Bought my daughter an Apple Macbook and the lack of ports was a disappointment for what she had to do at school. Added this mini hub and it serves so many uses. Easy to attach and can be left on the computer when transporting in a protective sleeve.

Thank goodness for this! Since Apple transitioned to the 2-USBC port design, my life has been a tangle of different dongles and adapters to do literally anything. This streamlines things so much! A little pricey but so are most adapters so not a huge downside.

I really like the simple design, however, it doesn't work nicely with the case I use, which is a very understandable design.

So I don't have much to complain about, it is a little pricey as amazon does have cheaper options but the main issue is that it doesn't work if you have a hard case on your laptop. You might be able to snug it in but the connection will not be great. I had to actually take off the bottom case of my Macbook Pro in order to plug it in which obviously defeats the whole purpose of the case then. It's not necessarily their fault but it would be nice if they designed it with that in mind. Otherwise, I do recommend it.

When I purchased the new MacBook Pro 13” Laptop recently my Best Buy sales associate, Ryan, recommended this accessory and I am so grateful that he did. The “HyperDrive” is not a “drive” but an interface adapter that allows users with older USB peripherals to connect them to the MacBook. The reason I call it “essential” is that Apple switched all the ports on the new generation of MacBooks to USB “Type C” format. The HyperDrive is a small box with 2 “male” USB - C plugs on one side and you insert these 2 plugs into the side of the MacBook Pro. On the opposite side there are a total of 4 ports, including 2 USB- “C” and 2 standard USB 2 / 3 ports. There is also a SD Card Slot, a Micro SD Card Slot and, on the back end, an HDMI Video Output port. The HyperDrive is small; it fits into the palm of your hand and it requires no external power. All in all, I think the HyperDrive was a great purchase and a “must-have” MacBook accessory. Thank you, Ryan!

The laptop itself does not have a USB adapter so you will need one for sure. I planned on purchasing a cheaper one from amazon but you definitely run the risk of it braking the adapter of the laptop itself just for its quality. Totally not worth ruining your laptop. This one is very sturdy and also portable it comes with its own little slot to secure it when not In use. I just leave it inside my carry on along with the laptop

I have tried other products, but this is by far the best. It snaps neatly into the Mac USB-type C ports on both sides, without the clumsiness of a dongle cable. It works instantly without needing to fiddle with the cables once the Mac starts up. It is a pleasure to use.

The item works as described but you can find what you need if you buy individual items. Also, it will not power a MAC DVD player. That’s the only downfall.

I was so weary of purchasing a new MacBook Pro mainly because I didn’t want dongles hanging off my brand new, expensive computer all the time. Enter the hyperdrive. I’m not sure there could be a more appropriate and needed purchase for the MacBook Pro user. It maintains the usb-c ports while allowing legacy connections. Not only that, but it helps maintain some of the MacBook astethics. The only con: items quite difficult sometimes to unplug older USB ports from the device without first unplugging the entire apparatus from the MacBook Pro. I am afraid I’ll Break the connectors off if I don’t.

Love this hub's size and design, but the USB 3.0 ports stopped working within a week and I couldn't charge my iPhone or iPad from either one of them. Something happened to fry it. The HDMI and power still worked, but I returned it. I may buy again because I want this to work, but if I have trouble again, it will be the last time.

With more functionality than most doggles this functions as expected and matches the computer.

Due to the Mac conversion to USB-c this hub allowed me to keep my older peripherals connected.

It is very good and useful! I am a photographer and i needed a SD Card adapter and this include it even micro SD card. It works good but sometime it gets out easily from the computer. The price is way to high!

Great expansion hub for my laptop! Data speed is excellent as well as the variety of ports!

This was purchased to go along with a new Macbook Pro. I have spent my entire career working on Windows based products and was concerned that working on a Mac would be challenging. This has not been the case and I have been very pleased with the Apple products that were purchased for the office. Being used to working with two screens, this adapter has quickly become a purchase that I am happy we invested in.

Works as it should.. pretty awesome product. A must have when you have a new MacBook Pro

Small and light enough to keep in a sleeve pocket with a MacBook Air, and it remains secure when inserted. A practical solution for the essential ports needed, but not provided, on a Mac - esp. HDMI and SD memory card.

If you’re getting one of the latest models of the MacBook that has that new special port you have to get this. It is a must have. Will save you so much more headache down the line if you go ahead and get it. It’s expensive yes but it is worth it. I do wish it was a little more flush with the actual keyboard portion of the laptop. It does not line up all the way so there is a little bit of excess above the level of the keyboard. Also make sure it is pushed all the way in where the light at the bottom is illuminated. That will let you know for sure that it is plugged in

This feels like a genuine product for Mac. I use HDMI and SD card as well as a USB mounted wireless mouse everyday with my laptop. This does exactly as specified and the connection is quite good. The only downside - well the one thing that troubles me is the white light within which is a distraction either to me or others nearby. They could've not included that. It's not cheap but I feel like that light is vestigial and could have been avoided in the first place. Overall it's a must have accessory that does what it is supposed to

Great dongle for the Apple. It has lots of ports and doesn’t cover up your fire ports.
