt last more than 4-5 hrs with original 1500 mhz battery, I got a 1800 mhz that cost me $20 and give me around 2hrs more of usage (tops). I maintain a charger at home, work, car and an extra battery with me for the just in case. Resolution wise is beautiful, controlls, and features great, just like Iphone, even though there are not that many applications as ihone does and you cant use the 4g band cause Miami doesnt have coverage for it, is mandatory to have it ($10 a month) HD camera is freaking awesome, upload them to youtube and facebook easy. I will recommend this phone but note that it is really different and very complicated (ina good way). It has TOO MANY features that is overwhelming. BEST OF THE BEST, HANDS DOWN BETTER THAN IPHONE.

I love this phone! First, the screen is huge. It takes some getting used to. I'm used to being able to text in one hand with just my thumb but the large screen makes this difficult. But, if you have large hands, this won't be a problem for you. The screen is great but I expected more from an 8 megapixel camera. My Palm Pre has a 3 megapixel camera and the pictures from the Pre are much better than the Evo. The Evo's features and App Catalog are impressive. You can play with it just about all day...which brings us to the bad part...the battery. I have found that even in standby mode the battery will drain halfway overnight! I am in the process of calibrating my batteries (yes, batteries) so that I can get more usage out of them. I have 3 batteries and I can survive off 2 batteries per day. Hopefully, this will improve once the batteries are properly calibrated. Otherwise, the phone is wonderful. It took some getting used to. But, once you have the hang of it, it is so worth having. If you don't want to buy additional batteries, just charge throughout the day and you should be alright. Once again, awesome phone/computer/planner/MP3 player, etc.

    The best smart phone

I've owned the Iphone 3G, Blackberry Tour, and HTC Hero. This is by far the best smartphone I've encountered. The screen size is perfect for a touchscreen phone and I can't see myself ever going with anything smaller (makes the Iphone look unbearable). The touchscreen is accurate and the EVO responds quick to every command. The camera is great and the phone has every luxury feature you'd expect from a top of the line phone. 4G is lightning fast and I don't see any other reason for the industry to make improvements for faster internet on a phone. It's well worth the $10 upcharge on Sprint, especially considering AT&T increased they're rates $10 for 3G a couple of years ago! There's no comparison. Battery life is average but considering it's a 4G phone, It's actually not so bad. I have no problem with average battery life considering the huge bright screen display and lightning quick internet. The service on Sprint is great in Chicago (better than AT&T). The rates on Sprint are by far the best in the industry. $70 plus $10 for 4G internet gives you practically unlimited everything. Compare to any other provider and you can see why it's surprising anyone would choose otherwise. Also, this phone can act as a hot spot for $30 extra. This phone is insane! What other phone can do these things? What more can you ask for?? If you like great touchscreens and plans/service, then you won't be disappointed.

Our household picked up two of the white Evo's this week. We weren't sure if we'd like the white case, but since it's just the back it actually looks stylish - though it is also mostly covered when using a case anyway. The touchscreen interface is a snap to use, especially with the screen size. We're not in a 4G area yet, so while the extra fee for 4G isn't great, the connection on 3G works very well and is faster than our old phones (LG Lotus). I've always had the habit of charging my phone overnight and I have yet to run the battery down during the day on the Evo to need a charge any earlier. Since this is our first smartphone it's going to be learning experience for a few weeks with settings, apps, etc. But we're very happy with the phones and haven't had any problems. Kudos to the mobile phone assistant at Best Buy that sold the phones to us, she was great at getting them activated and set up for us before we left the store. We recommend and have the Zagg screen protectors and Platinum Series cases for the phones too.

This Evo has everything I could want. I use it all the time. Strengths: Amazing screen. Big and beautiful. Awesome responsiveness. Feels great to use. Phone works great - no dropped calls, clear voice. Contacts links to facebook, gmail contacts, etc. Easy to play music, send files. Uploads and emails very quickly - sometimes faster than Wifi (like attwifi at Starbucks). It also seems to have more free apps than iPhone - like Angry Birds. Camera/video is very good. Weaknesses: Battery life is so so. It runs out before the end of the day so I've been carrying the charger with me. Luckily, it's the standard charger on all sprint phones so I have like 3 of them from previous phones. I understand there is a longer life battery you can buy separately. Not as intuitive as the iPhone. Sometimes I'm wondering how the heck I'm supposed to do stuff and I'm still getting used to using Menu for everything. 4G almost never works consistently as of 4/27/11 in NYC. Not so bad though because the 3G is very fast and very consistent.

I was waiting for a while to get my hands on this phone and it was worth the wait. This phone has it all. The screen size is amazing and the phone has so many features. I will say I am not a fan of the keyboard but with letter recognition it makes it easier to have the correct word added into your text or email. The app world has so many different things to download like TMZ and ringtones. I love being able to customize my screen for what works best for me. I did a serious upgrade from the lg lotus and I don't regret it. I also would recommend the zagg screen protector even if you have to pay the extra 8 dollars for best buy to install it. it's well worth it. The battery could be better but if you are playing on it alot like we all are the first few days then it will drain but otherwise it's cool and will last all day. Overall this is a great phone.

