Hyper has done in once again with their Duo Pro 7-in-2. Thoughtful design, excellent build quality, functionality, and aesthetics - this USB-C hub has it all.
I am using this hub on the latest M1 MacBook Pro and I have to say this is easily the best dual USB-C hub I've used. What's the second best? Well, it is also a dual USB-C from Hyper so... Hyper has really won me over with their peripherals, and this hub is no different.
As expected this is a plug-and-play hub that works perfectly the second it is attached. Securely held in place by not only the dual USB-C prongs, but also magnetically. There is very little play or give, and I have yet to inadvertently dislodge the hub from my MacBook.
Aesthetically this is a slim device that matches my MacBook color perfectly. Not bulky or oversized at all, and no annoying dongle flopping around. This just seems like a natural extension of my laptop.
Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 4K 60, USB-A, USB-C, 3.5mm Audio, Micro SD, and Gigabit Ethernet all packed into one compact, slim device. Every port works flawlessly. Passthrough charging and the ability to adapt this for iPad Pro use make this even better. The Ethernet port tilts which keeps the hub from bending or rising, as well as keeping the design slim. Hyper really has put a lot of thought into the design.
There isn't anything not to love. Portable, lightweight, useful - so many positives. I have already recommended this hub to a few of my colleagues. This is a definite 5 star review!

The Hyperdrive Duo Pro 7-in-2 USB-C Hub is a useful adapter for some MacBook’s, but not all.
Keep in mind my review reflects the rating for use with a MacBook Pro 2021 only.
The Hyperdrive comes with 2 adapters, one for the MacBook pro/Air 2016-2020, and the other for a 2021 MacBook pro. There is also a USB-C male to female adapter for so you can use the Hyperdrive with an iPad or PC. The adapter can be placed on either side of your Mac (2016-2020 only) as long as you have 2 USB-C ports. The adapter has 2 USB-C ports, yet only one of them is 40gbps the other is 5gbps. There is also a USB-A, a gigabit ethernet port, 3.5mm audio jack, a Micro SD slot (104MB/S) and an HDMI input that supports 4K/60Hz.
When using this on a MacBook 2016-2020, this is a great hub. It actually adds many ports that the computer didn’t already have, for ex the HDMI, USB-A, micro sd and ethernet port. This is also great for the new MacBook Air as it fits nice and adds all the same extra features. But this adapter provides little to nothing for the new MacBook pro’s (2021). The only thing this adds is an ethernet port and a USB-A port, but at the cost of taking up 2 of you USB-C ports. Grated this does have 2 USB-C ports, keep in mind that only 1 of them are actually thunderbolt 4 speeds. The rest of the port, the MacBook already has, so its not really ideal of you own the new MacBook pros. It’s also worth noting that when this is plugged into a MacBook (2021), the lid does not close all the way and if left attached, could damage the screen.
Overall, if you have the new MacBook Air or an older MacBook pro (2016-2020), then this is a great option for a hub. It has all the components one would need, and it’s made of good quality aluminum. On the other hand, if you’re like me and own a MacBook pro-2021, then this is kind of pointless, as your MacBook already has most of these inputs. Not to mention, this should not be left in when you are on the move, as it will damage your MacBook’s screen. Therefore, I would not recommend this for the new MacBook pro 2021 or later.

Face it, if you own a newer MacBook, you know how much it sucks not having all of the necessary ports that the Hyper - DUO PRO 7 comes with. I love the reliability of my Mac, but I hate these inconveniences.
The Hyper - DUO PRO 7-in-2 is great! If you use your Macbook for work, you definitely need this. My job recently switched over from desktops to a monitor and a Macbook for employees. Well, I needed some way to connect the HDMI cable to my computer. I came across the Hyper - DUO PRO 7-in-2 and I have to say I absolutely love it!
You get just about every port you could ever need for a MacBook. HMDI, ethernet, usb-c, USB (charging and data), audio jack port, AND a micro SD port!! How incredible is that! I no longer have to worry about not having the right adapter. This little baby has it all!
It comes with two different support clips (one for older Mac and one for newer). The only downside to it is that it does not fit my Insignia hard-shell cover, which was a major disappointment. But that's not an issue anymore. I love the convenience of the Hyper - DUO PRO 7-in-2.
If you own a MacBook, do yourself a favor and get yourself a Hyper - DUO PRO 7-in-2! You will not regret it. It super responsive, and I have had no issues whatsoever with it.
I would highly recommend it to anyone!

