Great concept! Poor execution.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off I got this for a great deal. It was priced regularly at $79 and I was able to purchase it at a local Best Buy for $47. The problem with this device is that it’s solely rests on the USB-C port, for my MacBook Pro. Works fine when plugging it into my Macbook Pros USB-C port. But past that point is when the problems begin. If you’re plugging in a standard USB-A device, notice that there’s a significant amount of tension when plugging unplugging the cable. Unfortunately, that same tension is nonexistent when it comes plugging the hub into the device. When unplugging a USB-A cable, the hub itself starts tilting as you’re pulling the it out. In my opinion, this is a major design law because if not careful, it would be very easy to snap the male USB-C connector of the hub off, leaving it stuck in your laptops port. I work in IT. So it’s easy for me to remove the stuck connector. But, may be much more difficult for a non-technical consumer. I really wanted to like this product, but it’s going back to the store because of the above mentioned designed flaws.

Huge Benefits Tucked in a Tiny Shard of Hardware
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up this unassuming little device with the sole expectation of using the HDMI port (and accompanying conversion hardware) to expand my viewing platform to two screens while traveling by conscripting the obligatory hotel room TV, which are ALMOST universally flat screen & HDMI capable these days, into my arsenal. This worked as expected which has been a huge win for me as I only carry a 11.4 inch ChromeBook with me on the road; if it doesn't fit in my standard sized, uber-optimized backpack it doesn't go with me. That leaves little room for creature comforts like secondary display devices of any useful dimension. I soon realized that what I had purchased was no simple HDMI adapter (although it IS very much that)... This device is the key to hardware expansion and general system-pimping capability when our devices and lifestyles demand an increasingly sleek, portable, and ultimately minimalist approach. My personal choice in portable computing provides me with exactly 3 orifices for input/output consideration: **A single USB-C port which is primarily intended for power supply but also performs as one would expect a USB port to. **A standard USB Port (Again, all the usual included advantages which are admittedly plentiful) **A standard, solo SD Card Port. That's it. If you demand any other IO options you'll have to solder it to the motherboard directly and I have yet to locate a seam for which to gain access to the innards of this laptop incase I were to ever be desperate enough to go full Frankenstein and start welding components on. Oh Yea! There IS a standard 3.5mm Headphone Jack.. So my device officially beats out the human body for number of useful holes but not by much. The HyperDrive 7-Port boasts the following options for pumping your stuff into or out of your devices (Step back ladies... this thing came prepared to take it all): - 3 USB ports: 2 Standard 3.1 (gen 1) pushing 5 Gb/s transfer rate with power pass through included on both and a single Thunderbolt USB-C port @ 60W for pass through power delivery and 6 Gb/s data transfer capacity. - A Single HDMI port pumping 1080p @ 60 Hz all the way up thru 4k @ 30Hz -SD and Micro SD Card readers UHS-1 with 104MB/s transfer rate (Yea.... almost obsolete in comparison with the transfer rate on those USB ports but the SD Card still has a place in our hearts and more importantly in our devices as the last type surviving the removable storage media wars. If you have any operating system back-up volumes or photo/music/movie collections on CD, DVD, 3.5" Floppy or even Reel-To-Reel Magnetic Tape you would be smart to transfer them to SD Card or USB Thumb Drives; not only for all the benefits of solid-state digital storage but also in consideration of the disappearance of the bulky I/O hardware associated with our beloved but ageing storage methods of yesterday. - 3.5mm Headphone Jack - Essentially a passthrough as the unit can connect with male connections of both the USB-C AND 3.5mm Jack when side-by-side. In many configurations the slender HyperDrive can cover up your devices headphone jack when connected to the required USB-C port so this is a nice, simple addition PLUS it adds a second point of contact to keep the HyperDrive even MORE securely anchored to your device. Even with 2 of the 7 available ports being essentially copies of existing ports from your device it is obvious how many options are still afforded to you with the HyperDrive. Display upgrade or expansion is just what inspired me to grab this game changer. (many of our modern devices offer display settings allowing the user to not only mirror the native display to another screen but also incorporate the additional pixels into a seamless-transition and infinitely large desktop only limited by your ability to find and carry these sometimes monstrous items.) I had typecast my travel-friendly chromebook to a role playing nothing more than a storage lacking, not-even-worth-trying-to-enjoy-a-movie-on, internet machine. Adding the HyperDrive graduates my device to a starring roll in almost ANY scenario by simply opening up my hardware profile to accept or dish out information in a way that was literally just not possible with it's barebones I MEAN ummm, PORTABLE factory configuration. The only problematic consideration when utilizing this device is keeping out of trouble because any component you can get access to in your hotel room, parents house, convention center, casino lobby... WHEREVER you find yourself existing during your travels, can be integrated into making your device as capable as you find useful.

