I prefer heavy duty over flashy features. This keyboard has been one of the closest ones I could find that feels like my old mechanical keyboards from the early 1990s, while not being overly expensive.

This keyboard exceeds expectations. The construction is heavier than most keyboards and the colored illumination is many times better as well. This gaming device is the only keyboard my grandson will use now.

If you like RGB then this keyboard is for you... I personally got this for aesthetics but found out that this is a really solid product. It has weight, it feels rugged and the keys are noisy so that you can hear your typing speed. The NGENUITY software is easy to use and I've had no issues with crashing or errors.

The keyboard is very well built and sturdy. The connection is Type C from cable to keyboard making it easy to attach. The RGB can easily be controlled by the Hyper X Ngenuity App in the Microsoft Store. The red switches to me have a lineal feel, similar to the Logitech Gaming G513 Romer G tactile switches but slightly louder.

This keyboard is one that struck me as interesting. I bought it as a gift for my roommate thinking “this would probably be equal to the Alloy FPS that I already own!” Now, don’t get me wrong. I love my Alloy FPS keyboard, but mine was the last model, with the Kahil silver switches. My issue with those is that they actuate with very little force, making them good for gaming, but when you want to type, it increases the amount of mistypes exponentially. On top of that, the old switches had some QC issues, like a lot of spring reverberation, so when typing, it can sound like someone just fired a nerf gun after hitting space.
All my issues with my current keyboard are fixed with the new Alloy Origins. It uses hyperx’s custom Red switches, which means a linear and smooth actuation, with a standard half height actuation point. Typing on this keyboard is excellent, and the quality and typing sound is amazing. I highly recommend this keyboard to most users who are in search of a good keyboard.

Perfect keyboard. I have never had a mechanical keyboard before, and it has far surpassed me expectations! I've had no issues with it at all, and the RGB backlight settings are easy to change and customize, with plenty of options! Very smooth feeling and sounding while typing.

Great Keyboard With Terrible Software

I bought this keyboard, and it had amazing build quality, awesome RGB, and a detachable cable with is really cool. Unfortunately, the software you are required to download to customize the RGB isn’t able to run in the background on your computer so it always has to stay open and that is a dealbreaker for me and as such I will be exchanging for another keyboard. If that isn’t something that bothers you then I highly recommend this keyboard!

This hyperx keyboard is great. I was looking for a sleek keyboard with linear switches and rgb lighting as an upgrade from my old keyboard. I love it so far! Their hyperx switches are great and feelna bit smoother and quieter to me than cherry reds.

The weight of the keyboard feels good, the mechanical switches are fluid and not too loud. Lighting is bright but the software is limited. After reading about it online it seems it has been in beta for quite some time. The frustrating part is that it always needs to be running in the background in order for the customized lighting to function. Otherwise it will only allow one of the three presets to function.

The RGB features on this keyboard are really bright and clear. There are a bunch of customizable options available within the HyperX software that goes along with their products. This keyboard is really sturdy and feels well made.

Great Keyboard. Purchased this for my wife. The clicky switches sound great. I own a razer huntsman mini liners keys, but this hyperx is impressive. It’s a bit heavy but great if you need the whole keyboard.

Definitely my favorite keyboard. The keys are tactile and respond incredibly well. I wish these keyboards came with wireless options as well, but they're so well made that I can't be too upset about it. Definitely recommended

It’s a great keyboard. The RGB works extremely well. Works with PS4, XBOX, and PC right out the gate without any bios updates. Extremely responsive and satisfying. Great price for a quality keyboard.

I debate their TKL version of this, but this is good too. Depends on your keypad preference. I prefer red switches, good for everything and not too loud if it's mainly for productivity and still great if you game. I need their PBT keycaps, the ones with the white outline. Also, it can store 3 designed presets in FN+1 FN+2 FN+3 so if you want some RGB control outside of a Windows environment you can totally have that. I bounce between Linux and Windows and have one for "fancy sitting display" and the other two for solid red and white depending on the time of day. I haven't tried programming it with a VM in Linux, but imagine that is possible. There's also openrgb too, but I haven't tested it with that.

Good Keyboard but be aware of some things

Its a good keyboard, but there are a couple downsides. The downsides are that the keycaps are very easy to pop off easy but I mean the only ones that I pop off on accident is the arrow keys which I dont use much and the escape key. Another downside which has not happened to me yet hopefully it doesnt but that the feet glue is bad and might break off so just be carful with them, but upsides are that the software is good and even if you unplug the keyboard your light settings save and everything saves so just be aware that the keycaps pop off easy and feet glue is meh But its a good keyboard!

I'm new to Mechanical switches. It's a world of difference than my old keyboard. The presses are smooth and typing with this is so much fun. The RGB is kind of bright but you can dim it with the software. All in all Its a lovely keyboard

good quality. Some of the caps come off very easily - maybe too easily, and then others take a lot of force to come off. Software is kinda dodgy imo but once you get what you want it works.