The hyper DUO Pro 7 in 2 USB C HUB adds functionality that adds so many useful ports to my MacBook Air. If there is one thing that I wish I could change it would be to have an hdmi port and ethernet port in order to help make working from home easier. Having hardwired connections adds more stability to the home work setup without needing a dedicated docking station that takes up too much space on your desktop. The Hyper DUO pro is well crafted and seems like it will last a long time with repeated plugging and unplugging. The HUB also includes an adapter in order to use it on a 2021 MacBook Pro. The HUB includes a USB-C cable for IPAD or PC that makes it even more useful. Even thought it is advertised as MacBook case compatible your experience may vary based on the car manufacturer. I had no issue with one of my apple approved MacBook cases however an aftermarket case that I purchased seemed to leave too wide of a gap making the HUB unusable. I could easily modify the case to make it work however there is no need since I do have another case. Overall this is a great well priced HUB that adds functionality to your MacBook Pro or air

The great thing about MacBooks is the simplicity of their design, however with that comes the lack of some ports and connections that you may need from time to time.
The Hyper - DUO PRO 7-in-2 USB-C Hub for MacBook 2016-2022 MacBook Pro/MacBook Air helps take care of those things that you might need that aren’t available to you.
The Hyper - DUO PRO 7-in-2 USB-C Hub has seven different connections available including: USB-C 40gbs / 100W power, 4K HDMI port / USB-A / Gigabit Ethernet / 3.5mm audio combo jack / USB-C 5gbs / and a Micro SD card slot.
The Hyper - DUO PRO 7-in-2 USB-C Hub also has a magnetic grip to keep it connected to your MacBook.
What’s also great about the The Hyper - DUO PRO is it’s compatible with most MacBook Cases which was a worry for me as I have a case to protect my MacBook from damage etc
Construction of the The Hyper - DUO PRO is sturdy and if just feels like a quality product in the hand.
Everything works flawlessly when connected which is all you need from a hub like this, don't hesitate to add this to your workflow.

Perfect Macbook Accessory

I love my macbook. It runs smoothly, looks great and is overall a great laptop. There is one drawback though, Apple decided to only include 4 usb c ports and no additional i/o ports. Thats where this USB Hub comes in and gives the flexibility of several more i/o ports while not detracting from the overall form and look of the Macbook.
The build of the hub is great. It's made of the same feeling aluminum as the macbook. It plugs in perfectly to the side of the Macbook and unlike a dongle, stays firmly attached to the side of the computer.
The ports it adds are great, you don't lose andy of the USB C ports and gain, hdmi, usb A, ethernet, an extra headphone jack, and micro sd.
There really isn't anything bad to say about this hub. If you need extra ports, this is by far the best option to attach to the side of your laptop without worries about extra cords flopping around and you'll be able to close up your laptop and walk around without having to detach the hub, which is great for portability. Overall highly recommend.

works great with my Macbook, integrates well and provides the connectivity and expansion capabilities I need to work with various devices. I use the HDMI port to connect a 4k monitor and it works flawlessly. Having the ability to use MicroSD cards and other accessories is a huge plus. Macbooks in general were way ahead of the curve in removing some of the cumbersome and larger ports from their hardware, at times this introduces some roadblocks or inconveniences. With this USB-C hub I retain an easy way of powering my Macbook, ability to easily connect a monitor, utilize a wired Gigabit network connection, a headphone jack as well as USB-A and USB-C ports. The only downside (and it is understandable) it does not work well with my case, I found that it works better without. Given that I am working remote most of the time this is not a huge issue, but if I start travelling again, I may need to seek out a new case to work with this hub, I really can't go back to not having the options this device provides.

Hyper Duo Pro MacBook hub is a life changer!

This Hyper DUO PRO 7-in-2 USB-C Hub, as the name suggests, is a 7 port USB-C hub and this particular model is for MacBook Pro & MacBook Air from 2016-2022 ONLY. They do have other models for different computers, so be sure to check that before you purchase. Basically, this takes the 2 USB-C ports on your MacBook and turns them into: Gigabit Ethernet, MicroSD, USB-A, 3.5mm audio and HDMI ports and then it gives you back your USB-C ports as 5Gbps & Thunderbolt 4-40Gbps. The Thunderbolt port allows for 100W power passthrough! This means you can still charge your MacBook while using this or practically any other USB-C device.
I find this hub to be very useful as I still use USB-A cords to charge my iPhone, I can now do this via the hub. I have some older earphones that I love and I can finally plug them in again to play music! The HDMI port is extremely handy for my presentations. I haven’t used the MicroSD slot yet or the ethernet port, but how awesome to have them at the ready. Oh, they also include a universal USB-C adapter.
This pops right into the 2 USB-C slots on my MacBook, the little blue light goes on to let me know there is power and I am good to go. It firmly attaches and stays put. I have a case on my MacBook, so I use this without the included magnetic grips. I would guess with the included grips, it would attach just as well if you don’t have a case, but I’m not risking taking off my case even for a moment just to test that.
Overall, this is a fantastic accessory addition to my MacBook. It increases my ability to do anything I want/need to do and it does it well. I would definitely recommend this hub.

