Quite blown away!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was skeptical about this little device, for sure. Can something this small and portable really provide massage and heat therapy? Yes, yes it can...and very well I might add. For the size of this pod, it delivers a surprising amount of vibration and you can fine tune the amount of vibration on 3 different levels. I found it to be super useful on my shoulder which has some issues as well as my lower back and gluteal which suffer from a bit of sciatica. Since the pad has an adhesive nature to it, you can just stick it on and kind of forget about it. The more surprising part for me was how much heat this little pod can put out. I found it to be easily on par with something like small heating pad that you would plug into the wall. And I also found the heat to be fairly evenly distributed across the entire pad. The pads can be reused up to 20 times...at least that's what they say but as long as your skin isn't too oily and you keep the adhesive portion of the pad clean, you can extend this beyond 20 uses. The battery last about an hour but of course your mileage may vary depending on how much heat and/or vibration that you choose. The pads replacements run $29 for a package of 3. If you think about the price per pad, its not cheap by any means but each pad can be used up to 20 times (and even more from my testing). Probably my only complaint is that for the price, I wish it came with a carrying case. Since it's designed to be portable and there's multiple pieces to manage (the pod and the pads) a carrying pouch or case would have been a nice inclusion.

Awesome little portable heated muscle massager!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow! I'm very impressed with the Hyperice Venom Go heated massager. It's light weight but really has some serious performance. The vibration modes are neat, but I found that the first setting of continuous on works the best for me. I also found that using a little bit of weight, either holding it in place with my hand, or placing it between myself and a chair cushion to keep it pressed nice and firmly helps the small motor transmit the best massage. The heat feature is unbelievable for how small this is. The number 1 setting is all that is really needed as it gets plenty warm, but the second and third setting get so hot that a few times I was worried it might be too hot and leave a burn, but it doesn't it just feels super hot and soothing. The battery life is outstanding too. Even with the heat on high, and the vibrations set on continuous, I was able to get multiple 10-15 minute sessions without it ever running out of juice. The sticky pads are neat as well. They stick on nice and tight, but pull back off cleanly without leaving behind any residue, and without pulling my hairs either. The one gripe I have is the blue tooth set up never did work with mine. I downloaded the app, and tried to link it up with my phone, but it never pairs. My phone can see the Venom Go, but when I click on it it says this device must be used with an app, and the app keeps searching forever. I restarted my phone, and I deleted and re downloaded the app but still nothing. The Venom Go works great without the app though, and the 3 buttons are easy to use and understand.

Treatment on the go
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use it mostly on my lower back and calf but it can go on wherever you need it. It has 10 minute timer, not adjustable but it worked for me. The vibration has three mode settings, all the same intensity. It has continuous vibration, pulse and another pulsing rhythm. I wish the massaging vibration was more intense. I found it a bit more intense when laying down and have gravity help push it down onto my body. The heat, however, was pretty hot at the highest level and sometimes uncomfortably hot in more sensitive parts like the chest area. It has three settings for heat and I was using the level 2 for most of the treatments that I did. Real easy to use. Stick the pad on the body part that you want to treat. Turn the Go pod on. Set the vibration mode and heat intensity then attach the pod on the pad. The pod does not do anything until it is attached to the pad. It attaches with magnets and it is strong enough to hold it in place while walking. Wouldn’t put it through more than that though. It takes about two hours to charge the battery and it lasts about 42 to 50 minutes depending on what settings I was using. It comes with three pads and each of them is good for twenty uses. I haven’t seen replacement pads being sold at Best Buy yet. The adhesive leaves a little bit of the sticky stuff on your skin but it’s not that bad. It is approved by TSA to carry in your carry on according to Hyperice so you can take it with you on your next trip.

Venom Go >> good for evening relaxation therapy...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has turned out to be a very nice solution for spot treatments while “putting up my feet” at the end of the day. The adhesive pad was something new to me, but it works well and gives complete coverage to just about any area. Once the pad is in place, it is very easy to pop on the pod with the magnetic buttons. The pod has built-in controls, but using the app to control the pod works best for me since wherever the pad is placed, it is very easy to fully control the pad using the phone app. There are 3 heat levels, and the highest level was a bit too much for me, but it’s there if needed. The heating is almost instant, maybe takes 10 seconds to get up to the set level. Vibration can be set separately, with a steady, pulsing, and “pattern” vibration. The vibration is a nice touch, and seems to help with relaxing a knotty or tight muscle. I guess the main concern with this unit is the pads, which seem pretty sticky and so far it seems they can be reused many times before they have to be replaced. I make sure to put the pad on clean skin and put to cover plastic back on the sticky side when not in use. Would be nice if a carrying case was included, but the packaging this comes in works just fine for keeping everything together – so not a big deal for use at home. Overall this is a nice device for a little "spot treatment" that can be slapped on quickly and works immediately.

