The Hyper Ultra 40 electric bike stands out with its robust build. Equipped with front suspension, disc brakes, and fat tires, it rides more like a powerful cruiser than a typical e-bike. The spacious under-seat compartment adds practicality, especially for city rides. Notable features include four-speed modes, a lock-and-key battery, and a 7-speed twist shifter. Assembly is straightforward, requiring minimal tools, and with a four-hour charge time, I was riding basically out of the box. This bike could hold up for winter biking, but I'll be using this for warm-weather cruising.

Overall this bike is a lot of fun and a great starter e-assist bike that will making getting around town alot of fun. The combination of a short wheel base and small diameter fat tires as well as a decent front shock give it confidence over urban, trail and light off road conditions. Beware of shipping issues. After an initial delay the 2nd attempt shipping on time, but the box was beat up and the bike came with some damage likely from the shipper. The seller responded quickly regarding the damages, and expressed intent to pay for any repairs needed. REI was able to repair some of the issues but would not work on anything near the electrical system, as they only do this work on bikes they sell. Hyper continues to be supportive of completing repairs but it is important to note that they do not seem to have any repair function internally and do not seem to have and 3rd party affiliate repair function either. This just means it's a bit of trial and error to find a shop that will work on it especially if it might be related to the electrical system. For repairs in hindsight I would recommend asking for a repalcement rather than trying to get it fixed, unless it is something simple enough to fix yourself. Hyper seems very willing to ship any replacement parts needed.

This bike has a lot of pick up, especially on level 3. I like riding it on level one to get a little exercise but my son likes it on three for speed. It's easy to adjust the levels and gears. It rides really smooth with the large tires and has a nice little compartment under the seat. I feels a lot like a moped since it rides low. It's not as easy to ride as my regular hybrid bike or other e-bikes I've ridden (design is more like a regular mountain bike). It's hard to get good leverage peddling when sitting so low. The bike feels like really good quality and was easy to assemble on delivery.

Great basic electric bike. UPS did take forever to ship. Easy assembly from the box, charging is simple and the lights tell you battery life. A little surprised there is no throttle, you do have to keep pedaling to get the electric power. Over all great bike to help make riding easier.

Although the shipping time was a bit longer than expected, it was more than worth it for the product. This e-bike was incredibly easy to assemble with minimal tools needed to do so. Plus, due to the detachable battery, I could ride the bike almost immediately once I finished putting it together. Although this differs from your traditional e-bike in a couple of ways, I love the changes that Hyper made. You do have to peddle for the electric power to kick in, but not only does this save battery life, it also allows you to get a light workout in while heading to your destination. On top of this, the adjustable power levels allow you to determine how much you want to peddle, which I found perfect for the trails. The fat tires are made so that this bike can stray from the road, which tends to be very useful if your destination is not a straight-cut path. I primarily chose to buy this bike in order to save money on gas while heading to work, but it exceeded my expectations for the process. Whenever I get the chance, whether on the road or on the trails, I choose to ride it. Whenever I get tired I can simply raise the power level to further assist me. One of the only downsides I found with this bike is that the seat is not easily adjustable, which makes it hard to get the power to kick in at times. Overall, I adore this bike. With a quick charge-up time, plenty of range, useful storage compartment, and off-road capabilities, this bike is perfect

My daughter didnt love it at first because you HAVE to peddle the whole time and she didnt know to turn the power up more. Now she says she likes it more than her friend Drews more expensive bike. I was hesitant to buy it because they scare me. But she was the only one of her friends without one. Shes yet to be stranded with a dead battery and shes been lightening my load of being a single mom of 4 by driving herself to school everyday. She also "needed" a banana seat so i searched and searched for one that (hopefully) cannot fit two children on one bike for my own safety concerns. Found one! Couldn't be happier with my purchase. She was a very happy 12 year old this past Christmas morning!!! Thank you!
