HyperDrive USB not happy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does not get good connection when plugged in, for the price. Think the plugs should have been more in middle of HyperDrive to also sit correctly on computer. That really is a concern. But I need for USB.

Love this product, but not good with a case
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this product once I bought my MacBook, because the lack of USB ports. I love this product, looks and feels great. Same color as my Dark space MacBook Pro. I had the full body skin on the MacBook for a while until the girlfriend bought me the Speck hard case for my birthday, I didn't need the case because I use the Incase sleeve for transportation and storing when not in use, but the case feels good and gives it more protection. But the only problem is I can't use this HUB with the bottom piece case on it, so I decided I did not want to keep removing the case when I want to use the HUB so I cut off the left side piece so I can use the HUB, problem solved.. But watch out when buying this and you have a case, it will not work.

Slim, Sleek, perfectly paired for the new MacBooks
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HyperDrive - USB Type-C Hub for Select Apple MacBook Laptops - Space Gray is the perfect paired device as Apple has mandated the use of USB-C only on the new MacBooks. This unit far exceeds the design, style, and practical use compared to other similar products. This one is slim, sleek, and perfectly pairs with your MacBook without adding unnecessary bulk and cords. Everything you need including HDMI, 2 USB-Cs for charging, etc, SD and MicroSD slots and 2 USB-A ports are all included. PROS - Small, Sleek, Stylish - Matches your MacBook well! - Multiple input ports for all your items all in one without the need for a bunch of dongles. - Solid/Quality built - Easy to use - Plug and play! - No issue/error use when installed properly. - Comes with a small pouch/case to protect it when not in use. CONS - Missing an ethernet port for those who still need it - A minor gap under the unit when plugged in. Small risk of damage to the computer or unit is you press your hand on it. - A bit pricey compared to other options, but worth the investment. By far the best MacBook adapter product I have tried and that is available currently on the market. A must-have product for any modern MacBook owners!

BEST PURCHASE EVER!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this hyperdrive to use with my MacBook Pro. I absolutely love the ease of it and all of the ports that it offers. It works perfectly and I’ve had no issues with it. It’s sleek, no messy wires to worry about.

Handy Gadget
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This item is very handy given the lack of port variation on the new laptops. the connectivity it provides is great and covered everything i needed in a small package. There were two negatives that kept this from being a five star product. 1. It wont fit if you use a cover on your laptop, cover had to be removed to use. Not practical. 2. The first one i got from the store was DOA. I took it back and the second worked fine, this lack of quality control does not inspire confidence.

Great to turn my laptop into desktop performance.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would have loved to give 5 stars; however, it is just a little "touchy" when it comes to operation. Once it is well seated into the 2 ports all the USB and HDMI stuff works great. If one of the children happen to jar it just a little though, it can lose it's connection. Ports or so small I don't know how it could be made more stable. Altogether it is a great addition.

Great, small hub for the new MacBookPros
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great little hub for the MacBook Pro with TouchBar. It's lightweight, compact mainly matches the laptop and has what I need and not what I don't, like the SD slots. I like that it connects directly to the Mac but to put a protective case on the computer and use the hub, I had to modify the case.

Its OK.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works so far after a week. However, it is not robust; if you bump it a little the connect will be interrupted, so if you're connecting external monitors and harddrives it will eject them. You are also not gaining that many ports since you lose 2 Thunderbolt for 1 Thunderbolt, 1 USB-C and a couple of USB-3.1 (plus the HDMI and SD). Lastly, the design is very specific to the current MacBookPro. Which means when the MBP redesigns, this could be trash. A "dongle" type of device would be more future proof. There are less expensive products out there that will last longer. I bought 2 and returned 1.

MacBook 2017 MUST
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product will give you all the missing ports on the MacBook you should need. I would give 5 stars but you can’t use the bottom if you have a case attached. This by far is one of the best dongles!

