A Must Have Roller

I’ve used foam rollers for years, and never considered a vibrating roller, but this is a must have.
The size is great, so that you can travel with it. The motor is very strong. There are 3 speed settings, and I’ve found the first 2 to be sufficient for me. The outer lining of the roller is smooth with grooves in it, which feels really nice.
I was able to get around 2 hours of periodic use out of this. If you are in the market for a vibrating roller, this is the one you should get.

A must-have for warm-up or recovery!

The HyperIce - Vyper 2.0 Vibrating Fitness Roller - Black takes exercise rollers to the next level. German engineered, this pre workout/post workout roller provides blood flow to your muscles to help prevent damage or speed recovery when working out.
I found this roller to be intense. Out of the box it was fully charged, and level one vibrating setting was significant. Having a sore muscle in my leg, I found that it indeed aided in loosening the muscle and the vibration brought increased blood flow as my leg remained warm for over 30 minutes after use. I did find that the second and third speed settings were almost too intense for practical usage.
PROS
- High-quality materials and construction.
- 3-speed vibration settings
- Charges quickly (about 2 hours)
- Holds charge for a very long time
- Over 2 hours of use per charge
- Excellent for sore muscles and workout recovery
CONS
- It does not seem practical for general use other than those who are serious about working out and recovery.
Strongly recommended for those who work out, but not for those who are just looking for a muscle massager as there are other products which would meet this need for far less price.

Review for
HyperIce - Vyper 2.0 Vibrating Fitness Roller - Black
This is not your average fitness roller. Originally designed for elite athletes, it seemed like a great idea for an older guy who has back, knee, and foot pain.
I was right! Although pricey, this roller makes an amazing difference for soreness from exercise or something more age-related, like arthritis. The documentation lists a number of medical conditions that are NOT appropriate for this roller, so check that out!
The power of the vibration cannot be overstated. When I used it in the living room, I could hear the floor and walls shaking. This is both the reason that the roller provides so much relief and also why you need to be able to support yourself during its use.
The vibration is powered by advanced circuitry and a lithium-ion battery that provides two hours of vibration at the high setting; more at lower settings! It’s easy to charge and has simple controls for on/off. A button in the center of the other end toggles through off, low, medium, and high vibration. Indicator lights make it easy to check on the battery charge remaining.
A quality piece of equipment to add to your workout regimen, for sure, but also relief from everyday aches and pains!

Technology meets the human anatomy

Like a lot of people, I use a roller to keep things stretched out. And a roller is a roller. They come in different sizes, but they are all cylindrical, dense foam, torture devices. Oh, but not so with the HyperIce Vyper 2.0. Here's why.
When massage is introduced during stretching, a better and less painful stretch is achieved. The vibration feature of the Vyper has a similar effect. Better stretch, less pain. What's not to like?
The build quality of the Vyper 2.0 is excellent and battery life, though I haven't pushed it to exhaustion, has been fine for my 15-20 minute sessions., with plenty of life left over.
One word of advice, however. If you turn on vibration and roll across the floor with this device, remember that the vibration is absorbed into the floor. If you live in an apartment building on any floor besides the ground floor, you won't make any friends using the Vyper.
The HyperIce Vyper 2.0 is a great idea where technology meets the human anatomy. If you want to stretch but hate the torture, this device is worth every penny.

The Power... the power...

Did I mention the power?!? Holy cow does this thing vibrate! This thing is pretty much ready to go right out of the box! It has 3 vibration settings and they are all very powerful, so much so that I cannot see clearly because my whole body vibrates!
That being said, it is a wonderful tool to soothe sore muscles. It works like a champ!! I am a heavier person so durability and strength is a factor. Not a problem with this thing. It is built like a tank. Sore muscles are not a problem with this thing. It works well for my wife’s sciatica too. I am taking a star because I think there should be a lower setting; even pulsating would be nice.

Works well. Strong vibrations

This works well for me because I do sporadic intense workouts that usually leaves my muscles aching. I had seen the HyperIce advertised before in a magazine and thought it looked more like a speaker than a messager. I was surprised to the size of this thing. It looks like a sub-woofer for a car. After charging this up (which took about 30 minutes) I tried it out and it delivers as advertised.
I was taken aback to how powerful this machine is. At first I tried it on my second floor and it shook the entire floor. That is how powerful this is. So, taking it downstairs and applying it to my quads and hamstrings, it provided immediate relief. Because it was designed for you to lay on it, it helps with those muscles that handheld messagers can't reach.
The design is very well done. It is solid, a hard plastic-Styrofoam feel to it where it doesn't feel to hard on my body. I felt the immediate relief on my muscles after a 10 minute use of it.
Overall, I was really impressed with the HyperIce. My only concerns is that it takes a while for it to charge. It is powerful and gets the job done. Really worth it!