Nice way to Heat your muscles
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a nice way to to get a heated pad that will also soothe your muscles and can be placed where you need to put it and have it stay while you get some heat and soothing vibrations. After you charge it it was easy to pair, though I am starting to get a bit annoyed with everything getting an app on my phone. I understand its nice to control and everything with out having reach behind you but having another app is just starting to get to be a chore every time you get a device. That said setup and use is easy. You take one of the reusable pads and place it on your body where you need the heat and vibration. They claim the pads can be used for about 20 uses and while I haven't gotten to that 20 I've gotten about 8 uses so far from my pad and still going strong. The pads are a neat way to use magnets to clamp on, and just need to make sure you have the pads to get the relief. You will need help for a few places on your back and the pads aren't horrible to use and work well. Its a small enough unit that it can fit in the bag to go on the go and travel to get relief. I like it.

This is a great device you won’t be dissatisfied.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This device is really good. One of the things that I like is that the pads are really big. This is great and covers a nice size area on the body. The heat on the devices got a lot hotter that I expected, this was a great surprise… The heat was even and consistent throughout the process of using the device. One of the downfalls with the device is that is doesn’t hold a charge for very long. After one session, it needs to be charged. I guess this isn’t all bad considering you get the charging tools with it I just expected it to be stay charged for at least 2-3 uses. You can only use this machine at 30 minutes at a time. I would like the time for the use to be a little longer but 30 minutes is ok to start out with. Another thing that I enjoy about this machine is that I can use it at work and there is any cords attached. The Bluetooth is such a great tool to be able to use this machine as you are doing house work and the adhesive is very sticky so it stays in place. I highly recommend this device.

Convenient and portable, wearable massage device!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hyperice Venom Go is a great piece of therapeutic wearable technology. Following are my observations after testing it out: - The Venom Go comes with three pads, each good for up to 20 uses, the pod device that attaches to the pads and a USB-C cord to charge the pod. - It was extremely easy to set up and follow the directions. Download he HyperIce App and it easily connects to the Venom Go pod via BlueTooth. - The pads stick directly to your skin and then the pod attaches magnetically to the pad. - When turned on, the pod allows for three different vibration settings and three different heat settings. It is pretty cool how when turned on the pod transmits the heat and vibration throughout the entire pad. - The pads are 5" x 3" so they don't cover a real large area of the body at one time. If you have a large area you want to massage, you would need to either move it multiple times, or get more than one Venom Go. However, given the size and design of the pad, it makes it very convenient pinpoint specific muscles that need attention, or to apply to smaller areas of the body and areas that aren't flat. For example, I can wrap it around an arm, leg or shoulder muscle and get the full treatment on those areas that I might not be able to get as easily with a larger pad. The other great thing about the size is the portability. I can take these pads and pod anywhere, as it is small enough to pack in any bag and it is even approved by TSA for carry-on. - Upon turning the pod on, you can set three different levels/patterns of vibration and three different heat levels to customize the massage the way you want it. - The HyperIce App allows you to control several functions from the App, including the heat and vibration level and setting a specific amount of time for the session. The default session is 10 minutes, but you can set it for however long you want on the App, or pause it if needed. You can also do firmware updates and get other information. The App can be used to run multiple HyperIce devices. - There are also buttons on the pod that allow you to control the vibration and heat, along with LED indicators to show you what level they are on. There are also battery life indicators and a Bluetooth indicator, as well as the power on/off button. It is very easy to use with or without the App. The only thing I found more convenient in using the App, is when I have it attached to my back or someplace where I can't easily see the indicator, then it is easier to control on the App. Also, if using the buttons on the pod, then you get a 10 minute session, whereas a session controlled through the App can be set for however long you like. If you are looking for a wearable massaging device, the Hyperice Venom Go, is a very convenient, portable device that will allow you to use it on the go and allow you to target whichever muscles need it most. It is a very cool piece of technology!

Great targeted heat and massage device
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Venom Go is a targeted heat and massage device that does an excellent job. The system consists of an adhesive pad and a pod that connects to the pad. The kit came well packaged and includes 3 adhesive pads, the control pod and a USB C cable for charging. The pads measure approximately 4” X 6” and come covered with a plastic cover that you save to replace after each use. Hyperice says you should be able to use each pad for 20 sessions or until the pad no longer sticks to you skin. Hyperice sells additional pads when needed. The Pod provides buttons to power on the unit, adjust the heat level and massage settings. There are 3 heat levels ranging from 105 to 113 degrees. There are 3 massage settings which consist of constant massage, pulsating massage and a combination of the two. There is a Hyperice app so you can Bluetooth to the Pod to allow you to adjust the heat and massage settings and select session times. The app worked well enough but I found that I would just manually adjust my settings using the Pod. After you first charge the unit, you place one of the pads in the desired location and attach the Pod. The pads have 2 magnetic contact points and the Pod connects to these points and snaps tightly into place. You can then turn on the Pod with the power button at the top of the Pod. Once the unit is on there are buttons on each side that allows you to adjust the level of heat and the settings for massage. I found the Venom very easy to use. Placement of the pads was simple and control of the Pod was as well. I was very surprised at how well this delivered heat and massage to my sore muscles. The pad distributes the heat and massage evenly over the entire pad to the selected areas. I found this also to be very relaxing. I have dealt with some levels of anxiety for a long time and found this a great way to relax even if I didn’t have sore muscles. Unlike other large neck wrap style heat and massagers this system is very compact and allows you to use it almost anywhere on the body. I really have enjoyed this product and would recommend it to anyone for sore muscle relief or just to relax to.

