I haven't tried too many headphones but I've previously been using some sub $70 razer headphones and wanted to upgrade. So these may have been better than my previous pair, but not enough to justify spending this much on. They're comfy, but lack bass. It's also simulated 7.1 surround which to me sound a bit fake. Cool mic that you can remove and adjustable settings are meh. I ended up buying a USB mic instead for my desk and using my music headphones (sennheiser hd650) and am much more happy than I was with the sound quality of this product. I don't play many shooters so I maybe these are great for listening for footsteps but the sound profile isn't for me.

Great sound quality coming in, extra bass and the noise suppression is extremely helpful. Only issue I have on it is the connection sometimes towards the pc makes the headphones static-like but a quick unplug and replug solves it.

The only reason I picked 4 out of 5 stars is because of the volume controller. Everything ends up being very loud or very quiet because of the input. Not sure if there's going to be a fix, so while it sounds amazing it can be a lot at times.

I wanted a headset that I can wear comfortably for a while with my glasses and this one is definitely comfortable and it's got the best sound of anything I've ever heard. This makes all other headsets seem like mono channel speakers.

Great headset. Very comfortable. Sound is great and usually easy to use. As with other USB mics under Windows, it can come in a bit quiet at max. Any issues I've encountered have more to do with Windows than the actual headset.

First of when these go on sale for around $100 it’s hard to find a better all around headset for pc. They sound good and are extremely comfortable. Probably the best fitting and lightest 7.1 headset out there. The only complaint is that I would like to use them with a mic amp or an amp in general. The short cord that connects to the headset doesn’t come with inline controls. You must connect to the dongle they provide for the controls. Other manufacturers have several cable options in box. This would also allow someone to use them with PS4 and Xbox and be able to control mute and volume inline. Overall though is using for just PC these are great!

Best headset I've owned. Perfect for hearing those footsteps of the guy coming around to flank you. Comfortable, sounds great, clear sounding mic. I like the inline chat/volume adjustments. And it's wired so no more wireless problems like my last headset gave me.

Fairly comfortable. Seemed to have decent sound, but didn't really test it too much. Having no sidetone is a deal breaker, so I'll be returning it.

My beloved Arctis 7s finally tanked and are no longer able to charge. BB had these in stock and not the Arctis 7s, so I did some review research of this Hyper X Cloud Alpha S set and saw they had been rated decently, so I gave them a try. At first glance while opening up the box, I immediately see how great the build quality is. Strong metallic frame all the way to the ear cup holders. These were definitely a better build quality than any other gaming headset I've used in this price range. No squeeks, or fragile hinges that I could see. Which is a huge thing for me in terms of longevity. Finally, manufactures are bringing back quality to mid range gaming headsets again. While having an XXL head(I fit an XXL Motorcycle Helmet), I can say that these fit superbly on my head with much comfort. The confidence in knowing these would not physically break from every day use is high here, especially with my large head. Excited to turn them on and get going, I installed the software that is quite frankly, very lacking in the customization department. Enabling 7.1 and opting for the better bass, tuning the cans to professional calibration settings(I use PEACE EQ) for these head sets, I still wasn't very impressed. The bass and sound scape just isn't as immersive as my similar priced wireless Arctis 7s. After a few days of tinkering the sound, I've come to the conclusion that there are absolutely better sounding headphones for the same price point. Are they a bad set? No, not at all. Probably the best build quality I've used in this price segment, but I'm not buying cans solely for the quality of build material. I want great sound with my gaming, and these just did not perform as I've been accustomed to. The Arctis 7s are back in stock at my local BB and I've gone back to enjoying a product I know has superior sound quality for the price point.

I got these on sale for $99. The headset is great. Comfortable, sound quality is awesome, 7.1 surround is clutch. I ultimately returned bc i couldn't do the wired. If you don't care about the wire then this is the best headset to get hands down.

I initially bought these for my daughter based on the reviews, and secondarily, based on personal use by an employee. Anyhow, my daughter loves them while awa in college. She says her gaming is great with these. Her online friend commented on how clearly he can hear her audio. She says she likes the ambient noise vs game volume selector. She advises the surround sound is good, and they're very comfortable for to the fact that she fell asleep with them on and her ears weren't sore. Lastly, she commented on how she likes to plug them into her PS4 and watch/ listen to Netflix via the USB port, so she doesn't disturb her roommate. I've personally never done it that way, but apparently, it's an option.. cheers.

This headset is great for gaming and music but lacks a good microphone. I can barely be heard when gaming or on video calls. I have to havr the mic touching my lips. And yes I've twisted the mic arm so the correct side is facing me. Windows settings are at max input level and I cannot install a third party software for work. The 3.5mm cable length is too short to use without the USB controller. This places the controller at an odd distance where it is hard to cable manage.

These headsets are great. I always prefer wired headsets/headphones so I don't have to worry about charging. Great quality, really solid headphones with awesome sound and earthshaking bass.

This is a great headset, very comfortable and good audio quality. Just wish hyperx would come out with software for a mixer so you can control specifically what's boosted, such as highs for footsteps.

When I looked to upgrade my Logitech headset G933, I looked around at what else was out there that could give great sound and felt comfortable when wearing. The HyperX came to the top of the list in my mind for price, comfort and sound quality.
