Right out of the box the HyperX headset looks great. The setup is easy just like any other headset and best of all it can be used wired or wireless. I can use Bluetooth or the dongle for a better experience.
The microphone is removable and it is easy to put back. When it comes to comfort, it is very comfortable, the set has plenty of cushion to be used all day long without any discomfort.
When it comes to the sound, it sound great, better than I expected, great sound without being too much from either bass or highs. I really like that I can adjust the sound according to what I am doing, either editing videos or playing my favorite game.
The lights on the headset are just extras that make them look not just cool but of higher value.
Overall, I am impressed on how good the set is, I did not expect them to be this good. They are comfortable, battery life lasts days without charging, the microphone is detachable. They can block plenty of outside sounds. They are compatible with all of my devices.

--- SETUP ---
The HyperX Cloud can be set up with the included transmitter to the PC via USB-C. Add the adapter to the transmitter to plug it to a PS5 or Switch. Bluetooth can be used for your mobile phone. The box explicitly says that it is not compatible with Xbox.
--- PERFORMANCE AND EXPECTATIONS ---
I first paired these headphones to my phone via bluetooth, and I had a blast listening to music with them as a passenger on several road trips. Because the mic plug is optional, I didn’t plug in the mic and they look like high-end headphones, and not just a gaming headset. These are comfortable for a good 6-8 hours of use, which is more than enough for gaming sessions. Since I wear glasses, it is important to note for glass-wearers that this headset is also very comfortable to use while wearing glasses.
Once I got home, I tested these on my PC, and later on my PS5, which is where I did most of the testing. For gaming, the headphones are great as well. I play a lot of single player games such as Elder Scrolls, Oblivion and Silent Hill 2 Remastered. In Oblivion, I discovered that my character actually has tiny footstep noises that I wasn’t hearing before when crouching. In atmospheric games like Silent Hill, the game was much more immersive. Because I had already paired the headset to my phone, I enjoyed that I could use my phone and hear notifications and music while playing with my console at the same time.
There is software you can download to customize EQ settings, mic volume, and in a future update, lighting settings. The software is optional, but it’s there for future upgrades. The headset has colorful light features that can be more visible if you remove magnetic plates on the side of the headset. When I used the software, the feature to control the lighting wasn’t readily available, but just know that it is coming.
Even though it says on the box that this headset is not compatible with Xbox, I had to try it out. Just as stated, I could not get them to work on an Xbox, but that was expected and does not affect this review in any way. I still want to point it out to would-be buyers in case they were curious about it.
--- APPROVAL ---
Overall, the bass of this headset does a wonderful job at making you feel immersed in the music and your video games. Speaking into the embedded mic works fine without needing to connect the boom mic. I highly recommend this headset, especially if you plan on making this your long-term headset investment.

This is the HyperX Cloud Flight 2 headphones for gaming and casual use. I have this assigned to my gaming laptop for on-the-go gaming. My previous headphones were a pair of wired HP Omen series headphones that have seen their fair share of use over the last few years and need replacing. I'm happy to see another quality HP product, for those of you who didn't know HP owns HyperX.
The headphones are very well made; they're solid as they come. The headband is tight on my head, but it will loosen up in time. The headphones' sound quality is clear and balanced, but they are still breaking in. I love that these headphones are truly plug-and-play.
The box comes with several accessories, but really, you may not even need to use them. The USB-C with a USB-A adaptor dongle connects the headset via a crisp, clear 2.4ghz connection, but there is also the option of switching over to bluetooth. Either way you connect, the sound quality is just about the same, and I could not hear any significant difference. The headsets come with an external gaming microphone that plugs into a socket on the side, but you really don't need it, as the headphones have a built-in microphone that's pretty good without the plug-in headset.
The headset includes optional software. Honestly, the software doesn't add much in terms of features right now and can be skipped. While it would be nice to lock the headset's colors, it's fine without that feature. The headphones work just like they should from the moment you turn them on, and without installing any software to enable ‘features’.
I have been playing a lot of CSGO and Marvel Rivals of late, and these headphones work rather well for gaming on the go. I took the laptop to my favorite coffeehouse for breakfast and a frag session, and it worked perfectly fine. Nobody bothered me, and the noise of the coffee shop did not disturb me. The sound insulation is quite good, and the thing can be turned on relatively high. 50% of the sound dial's volume is enough to make you deaf.
Overall, a good mid-range headset for the avid gamer or someone who needs a quality pair of comfortable headphones for regular use on the computer and your phone (remember that bluetooth option, it works fine on the phone). Battery life is not bad for a weekend gaming session. Definitely worth consideration if you are looking for new gaming or work headphones.