Solid hub though ethernet port is badly designed

As more and more laptops have switched to including only USB-C ports, hubs like the Hyper DUO PORT 7-in-2 USB-C by Hyper have become essential to letting you plug in older—and in many cases new—peripherals that don’t have USB-C interfaces.
This hub is specifically made for MacBook Pro and Air models from 2016 to 2022. These are the ones that have two USB-C ports on the left side. This hub has two USB-C plugs that fit directly into the laptop ports. On my MacBook Pro (14” 2021), the hub fits well but not perfectly. There is still a bit of a gap between the hub and the laptop. However, it’s snug and I am not worried about it becoming loose and disconnecting. The box contains edge covers that will cover the gap, but I found that with the my Best Buy case on the laptop, the hub cannot plug in enough to get a connection. So I don’t use the edge cover.
In case you want to use this for a device that isn’t a MacBook Pro or Air from 2016-2022, the package includes an extender. So there is some flexibility.
Before buying any hub, you should to check if it has the ports and features that you need. This one, for example, can support only one 4K external display, which for most people may be ok. It also includes ports for one HDMI, one USB-A, one audio out, 2 USB-C, one micro SD card, and ethernet.
One annoying glitch however is the ethernet port is easy to plug into, but a pain to pull the cable out from. The trick to getting it out is to press the hinge of the port while simultaneously pushing down on the ethernet jack while pulling it out. If you don’t do this, it will feel stuck. For this, I would deduct a half star.

Excellent hub for your MacBook.

The Hyper DUO Pro 7-in-2 USB-C Hub is an excellent choice for anyone who owns a 2016-2022 MacBook Pro or Air and is looking for a great hub. The Duo Pro comes in space-grey so it matches the look of the MacBook Pro and it fits directly into the Thunderbolt ports on the side of the MacBook which makes it look as though it was meant to go with the MacBook. I really appreciate that the look and the style match the MacBook and the fit and finish of the product is really great.
This hub uses the newer USB4 standard which is fully compatible with ThunderBolt4 and allows this hub to provide full 40Gbps, 100W power delivery, or up to 6K 60Hz video on the USB4 port and still have full speed and capability on the additional 6 ports. I like that the ethernet port is full Gigabit and it latches open to keep the slim profile of the hub matching with the look of the MacBook.
Due to the way this sits on the side of the MacBook, with the plastic adaptor that also provides a magnetic grip to the MacBook itself, the lid of your MacBook may or may not be able to fully close as some others have reported on this hub. But, I think personally this is fine as I don't feel that it is really wise to travel around with this hub still attached to the side of your MacBook. it uses the 2 ThunderBolt ports and the plastic adaptor to stay attached to your laptop and trying to jam this and your MacBook into a bag or to walk around with it still attached for long distances just seems like a bad idea to me in the first place, so the fact that it doesn't allow the MacBook lid to close fully is fine in my book.

Just what I needed

I've tried several USB-C hubs with my MacBook Air M1, but for the most part they just didn't cut it for one reason or another. But the Hyper DUO Pro 7 works perfectly for me. First off, it looks like an original Apple product so it blends right it. Between the fact that it connects to both USB-C ports and also because of the included plate to hold it in place, it fits snug and doesn't feel flimsy. The biggest issue I have had with other hubs is either lacking certain ports, or the ports not being powerful enough. Because this connects to both USB-C ports on the laptop, it enables it to function more efficiently. For example, the USB-C on the hub allows for 40Gps speeds and the HDMI can handle a full 4K at 60Hz. if you look closely at the specs on many other hubs, those numbers are usually half of that. For me personally, I really like having the Ethernet port. Whenever I can, I prefer this over wi-fi. Unfortunately, having this port built into the computer seems to have become a thing of the past. This solves the problem. For me the only negative is that the card slot is Micro SD instead of full size SD. As a photographer, full size is needed as that is what many cameras use. Things such as drones and such usually use Micro SD. But if it were full size SD instead you could at least use the adapter with the Micro SD card that they usually come with and make everyone happy. But honestly, that's my only complaint.