The EVO is one of the most diversely functional phones I have ever used. With Android 2.2 shipped standard on this phone, you have access to the most current version of Google's mobile OS and it works seamlessly on the hardware that HTC has put together. The Android market is consistently growing and I can usually find an app on there to suit just about any need that I can think of for use with a cell phone. Still not as extensive as the Apple App Store for the iPhone, iPod, and iPad, but Android Market will be there with them soon enough. The phone's 1 GHz processor makes it very zippy and smooth transitioning between windows as you swipe your finger from one side to the other to reveal more widgets and apps that you customize on each screen. The pinch and spread zoom feature is smooth and seamless; the camera is quite simply amazing, even only using 5 MP (since it goes up to 8 MP). Great phone. Love it, love it.

As someone who has been a smartphone abuser since the first colour Blackberrys hit the market, I like to be able to tweak and adjust thinks to my liking. I found Android and will NEVER turn back. I picked up the Evo in the end of June for an upgrade. Since the Evo 3D was coming out, I got a GREAT deal on the OG Evo. It is a great phone that looks a great as it performs. Very fast, with a beautiful screen. Is it as good as Samsung's screens? No, but it still looks great. When I got the phone, the battery life was on par with any other high-end smartphone. It was abyssmal to say the least, but you got get a Ferrari for the fuel economy. Rooting the phone with a custom ROM and kernel have vastly improved my battery life to more than three times it would get un-rooted. It's easy to use, fast, and I haven't opened my laptop since I got it. There is no better phone out there, at least until the Samsung Galaxy S2 comes out.

This phone is absolutely spectacular. Sharpest looking phone on the market and the kickstand is a nice touch. You'll be the envy of all your friends. Tons of cool features and apps come already installed and there are a plethora of additional ones available on the Android market. The 8.0 Mp camera is top notch and the facing camera allows you to face chat! On top of all this the interface and menus are completely intuitive. Even the most challenged of morons could operate this phone and even take advantage of the more complex features. Don't expect to be streaming crystal clear HD video like you see in the commercial though, as this will only be possible in 4G areas, which are few and far between. In standard 3G your picture will be choppy and pixelated as you would expect, but it's just as good as any other 3G phone out there so who can complain. Oh, and you'll pay the $10 premium data fee whether you live in a 4G zone or not--BS. One more thing, the battery life is pretty horrible but what do you expect--you're carrying a small computer in your pocket. I wouldn't trade it for anything!

THIS PHONE IS THE BEST, I ALMOST FALL FOR AN IPHONE BUT THIS MEET MY EXPECTATIONS,AS SOON AS SPRINT GET THEIR 3G AND 4G WORKING RIGHT IN FLORIDA THIS PHONE IS GOING TO BE MUCH BETTER THAN IPHONES, SPRINT PLANS FIT YOUR BUDGET AND OFFER THIS PHONE THAT DO AS MUCH AS THE IPHONE DOES,GREAT APPLICATIONS,FASTEST NETWORK,BIGGER SCREEN IT SO MUCH GOOD ABOUT THIS PHONE IS HARD TO FIND SOMETHING IS WRONG, I CHOOSE THE WHITE ONE CAUSE IT LOOKS DIFERENT THAN ALL THOSE BLACK PHONES OUT THERE, YES I HEARD STUFF ABOUT THE BATERY BUT THERES APPLICATIONS LIKE JUICE DEFENDER TO REDUCE THE CONSUMPTION ALSO THERES SO MANY OPTIONS TO GET A DIFFERENT BATTERY THAT LAST MORE THAN THE ORIGINAL. I RECOMMEND THIS PHONE, I GIVE IT A 10 AND I RECOMEND SPRINT THE NOW NETWORK IF YOU WANT THE BEST AND SAVE ON MONEY THIS IS THE PHONE AND THE COMPANY TO CHOOSE FROM.

Just got this phone yesterday. Have played with numerous first gen droid phones but this one tops them all. It's similar in size to the VZ Droid X but makes better use of the screen in my opinion. Even with it's size it feels perfect in the hand and pocket. The reception in OC on Sprint is terrific. The performance on youtube or browsing is equal to when connected on my wifi. Max bars in most areas which is better than my AT&T BB for work. Responsive and fast.....blazing fast. Used an eris, hero, and nexus but those feel like slugs to me now. Only gripe is that it's so fun that I burn the battery up. Don't get hung up on the 4g, Sprint has excellent speed in most large cities....and like I said about OC, it's usually better than my AT&T bb.