I continue to be shocked and amazed by striking balance of value and aesthetics HyperX is able to provide in their headsets. The Cloud Flight 2 Wireless is possibly the new mid-tier closed-back king for the price! Hyper X is known for good headsets and this one doesn't disappoint. Excellent sound quality, comfortable fit, large sound stage, and long battery life are what this is all about. Compatible with PC, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Mac, Mobile, this is more than a basic headset so it is time HP steps it up with their software to match the quality of the hardware!
What do you Get?
Out of the box, you get the wireless headset with steel reinforcement in the band, detachable boom mic, USB wireless dongle, USB-C to USB-A adapter, USB-C charge cable, quick start guide and 2 year warranty. Fit is extremely comfortable and balanced on a memory foam headband and earcups. They are soft and provide the perfect clamping force so I can play for hours over an entire weekend. These 50mm drivers REALLY bring games to life and can double as headphone for your mobile phone to listen to music, videos, or games. Connect to both your game and also your favorite Bluetooth device and switch between them easily. Even though it has both 2.4GHz and Bluetooth, it is not simultaneous multi connection so you will need to decide on one or the other connection. The easy toggle physical sliding switch and volume wheel for unmistakable controls make this one of my favorites.
User Experience and Sound
I really like how these headphones sit on my head, they really are comfortable. At default settings, the sound profile is quiet flat but lows and mids get muddled together. In games, footsteps are tough to hear sometimes getting lost in the sounds of the environment but the soundstage is large bass is boomy while highs are clean and sharp. To my ears, when listening to music the bass bleeds over into the mids sounding like cheaper speakers. I wish they were cleaner in the low end but it can be adjusted some in EQ. They get loud, so loud my ears vibrate and tickle lol on some notes. It should be know that if you have larger ears, you will feel pressure and the speaker touching your ear.
The major downside here is that you NEED the software to get the best out of these. NGENUITY software is horrible and REALLY holds back the overall experience. Functions and There is no way to change EQ settings on the headset so you are restricted. It didn't save my preset every time so that was disappointing. The biggest issue is the problem with software after the PC is sleeping or hibernating. Any time it goes to sleep, after you sign back in you've get lost connected and the software freezes. I needed to force close with ALT F4 then reopen the software and turn on the headphones again for things to recognize again.
After getting things working and applying a V shaped EQ, things clean up pretty nicely and brings out cleaner tighter sound. There is not much clarity for music but they do sound pretty good for gamer headphones. Hyper X makes some quality mics and you have two to choose from: boom or in-headset. Both offer quality sound with the boom offering a fuller voice capture with onboard mic having excellent sound too. I find myself not using the boom just to avoid the mic in my face. The removable boom mic sounds excellent with depth and the built-in mic sounds above average but sounds small and tinny. Noise canceling in the mic works somewhat but overall these are excellent and you won't sound like the worst mic in the lobby. An LED signals when you’re muted or active with the boom mic, and an audible notification indicates status in both boom and boomless options.
Things to know:
Available in White or Black
Large ears will be a squeeze because they are angled drivers.
Very boomy and bassy for music. Sound needs tweaking in EQ with NGENUITY software.
NGENUITY software or basic flat sound.
90 degree rotating ear cups fold flat.
Press and hold Power + Mic Mute on L ear cup to turn off RGB.
Steel sliders for solidified headband.
Things I'd like see
=More customizable RGB effects with custom magnetic plates
=Better software and features
=Onboard EQ controls
=Add 3.5mm headphone jack
In summary, the Cloud Flight 2 Wireless is a headset I want to love more than I actually do. The hardware is excellent and the price is right, but the software experience keeps it from being an easy recommendation for everyone. If you're techy enough to deal with NGENUITY's quirks and willing to invest time in EQ adjustments, you'll be rewarded with a very capable headset at an excellent price with 50mm drivers. But if you want something that just works out of the box without fuss, you might want to look elsewhere or wait to see if HP improves the software situation.