It works, but not sure it's worth it
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked this up to see if there is a better way to help sore muscles better than a regular heating pad. This I tonight would be nice because it's very portable and able to focus on the place you put it. The package comes with the heating/message Bluetooth unit, 3 reusable pads for use up to 20 times each, and a usc cable (no brick), and well laid out instruction manuals. I did charge mine for a while before I started it up, knowing it may need update firmware, and it did, but that only took about 4 minutes to update. The pads connect to the base with magnets, easy on and off, and it does not turn on if not connected to a pad, so good to know if traveling, it won't get kicked on while in a bag. The adhesive appears to work well, does not pull my hair to much on my legs if I use it on my calves. Also does not seem to irritating, but I do not have that sensative of skin. I will have to see how my wife does if she uses this. The app installed quickly, I created an account and synced within 5 minutes, layout is simple on the app. The only thing this gains by using it for me is a timer you can set. Otherwise heat level and vibration pattern can both be adjusted on the base unit itself manually. I guess if this was set up in the middle of my back, the phone heat and vibrate controls would be nice if I couldn't reach it, but that means it's a 2 person job anyway to get it in place, so they could do the manual controls for me. As for function, heating is good, it does get toasty. The vibration is ok, above the highest setting in my phone vibration, similar to higher end "personal messagers" is a good comparison. I feel this is a useful item, but value wise, I think it is about triple where the Base unit should fall at in cost. The company is going to make it's money selling the refills which for what they are, are actually reasonably priced. Overall It is a bit of niche product, and I may use it about once a week for small strains. It won't replace a heating pad, but will be nice for traveling. It is not a "must have" type item.

Great Idea Limited
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hyperice Venom Go is an interesting product that almost fulfills its promise. It is compact, light, and relatively effective, but has some caveats that should be considered. First off the the device works pretty well for soothing aching muscles. The device offers three different vibration modes and three different heat settings. Even at the lowest heat setting it gets pretty warm. I tried it on max a couple times, but depending on where you place the device it might be too warm. Fortunately, you can change the setting after you place the device on. The initial pack of three pads nets you about 60 uses. I suppose that's decent, but replacements are rather spendy if you plan to use this device a lot. Pad placement is also a challenge for certain spots. I wanted to use it on my shoulders near my neck and found it difficult to get it placed with even contact. The pad to device contact is magnetic and the field was strong enough that after three uses it stripped one of the metal contacts out of the pad. Fortunately it still made contact when I tried using the pad again. Does make me wonder if you can really get the 20 uses out of each pad though. Next, the battery life isn't spectacular. I used the device fully through two 10 minute cycles before needing to charge it again. I was using the vibration and heat so I am sure one can improve battery life if on the go by dialing things down some. Overall, the Hyperice Venom Go is a neat idea, but the longevity, placement issues, and pad quality do make me question its value. It might be something to take a look at if you are heavy into fitness and find yourself with sore muscles afterwards, but just make sure you are near a plug if you do.

Relief where you need it
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hyperice - Venom Go – Black This small device is the modern-day answer to the heated water bottle. In addition to the heating feature, there’s a vibration feature added for good measure. This Venom Go gets applied to an area of the body that needs relief. It attaches to one of the three included pads via magnet, so the connection is secure. Each pad supposedly can be reused up to 20 times, but I was not able to confirm this for this short review. Here’s hoping that it does get somewhere near that number of uses, since the replacement pads cost $10 each and are sold in packs of three for $29. When using a pad, it’s important to remember to keep the protective cover for the pad, since once the pad is used, you reattach it to the protective cover for future use. You’ll want to download the app that helps connect the unit via Bluetooth to your phone. While the app is useful for making the connection, once connected it’s best use seems to be for instructions for using it on various parts of the body. However, once you get the hang of using the device, most users probably won’t need to refer to the app again for their everyday use. There are lots of nice lights and buttons on the unit to let you know things like: • Battery life • Bluetooth indicator • Heat level • Vibration level Both my wife and I tried the unit on different parts of the body and at different levels of heat and vibration. Afterwards, we both agreed that it made the areas where we applied it feel better. Once started, the device automatically shuts down after 10 minutes of use. It can be restarted again if more time is needed. I do have concerns about what some may feel is the relatively short time between charges (supposedly one hour). Some users may wish for longer usage periods. Otherwise, this is a very nice (but a bit pricey) device.