This phone is great. I love it. It's speedy with it's fast processor, it's got a great screen (big with vibrant colors) that works well as a touch screen especially since I have pretty big hands. I have a really hard time typing on smaller touchscreens (iPhone). There are plenty of App choices in the Android Market and works great with Google services (Gmail, Voice, etc). The only thing that stinks about this phone is the battery life. There is another "extended life" battery available online but that sucker is HUGE. The battery included gets the job done but if you use it throughout the day, it's about a 2-charge-per-day telephone. I can usually use it pretty regularly for text, calls, and app's for about 7 to 10 hours (obviously the more you run the faster the battery drains). But the battery does charge up pretty quickly. Overall, I *love* my EVO and it's features, and so far Sprint has been treating me quite nicely! (I defected from T-Mobile)

This is the best phone I have ever owned in my life. I came from owning a Blackberry Curve, to the EVO. The difference is night and day, as if I went from 1911 to 2011. The EVO is extremely advanced and has everything you could ever want in a phone along with amazing apps to download. I admit, I at a point did want an iPhone, and that was when I was originally with AT&T; and honestly, with the EVO I could care less about owning an iPhone because I love the EVO. An amazing phone with the ONLY flaw being a lack of a strong battery. Of course, it all depends on usage but I usually charge my phone about 2-3 times per day which I never used to do with the Blackberry. Luckily there are apps on the market that are FREE that will help you save battery life (task killers etc). If you are a part of Sprint, look no further for the best smartphone on the market. If you are not part of Sprint; this is the one phone that will convert someone to Sprint service.

This phone is so packed with features you will find something new everyday that you can do with it. The camera is great; 8mp and a front view camera for uploading pics or video to Facebook or to share with friends and family. The droid market is rivaling the apple market with tons of free apps. The only bad thing is the battery life. You really should keep it plugged in charging every opportunity you have because the large vibrant screen eats the battery. Emails on the fly just like a blackberry or iphone but much bigger easier to read screen. The touch screen is very sensitive and even typing is easy. I can't say enough good things about this phone oh and did I mention lightning fast internet too? Faster than my desktop computer. Sprint has actually surprised me with their customer service and has a great data package that includes tv, gps, unlimited data, text and calls to any other cell phone provider.

Just got the HTC Evo and I'm already in love! I came from the Palm Pre and while there is a bit of a learning curve, I'm amazed by all the cool things that the Evo can do (just one is that you can use your voice to input to emails/texts etc....and the phone types it up for you!). I have to rave about the service I got when I picked up my phone. The techs were superb and my experience was heads and shoulders above anything I've gotten in a Sprint Store (which, for the record, has always been great). Between installing protective covers, to installing apps and showing me various features, I really felt that the guys at BB knew what they were selling and were happy to help. The phone gets 5 stars, and so does the service team at Best Buy!

The Battery is the first thing you will notice. Its lack of power. even if your not using the phone the apps and widgets drain the life outta the battery faster than you can say HTC EVO. And think about it, a giant screen takes a lot of power to light up. The next thing you will notice is Its almost impossible to get 4G unless you live in a 2mile radius of a 4G tower. And you pay $10 extra for that. Not worth it at all... paying $10 more for a phone they call the first 4G and it doesnt pick up 4G. That's a scam to me. Next is the 8mp camera takes the same quality pictures as a 3mp camera. the only difference is the pictures are bigger when you view them on your PC. yea thats right you are not going to tell the difference between a 3mp and an 8mp picture on your phone. It takes horrible Macro (upclose) Pictures even though this phone has high MegaPixels. Last but not least, the phone crashes A LOT. It doesnt matter how many apps you got when your phone crashes all the time. Even simple stuff like the built in text messages. I returned my HTC EVO after giving it a proper 30 day trial.

    I Love My EVO!!

    SuperTechGuy

I think that when considering all the phones on the market, and what they can do, the EVO comes out on top. This is an AWESOM phone that quite simply, does it all. And it does it well! I've had lots of iPhone4 people tell me that they like my EVO better than their iPhone. The only negative feature of this phone is the battery life. It's pretty bad. But, when you consider all the radios that are in this device, it's really remarkable that the battery can last as long as it does. In my case, I can get about 15 hours out of the battery by turning almost all the radios off (WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and 4G) when I'm not using them. But, one of the great selling points of this phone is that not only is a remarkable piece of hardware, but when you add all the Android apps and the low cost of the Sprint plans .... it's a no brainer ... this IS the phone to get.

I thought about switch carriers and thought I would try out a new type of phone and knew of the HTC EVO through friends and got one myself. The look and feel of the phone is nice. I was used to using an iphone so I think I may have been set in my ways of the iphone. I changed my settings to not drain and pull the battery but still found my battery died within six hours on a full charge. I did however later find out that I never changed it off of roaming and when I was at work, I had not service so it was constantly roaming for a clear tower. The android part of the phone I did not like, found that apps would run weather you were using them or not. I did not like this at all. Found you could not get around this either. Did not like that fact that I could not delete off certain programs that were preinstalled either. These were the apps running all the time too. Just found that I missed my iphone. I took it back and switched carriers to Verizon and got the iphone4 and just fell back inlove <3

We ordered three of the EVO's; they are great! So many things you can do with this super android phone. It can be customized in so many different ways. The apps that are available are great and allow you to do so many different things. With the android Operating System if you are technical in anyway you can purchase apps that allow you to customize which calls will ring through and which ones will not ring, but would go to voice mail if the person leaves a message. The phone can be customized to what calls go through and ring and what time of the day the phone rings or does not ring. So many areas to be explored on this great new phone.
