I bought this HyperDrive Hub to use for my MacBook Pro and iPad when I'm on the go and need something easy to connect to. The cable is long enough to lay flat when connected to my 12.9" iPad Pro, which is a nice touch. It's lightweight, so throwing it in a bag is easy. The headphone jack is handy (since, you know, the 2018 iPad Pro doesn't have one...) when I want to listen to music with my older Bose headphones. I also like having a mirrored screen to watch movies on a TV from my iPad, as well as having an extended screen on my MacBook Pro. With all the USB ports, I can plug in a lot of different things (USB sticks, my phone for transferring files, etc). It's been a great addition to my on the go bag and I would recommend this to anyone who needs something, whether for their home or for travel.

This item, along with the upcoming iPad OS 13, really makes the iPad Pro a true productivity powerhouse! You can input files from just about anywhere. If Apple will add real mouse operation (very limited so far) then I think you have a real Laptop replacement.

Great USB-C hub

This USB-C hub has become a staple in my everyday carry bag. I have Chromebooks and a MacBook that only have one or two USB-C ports, so having a hub can be a necessity. This one has everything you could possibly need - first it has a very long cable between the hub and your device. That may not seem like a big deal but a lot of these hubs sit right against your device and it can make it hard to plug things in. There are 3 USB-A 3.x ports, an HDMI port (so you can plug your device into a TV or monitor), SD and micro SD card slots (so you can expand the storage of your very portable device), an RJ45 ethernet port so you can plug your laptop in to your network, a headphone jack (I tested this and it sounded ok but a little tinny) and finally a passthrough USB-C port that you can charge your device through. That is super handy, because if you are plugging a lot of stuff in to your portable device you may need to plug it in to a wall outlet or drain your battery. The only downside other than the price, is its a little large; but it has to be to support all of those ports. Its very well constructed. My only other tip is purchase 1 or 2 usb-a to usb-c adapters so you can plug usb-c devices into the 3 usb-a ports as well. Great product. I am very happy with it.

works very well but also runs very hot when in continual use. I keep it elevated so it has air on all sides.