This little device saves the day
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I bought my Macbook Pro, I didn't realize that it only had 2 USB-C ports - no USB-3, Thunderbolt, HDMI, etc. - and a headphone jack (shame on me for not reading the specs carefully). This made it difficult to use an external display, usb mouse, etc. Fortunately, I found this little device. It plugs into one of the USB-C ports and allows you to plug in your charger, a USB devices, and an HDMI cable. It also has some other ports that I don't currently use, but may come in handy. The hub fits firmly into my Macbook and doesn't seem to move or come loose. It's a small device, so if you travel, it's a good option. This little device saves the day!

Works seamlessly with a Mac
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buying my first MAC, I was a bit concerned about how USB & other devices would work with it. This HyperDrive Universal port has worked fabulously. I didn't give it 5 starts only because it can get hot when in use, which is a bit freaky ;)

Good but keep this in mind if MacBook has a case!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great device to allow more ports. I needed to be able to plug in standard USB and HDMI and didn't have that on the MacBook Pro M1, so this did the trick. I find they are quite pricey, but I suppose so is everything else you would want/need for a MacBook. My only complaint is --and this is pretty deal breaking-- I bought a case for my MacBook Pro and now this device barely fits plugged in to the laptop. It sits at a bit of an angle and won't completely plug in. Keep that in mind if you're buying this and have a case on your computer!! I had to buy an HDMI to USB-C cable and now I rarely use this hub.

Wasn’t for me.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this item along with the MBP 16 inch and gave it a chance (2 weeks) before making the decision to return. Pros: 1.) attaches to MBP smoothly like an extension of the laptop and expands capabilities. 2.) HDMI had no lags that I could notice while I was using it to watch a movie on my tv. Cons: 1.) the connection between the product and my laptop is unstable and it feels like any wrong move could potentially remove the entire hub. 2.) the product when attached takes up the entire side with the usb c ports so you can’t use it. There are 2 left on the other side but I don’t like how it does this. 3.) while watching a movie, the hub itself got very warm which worried me if it was going to damage my brand new MBP. (Ultimate reason for returning the product )

Great product one flaw
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I found it very useful but the adapter wouldn’t spit properly with my MacBook case on which would bother me and I would just give up using it but now that college is starting and I need it, I have lost it but all in all great product maybe could’ve been 5 stars without the case problem.

A small dock that works
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has a small footprint, which works for me, and I like being able to charge devices. The sd ports, high-speed usb and hdmi are handy. I use them more often then I thought I would. There's an audio port, so I can use my favorite headphones again when I'm out and about. So, if you're looking for a small dock that can do some work without breaking the bank, I found this to be a great choice.

Very flimsy Windows to Mac device dock
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don’t know how this device was supposed to be implemented( which Mac Laptops type was best suited for this device) this device isn’t Secure on my MacBook Air. It would have been best if I had gotten the one with the dongle step-up instead of this thing

Flimsy
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works well— it’s just that I have a hard case shell cover on my Macbook Pro and have to remove it everytime I want to use the adaptor. I do kind of worry that it might snap as it only has the USB-C to connect to the Mac and the mock cord.

Mixed feelings
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don’t hate this but I’m not crazy about it. I mostly just use it for the hdmi. It does work but it can be very delicate. If you accidentally hit it it’ll disconnect. I’d rather something with a cord that plugs in. I feel as if it would be more reliant. Plus the price is a bit high compared to other similar products.

Connects solid and gets the job done
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product! A bit pricey but overall gets the job done for everything I need it for. Connecting sD cards, USB, AUX, ETC.. however with these piece attached to the computer be carful what kind of case you get because this can block out some cases for the new 2019 Mac

Good dock
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It worked well and all the ports worked fine. The only reason for 4 stars is that it fell out easily and didn't work well for a MacBook with a case on it. I did return it for a different one that had a cord as to fit better for my case.

Good value! works great!!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great! Good value for the size. I have a 2 qt and decided I could use a bigger one to be able to cook 3 servings vs 2. could of fit one more Serving if needed. I use it to air fry fresh salmon. It came out amazing! Browned on the top while every bite juicy and tender. it’s not a fancy one that’s digital, it’s simple to use and clean. Would definitely recommend. Don’t hesitate to purchase

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the way it fits perfectly with the MacBook Pro. A very sleek look. Very user friendly. The only thing that I would change is the USB ports should have been spaced just a little farther apart. Maybe even separated from each other.

Good Hyperdrive Port
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is great to use with my Mac computer to hook up other USB devices and stream HDMI through to my TV.