Great add on to my Mac laptop

My plan for the Hyper DUO Pro 7-IN-2 USB-C Hub is to plug in devices that stay on my desk at home. Then I only have to disconnect the hub from my laptop when I take the laptop somewhere. When I return I simply plug the hub back in. Pretty easy. Mac laptops (older versions) can be a bit frustrating because they only have one type of connection. This hub makes it easy to plug in all different types of peripherals. I think it should come standard with every Mac laptop! I did recently get a new Mac laptop and will continue to use this hub for some of my peripherals. With wireless networks everywhere the Ethernet port isn’t really used anymore at least by me. I love that I can plug my printer in directly. I have several, used for different types of print jobs and sometimes the network gets confused. With this hub I can connect the printer directly to the laptop. Also my older Mac laptop doesn’t have an audio input and this little hub takes care of that. If you have a Mac laptop, this is a must. I'm considering a second one for travel.

Great 7-in-2 USB-C Hub

7-in-2 USB-C Hub works great. When I purchased the Macbook pro I noticed and knew that this laptop did not have a lot of ports. What the Hypr - Duo Pro has two (2) - USB-A with 50 Gbps and two (2) - USB-C with transfer speeds of 40 and 50 Gbps and also 60 and 100W power delivery. A 4k HDMI port and finally a SD card slot and micro Sd slot. It connects to the two USB-C ports on the laptop. There are some minor cons but nothing to upsetting. The SD card fit is very secure so I hope down the line I may damage a card trying to eject it. One nice feature is that this dock works better than some of the other ones I have used are the non-thunderbolt ports can be used as a charging port and also hooking up an external monitor. I stated earlier one port is 100W and then 60W of charging power. I also read that this unit can use a charging extension cord and be able to be connected to a ipad pro or any device that has a USB-C port. I bought another one for my other macbook pro and will keep purchasing Hyper docks going forward.

The Ethernet port makes this stand out

In a world of dongles this is the one I will carry with me to most jobs. It does fit a little loose and the life longevity is a bit questionable but those are my only complaints. Everything else is so convenient. Two USB C ports, an HDMI, one USB 3.0, headphone jack, MicroSD, and an Ethernet port. The last port is what make this stand out from all the other dongle/docks in my opinion. The build quality seems ok for it’s intended use however it’s worth mentioning that one of my Hyper docks had the glue come loose and now the guts of the unit just slide free inside the aluminum case. I am hoping that is an isolated incident. It seemed that the glue problem was indicative to the design of my earlier unit. The build of this unit is quite different and I don’t really see how it could apart but time will tell I guess. I prefer this style of docking station over the docks with the hard-wire connected USB C interface cables as those can develop shorts over time which renders the dock useless. A removable USB C cable interface would be a welcome feature.

May be the Best USB Hub for a MacBook Air

This Hyper Duo Pro 7-in-2 USB-C hub is designed to fit my Apple MacBook Air "almost" perfectly, both in design and style. The material used to make the casing of this gorgeous USB-C hub seems to be very similar to, if not the same, material my MacBook is made from (a grey/silver color). It's smooth to the touch, like the MacBook, and looks like it belongs on the MacBook. The only thing I noticed about fit is that it appears the notebook must be open when installing it, and if I close the MacBook lid with it inserted, it does not close tight, but it is easy enough to remove and store (it's small). There are included accessories if your MacBook is in a protective case. However, for me, this was a non-issue, and I did not need the extra parts.
The USB-C Hub itself is very useful because it gives you ports that Apple left out, such as an HDMI Port to hook up an external monitor, a headphone jack (if you don't want to use battery-powered Bluetooth headphones), an ethernet port, a "standard" (USB-A 5Gbps) USB port, two USB-C Ports (One has USB-C PD 100W & 40Gbps speed, the other has 5Gbps speed), and a Micro-SD Card interface (104Mbps) (if you have some cameras or phones with Micro-SD storage, or you can potentially use this to add removable storage to expand you MacBook).

Poor ethernet port, can't close MacBook lid

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I guess I don't understand some of the design decisions manufacturers make. I'm sure there are reasons why this product is designed the way it is but I don't know how said design passed testing / quality control. The ethernet port is so poorly designed I just can't get past that to appreciate the other qualities of the dock. Not only is it difficult to swing the port thingy up / open to plug in your cable, but it's nearly impossible to unplug said cable. I literally thought I was either going to break the swing up part of the dock and / or break my cable.
The other issue I have is that with the supplied adapters (depending on what kind of MacBook you have) you can't close the lid. And, if you forget this fact and try to quickly close the lid, you will most likely damage the screen, possibly even cracking it depending on how much force you use.
For the audio port, since the dock doesn't actually have an audio pin that plugs into the MacBook's native audio port, it shows up as a generic USB audio doohickey in system settings. I don't know if there are any drawbacks to this, but it's just another reason I wouldn't recommend this.