21st Century Heating Pad
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m in my 70’s, and when I was a kid and had muscle pain, my mom would bring out the ‘hot water bottle’ or electric heating pad. The Venom Go, takes that idea and improves upon it in so many ways. For one thing it requires no hot water or needs to be plugged in. It uses a USB rechargeable battery. For another, mom’s heating pad didn’t vibrate to really help alleviate painful muscles. The Venom has three heat settings and three vibration settings. You can select continuous vibration, intermittent vibration or a more pulsating one. It assembles very easily. The pad attaches to the control pod with two magnets. You just peel the plastic away from the pad, the adhesive sticks easily to your body and then just turn it on. When you’re finished you stick the plastic back on the pad and put it away. Hyperice says each pad is good for 20 uses. The “GO” comes with three pads and of course you can purchase more. Hyperice sells them in packs of three, for a total of 60 uses, for about $30. Of all the Venom products, this “GO” has the smallest surface area. For me this is perfect. I normally have pain around my neck, and the pad’s surface, 5” x 3,” is perfect for me. It’s also great for other small spots around the body, such as your calf muscle. One of my favorite features about the “GO” is the Hyperice App available free for a smartphone. It connects via Bluetooth instantly and then controls all the features (treatment time, heating level and vibration settings) that you need. As I said, I mostly use the GO on my neck and it would be really difficult to try to reach up there and mess with the controls while it’s attached to me. The app makes it effortless to operate all the features of the unit without looking like a contortionist. I’m really happy with the Venom Go. It’s easy to use and gives me pain relief.

Helped me with a Lower Back Strain
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From the files of well timed coincidences I hurt my lower back the day after I got my Hyperice Venom Go Heat and Massager. Once I got home from straining my back I immediately went to go figure out my new device. I had been charging since the day before so I hoped I could just figure it out and get some relief ASAP. I am happy to say relief started to arrive in a matter of minutes! Initially I completely skipped the app. I just looked at what I had and attached the main body to one of the adhesive pads and started pressing buttons. It was super quick to figure out, just turn it on and set your heat and massage settings to your preferences. Then I peeled off the backing on the adhesive pad and stuck it to my lower back where I was experiencing significant pain. It felt better almost instantly. It doesn’t feel like its vibrating that strong but the relief I got was great. The heat was very strong as well. For being as small and light as it is, I was very impressed with the amount of energy it produces. Battery life seemed to be 30-40 minutes. I’m not sure as I was doing lots of little 4-5 minute sessions. The pad still has a good stickiness to it even after about 10 uses. Though being frugal (and hairy) as I am, I would probably try to use an ace bandage to wrap it around my leg or forearm if I needed to use it there. The app does have more options but overall I was not a fan. I find it unnecessary, slow, over all just not well designed so I deleted it. All in all I was pleasantly surprised at how well this device helped me recover from my back strain over the last few days. I am so glad the app is not needed for basic operations. If the app was required I would of given it a much lower rating. For its size and weight I found it quite remarkable and I would absolutely recommend it to a friend!

Quick heating but needs a better battery.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a guy with aging joints and mainly knees, I keep a cold/hot pack handy at all times. I've used numerous packs from multiple stores with varying success. The Hyperice Venom Go has several pros as well as some cons. I took it out of the box and immediately charged it up which took no time at all, maybe 10 minutes. Once fully charged I applied one of the pads to my knee. I cleaned my knee with an alcohol swab beforehand thinking that it might prolong the life of the pad a little longer. They're said to last 20 uses and the box contains 3, so that's around 60 total uses and I'm guessing if you're like me and you'll be moving it from knee to knee that means an even shorter lifespan. Once I put the pad on my knee I opened the app and connected the Venom Go and turned on the heat. You can use the buttons on the device or the app. The heat was immediate. Crazy because all of my battery powered or plug in heating devices take a while to heat up and sometimes get so hot they burn my skin. The heat on the Venom Go is not enough to burn but is noticeable. The vibration levels are steady, pulse or pattern. The vibration is what you would expect from a smaller device, nothing crazy or intense. The fun and games were over pretty quickly however, the battery only lasted about 45 minutes. All in all it's a cool little device that you can travel with but the fact that the battery life is so short really does hamper it's usability in my opinion. Accompany that with the fact that the pads are a recurring expense at $10 per pad and I had to drop 2 stars. If I want to use it on both my knees for multiple hours, i'll have to charge it a few times in between use. This one has it's place in the market for it's extremely quick heating, vibration settings and app, but it probably won't get used much by me.
