    Best Workout

Got it on the blackfriday deal, and researched it thoroughly, so I was prepared to pay for the membership. I love this machine. It looks like a piece of art. The experience is amazing, especially waking up to dolphins in Miami. The instructors are great and really make the time pass by. I've done 4 days of rowing, and am already up to 20 minute rows and wanting more after each row. The machine is quiet and smooth, and I really like the mobility of the screen for the mat exercises. I've never rowed before, so all the instructional videos were very helpful. I still have a ways to go to get down to my high school shape, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel with this program.

Love this machine. Just started rowing and feel the difference already. It is heavy to install so use two people but once set up, it easy to turn on and start using. $38/mo. for all the classes right now is worth it to me.

Tried Peleton, confirmed i hate exercising on a bike. Tried a treadmill, which was soooo boring. Same with an elliptical. Hydrow is perfect. Beautiful scenery. Nice variety. And rowing is the kind of full body workout i was looking for. $44/mo is pretty expensice, but i want to support this platform!

Wanted to give a shout out to Norman at the white marsh Maryland store! We went in to try the hydrow out after researching a lot online. Once we decided we wanted to buy it and get the Best Buy card to get 0% financing he got us get the card, free delivery within 4 days and checked out seamlessly and quickly. Wonderful experience, thanks Norman!

I wasnt thrilled about paying for a subscription, but the coaches and their workouts honestly keep me going. Bought this almost a year ago and it has helped me loose alot of weight and get into shape. Love my Hydrow best workout machine ive ever purchased.

    Disapointed

Tested the rower at the store. Very Disappointed. With such a nice design, the product quality is subpar for an $2000 item. Cheap plastic, flimsy connected components. The resistance at catch position is nearly zero. Does not simulate rowing at all. The nice monitor can’t overcome poor construction and performance. And as the ‘icing to the cake’ comes the requirement of a monthly $40 fee. Thanks, but no thanks. Look elsewhere. Waterrower or Concept 2 machines are half of the price and absurdly better than this.

    Not for experienced rowers

Whereas I don't own a Hydrow myself, I was able to try one out at my apartment building's gym. Unfortunately, the Hydrow does not feel like a premium product. The rower itself feels very cheap/clunky, and the rowing experience is very much below that of a Concept 2 or a WaterRower. It does not feel like a professional /premium workout machine, but feels more targeted towards rowing novices who want to feel good about their routine. The screen UI also needs a revamp, and the video quality of the workouts is also poor. I think this product could have been the Peloton of rowing, but currently they are just charging like one.

Don't waste your time or money with this company. I pre-paid for a one-year membership, when I tried to use the activation code it asked me to enter a credit card number and wanted to charge me again for the year. I called and was told that's just how the system is set up. Now I'm stuck with a $2200.00 machine (plus the one year membership) that is unusable.

REQUIRES $38/month SUBSCRIPTION but quality device

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Honest review: Buy this if you are serious about rowing and will pay the monthly subscription - DO NOT BUY THIS if you are casually into rowing and just want to supplement your other routines, unless you're made of money. The product is solid, it's a great row machine. But it's only worth buying if you want to commit to their monthly plan, because they intentionally make the software experience bad for users who aren't paying for it. There is no option to turn it on and track your rowing speed etc. you HAVE to choose class with a set duration. Which at first seems ok, but it stops when the time stops, even if you aren't done. So you're choosing from their lists of classes, but you can't watch the video. They did this on purpose because that will get you to fork over 38 dollars a month. For that reason, I can't recommend it to anyone but avid rowers who know they will use it enough to pay 38/month.

    Stay away from this trash!

I just like to casually work out and wanted a nice looking machine in the house to do so, but the subscription fees are too much and I am basically paying $10 each time I sit on it for the four times I use it in a month! That is absolutly ridiculous, I don't need "professional" rowers telling me how to perform a basic function over and over again. Just like weight lifting you learn the correct method ONCE and move on from there! So the dumbbells I own do not require a constant trainer, DO NOT require internet connection to USE! And do not require a company tracking what I am doing in MY HOME and WHEN! It's too bad too because this is an excellent piece of equipment, but like evrything else in life GREED destroys all. So now some unlucky person picked this piece of trash up from the local craigslist listing I made, and good riddance!

Awful customer care in response to a derogatory word towards disabled people used by an instructor in their content. Plus mine arrived with a broken (cheap plastic) pin for the monitor.

    Membership is too expensive

I have lots of friends who want to get into rowing but none of us can afford $39 a month. Hydrow should offer a tiered subscription model for people that don’t need live rowing classes. Live rowing classes aren’t even helpful. Racing against friends is more fun and doesn’t require the overhead of paying instructors. I’m returning mine until they have a $10-$20 subscription model that allows users to computer against other users. Otherwise, will get an eregatta or city row.

    Greedy Company

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Personally, I find it sickening that Hydrow offers virtually no real option for people who don’t want to buy their monthly/yearly subscription service. Free row doesn’t even work if you don’t have an internet connection. Even though I’d love to buy the membership and follow along with the workouts, I bought Ergatta over Hydrow just for the simple greed of the Hydrow company to force people’s hand to pay for memberships.