Whoa! The vibration on this roller is way beyond what I expected. My girlfriend could feel it on the couch while I was on the floor. If you leave it on on the floor it will vibrate itself to the other side of the room. I’ve been using this for the past week every night when I get home from work along with stretching to loosen my back up. It works for me. I line it up between my scapula/shoulder blades and roll back and forth slowly. I’ve been using the lowest setting which is more than enough vibration, but if you want to get crazy with it turn it on high. If you live in an apartment you will shake the unit below you. If you live in California you may cause the big one. This will shake you and research shows, gets your blood flowing to repair damaged muscles.

The HyperIce - Vyper 2.0 Vibrating Fitness Roller - Black made me feel as though I was receiving a professional therapeutic massage from a masseuse. By placing the HyperIce - Vyper 2.0 Vibrating Fitness Roller - Black on the floor and using my natural weight as a way to apply pressure on my particular body part, I am able to loosen my muscles, tendons and ligaments. The addition of three vibrating speeds to increase the massage effect on the body provides different levels of relief for tightness of the body. When I use the HyperIce - Vyper 2.0 Vibrating Fitness Roller - Black my body parts loosen up and I get tickled somewhat from the vibrations.

Foam Roller on Steroids

I tested this after a good leg workout so I could really compare it to the standard foam rollers I’ve used for years. I’ve never enjoyed foam rolling with sore muscles. It’s just too painful. I also wasn’t expecting much difference with a vibrating roller. It sounded a bit gimmicky. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised! In my experience, when rolling sore hamstrings, glutes & calves, the initial pain you feel when you put your weight on a standard roller is pretty excruciating, & the pain doesn’t lessen much even after a session of slow rolling. However, when I tried the Vyper roller, my experience was radically different. The initial pain lasted just a few seconds, but then I was able to quickly put more weight on the sore muscles & cover more area in a shorter timeframe than when using a standard roller. The biggest surprise was just after rolling. It felt more like I’d had a manual deep tissue massage. I could immediately stretch & move without pain. I’ve never felt that great after standard foam rolling. I would definitely recommend this as a replacement for the standard foam roller. What a great invention! Wish I’d had this years ago.

My wife is a fitness fan. And with the device, she complains less about sore muscles. When used properly it helps loosens all the muscles on your body. It travels light so she can take it to the gym. And the battery life is amazing. I would recommend using the instructions to use properly.

As my body ages, it takes longer to recover from workouts. This vibrating roller is very effective in getting relief and helping relax the muscles. There are 3 vibration settings and I've never needed to use anything higher than the lowest one. The material is very firm and the diameter is large. That means this is best used with larger muscles. A little pricey but it is high quality and should last a long time.

Five stars all the way. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. This thing is bad to the bone. Make sure you have it in place before you turn it on or it will try and vibrate across the floor. The only bad thing I could say about this is that it is very hard, no give at all. It is super powerful though.

Loosens up my back well, a little loud though

I use this to loosen up my lower back and it works great, but it is quite loud, even on lower settings. I guess that is the trade off for the vibration. I'd recommend maybe using it on a hard floor like at the gym, as in the house it transfers the vibration through the floor.

I absolutely love this roller. At the age of 26 and participating in high intensity and high impact sports for most of my life taking care of my body is something I'm taking seriously now. It gets me loose before a workout and recovers afterwards. It just makes my back and legs feel great.

3 vibration settings, with the highest being intense. This roller is loud and can't really be used on hard floors. The roller itself is fairly hard and can be a little painful to use if you aren't positioned just right. I wasn't very impressed with it, nor did I think it was worth $200. Might work out better for others.

I am always dealing with back pain and have heard about the benefits of a fitness roller, so I was excited to try this thing out. I was immediately impressed by how powerful the vibrating motor was and after 10 minutes of using it, I don't know how I survived without it.

So overall, this is not for your beginning fitness person, or someone that isn't used to this type of stretching.
Some good things: VERY strong vibration, with three various power levels. Cordless also works out to keep things out of the way.
Down side:
- Don't even THINK of using this on your bare skin... The surface is firm, and has a roughness to it. Against bare skin, it is going to hurt.
- To use this on your lower back or back of your legs well, you are going to need to be in shape to keep the position long.
- I am a big guy, and I found this roller to be too big in diameter, to really be effective for the way I wanted to use it.
If you are a fitness person, and need the deep massage of this... go for it.

2.0 over 3.0. I used both i have the 3.0 my instructor has 2.0. 2.0 made my back feel brand new due to the very firm foam and very powerful motor. Using 3.0 it isnt as firm and i feel the moto isnt as powerful or due to the soft foam makes it feel like it has less power. I really enjoy using the 3.0 for lower body due to thw soft foam. My preference obviously but id atill go with 2.0 but i plan on buying both for my physical benefit. As i have the 3.0