Works Great So Far!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After upgrading my Mac OS to the most recent version, my Insignia Thunderbolt to HDMI connector stopped working immediately. I could not do anything to get my second monitor to come on. The $99 price tag was a bit difficult, however, I could not do my day-to-day work on my small MacBook Pro screen. I turned off computer, inserted the dock and turned on with HDMI Monitor attached and turned on. My extended screen immediately came to life again. I have yet to use any of the other supported ports on the dock, however, I'm extremely happy the support for the HDMI device worked out of the box. Color match was almost perfect as well, and I do think the light in front of the dock is an added bonus of "tech".

Advertises Thunderbolt but doesn't actually have
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went to Best Buy looking for a simple USB-A to USB-C converter. The ones they had were way overpriced, and this was on sale, so I got this instead. It claims to provide at least one Thunderbolt port, with both of its USB-C ports sporting the Thunderbolt logo. However, when this thing is plugged in to my 16" 2019 MBP, it does not show up as a Thunderbolt device. It is completely exposed over the USB 3.1 buses. Other than that, it seems like it'll do what I actually need it to do: provide USB-A and SD card support. It seems to be equally as thick as the laptop, considering the rounded bottom of the laptop. It comes with a nice faux leather case to help keep the male USB-C connectors protected when carrying the device in a laptop bag.

Inexpensive considering others are charging $300
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works and is one of the less expensive adapters out there considering other companies are charging $300. For that money, you get a few more connections. This adapter matches the space gray finish of my MacBook and it is very small; however, it can get disconnected from the computer when unplugging one of the cables. You may find that you also need a gigabit network adapter, which is not supplied on this adapter (it wouldn't fit due to the small size.

Perfect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HyperDrive is about the size of a pack of chewing gum but packs all the ports you need: HDMI, Thunderbolt, USB-C, microSD, SD and 2 USB 3.0 ports in a super compact aluminum enclosure that matches the MacBook Pro in terms of design and color (it comes in 2 MacBook Pro colors of Space Gray and Silver). No other hub/adapter has that many ports in a smaller form factor. With it, I can easily connect my MacBook Pro to my 4K OLED TV, the LG 5K UltraDisplay which also charges my MacBook, microSD from my GoPro, SD from my camera and a variety of USB flash drives, hard drives and peripherals. Bear in mind that this only works with the latest 2016 MacBook Pro since it has a unique 2 USB-C input connector design which only fits the 2016 Macbook Pro, it WILL NOT work with any other USB-C laptops unless they have the same 2 USB-C ports layout and spacing (very unlikely). The HyperDrive occupies 2 USB-C ports on the 2016 MacBook Pro but returns 2 USB-C ports on the hub as well (one of which supports Thunderbolt 3.0 while the other is purely for USB-C data).

Great adapter for new Macbook
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a new Macbook about a year ago and have been using the Apple Adapter with 1 HDMI, 1 USB, and 1 USB-C slot. I bought this on sale and it is amazing. It sits flush with the computer, but you have to be careful not to pull a cord too fast or it will disconnect the adapter took. If you have a case on your Mac, you will have to remove the bottom part.

It’s what you need.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The downfall of the MPB l, we all know it...no more ports. Dongles for everyone....but hey this is a great little attachment. Fits into my camera gear bag no problems. I do use it as my main at home dock but I feel like it’s a little flimsy for that, I use an hdmi screen for a second monitor and I feel like it pulls at the back of it. Overall happy with it though for on the go use.

It works well...
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this has been a good (a bit overpriced) useful purchase. I use this whoever I need to connect a USB/MicroSD card to my laptop, and so far, so good. It has a sleek design that matches my brushed aluminum (space gray) MacBook Pro and becomes an extension of the laptop when you plug it in. My only gripe is that it dangles a little bit and I have to be overly cautious not to bump it, so I wish it was a bit more sturdy and secure. Oh, also if you have a hardshell case in your laptop, this might interfere with that. (I have to remove the bottom half of mine) which is super annoying. You are better off getting one with a cable attached so you don't run into this issue.
