While I’m not fond of the USB C in the first place, this little guy didn’t help me be anymore confident about it. Does it work yes, but the issue I keep running across is it doesn’t like to stay all the way plugged in. The slightest pull from any thing plugged in will pull it partially out of the usb c sockets. The actual usb sockets are very tight and you can be sure whatever you plug into them is not coming out easily. If only the USB C was like that. I can’t wait for a different option to hit the market.

Looks and works good, but frustrating to use

I purchased the HyperDrive hub to get a USB-C hub that matched my laptop and sat inline with the laptop. The hub itself functioned fine (I used the power pass-through, HDMI, and USB ports), and it looked really good with my laptop. But every time I removed something from one of the ports, the hub came off with it. This issue does not really impede the functioning of the hub, but I found it frustrating to have to plug the hub back in after removing USB keys and cables. I returned the HyperDrive hub and have purchased an alternative hub with a dongle.

Macs these days come with the bare minimum of ports and this brand is not only sleek in design, but fast easy to utilize for all your hook up needs. Spend the extra money and get it with the HDMI feed, never know when it'll come in handy. Just remember to keep it plugged in flush as it does jiggle out time to time but that's hardly a detractor.

So easy to use, plug and play... Got this to use with a second monitor and it worked seamlessly. A little bit on the expensive side but as with the case of all apple products

Product is great and easy to use. It is slim, making it easy to carry and with all the inputs, you don't have to change it out for other ports. Having the all in one hub is amazing!
Does not always fit if you have certain laptop cases and that is the only downside.

Good way to expand ports on MacBook Pro

The hyperdrive is a great product. It has a sleek profile that matches my laptop color and fits seamlessly. The connection is almost instant and I have had no issues with it not recognizing my devices. A problem that I ran into and the only reason for the 4 stars is that since the device needs to be flesh against the laptop the case that I have on my MacBook interfered with the connection. I had to trim my case so the hyper drive would fit. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product as a great way to expand the limited ports that the MacBook 2017 edition offers.

Not having many ports on my MacBook made this purchase a necessity. I marked it down one star because of the price. But it does really well and provides everything I need and seats sturdily in the two ports.

I love this product for my MAC so I can use my HDMI cable when hooking this up to mini projector. The only downside is that if you have a case, you will have to remove it.

The new MacBook Pro has 2 usb-c ports. It took all of 1 day for me to realize I had to have a way to connect usb and other cables. Bit pricey (4-star) but you have to have this.

Works well on one side connection wise but is always loose on the other side , I was hoping they had a magnetic power connection that pops off in case of walk by snag up, thus avoiding ripping the C connection out of the port etc. overall it works fairly well.

better hub for my Mac

I had a similar hub that did not attach directly to my MacBook; it kind of floated in air with cables on all four sides. This hub attaches flush to the side of my MacBook and all the cables come out one side and the back. (Note: it only attaches to the left side, which isn't a problem for me, but might be for others.)

I would say if you are able to pick this up on sale, it would be worth it. Its a solid dongle that has almost every port you would need on an average day. But it's just to expensive for what it is.

'After I bought a Macbook Pro as a replacement for my '14 MacBook Air, I needed an adaptor for all the old ports, which this certainly provides. It'also looks like a seemless extension of my MacBook Pro, which is a plus. Only problem was with a plastic protective outer case on my new laptop, I couldn't close the computer with it plugged in to put it into hibernate/standby - which meant I was constantly disconnecting it. Other than that though, it was a good adaptor, but I returned it anyhow in favor of another competing product.

I like this device but I think it's a little over priced. It's not compatible with most MBP cases but overall it's a good fit. Could include an Ethernet port for the price...