The HyperX Cloud Flight 2 headset is a new gaming headset from HP. The headset is supported in the NGenuity Beta software. That is where you can get firmware updates, set feature settings, see battery level, etc.
Features
Standard audio output features are available in the NGenuity Beta software. I can set volume which can also be set with a dial on the headset. Mic volume is set in the software along with several additional features. I can turn on/off mic monitoring which allows me to hear your voice through the headset. I can also setup EQ profiles. It allows me to customize an EQ, save it, and load it. I can create a profile per game if I want to. It’s simple to create one, save it, and load it. I have the option for 3 mic presets: High Boost, Mid Boost, and Low Boost. I found the mic performed well even without a preset on, but I can boost it with one of the three presets. Mic effects are very helpful. That’s where I set the AI Noise Reduction. It is a noticeable difference having that on compared to off. It helps to cut out background noise allowing the input from the mic to be very clear. I have to say this is one of the clearest headset mics that I’ve ever used. HP did a really good job with it.
LED lighting is a feature where the out ear caps light up with the HyperX logo. This is a nice feature to add, but the NGenuity Beta software doesn’t yet support controlling it. When I go to the settings for it there is a message “Work In Progress” displayed and I’m not able to set the lighting how I want it. It defaulted to running through the color spectrum. At this time, since changing that isn’t supported, its what I’ll have until HP addresses that. The LED lighting can be turned on/off using two buttons on the headset, so I at least have the option to turn it on/off. The logo ear caps are removable and held on by a magnet. Its simple to remove them and put them back on. Maybe HP will have additional caps that can be purchased separately where I can find something else that I might like. As it is, I like the HyperX logo and that will work for me.
Spatial Audio is also supported. I can make adjustments to positioning of the audio. There are a lot of options there under the Advanced Settings for spatial audio.
There are multiple connection options such as Bluetooth, RF module, and USB-C. The PS5, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mobile devices are supported. With the PS5, I use the RF module, USB-C and Bluetooth are what I used for the PC, and the USB-C for my Switch. The included USB-C cable also allows me to charge the headset while connected to my PC. I like that I can use the headset with multiple systems. I feel like I get more with the headset due to the multiple system support.
Battery life is exceptional when the LED lighting is turned off. Up to 100 hours with the lighting turned off, but only a little over 20 hours with it turned on. Still though, 20 hours is good for my weekend sessions of Battlefield 6. I can get through a weekend without having to charge them if I use the LED lighting, which I always have turned on.
The leather covered ear cushions are very comfortable while wearing for hours. HP also added a piece of foam over the grill in front of the drivers then placed cloth over that. What this results in is that if any part of my ear touches the inside of the ear cup, it will touch the cloth and press in a little on the piece of foam. This reduces the chances of that being uncomfortable. Most headsets only have a piece of cloth of the grill which causes my hear to hurt once the tip of my ear touches it. It doesn’t take long for that to be uncomfortable, so HP taking that into account shows that the HyperX team was thinking things through when then designed the Cloud Flight 2 headset.
The construction of the headset is solid. It doesn’t feel cheap. The buttons are easy to find by touch and the mic can be adjusted as well as be removed when I use the headset to listen to music and plugged back into the headset when I start gaming. The headset and mic have a well constructed fell and it seems HP did not cut corners with the Cloud Flight 2.
Final Thoughts
I’m really impressed with the headset. The mic is clear and pics up my voice without a problem. The AI Noise Reduction is a great feature that helps a lot. I also like the solid construction of the headset. I also get more out of it due to the multi-system support (PS5, Switch, PC). I would like to see HP ensure that feature settings are all accessible within the NGenuity software at launch of a product in the future. I have no doubt that the LED lighting setting will be added to the software, but that should have been done at launch of the product. I would recommend this headset to anyone looking for a gaming headset. If you are looking for a gaming headset, then definitely consider the HyperX Cloud Flight 2 gaming headset.

I've tested and owned quite a few headsets in the past year or two, and I have to say right off the bat that the HyperX Cloud Flight 2 really impressed me. I feel like gaming headsets have reached a plateau, or at least a lot of them seem to feel and sound very similar. The HyperX Cloud Flight 2 breaks the mold and excels. I am really impressed with the sound quality of this headset. The first game I booted up with it was Battlefield 6 on my PS5 and I was immediately blown away. This headset has a very good bass response. Explosions, gun shots.. they all give a nice bass thump against my skull with this headset. I feel like this headset is tuned to the lower end of the EQ. Mids, and Lows dominate the sound stage but they don't completely drown out highs and trebles. I prefer a mid to bass heavy tune for gaming. I play a lot of shooters and action games, so I like a more immersive sound stage from my gaming headset. If you want to jump in and feel the game, you will not be disappointed with this headset. Build quality is very good, very premium feeling. The headband is strong and very sturdy. The ear cups are smaller than typical gaming headsets but they sit nicely over my ears. The headband is adjustable and comfortable as well. The microphone is removable if you want to get it out of your face. When used in voice chat with friends, they all told me my voice came through loud and clear. The RGB lighting on the side is a nice little bonus, personally I don't care for it. Especially since I can't even see it on while it's on my head. But I spose if you are a live streamer and use a webcam, it'll look cool while it's glowing on your skull. Battery life seems to be excellent. After 5 days of use, I have yet to recharge them and when I turned them on tonight the voice said I'm at about 50% charge. If you are an all day gamer, I would imagine you'll need to charge these every couple of days. Ive been averaging about 2/3 hours of use every night since I got them and they are still going strong. The headset comes with a wire if you just want to connect it that way but wireless is the way to go. It includes a USB port that is compatible with your PS5, PC Mac and Nintendo switch. You can also connect it via bluetooth, which is best for mobile, tablet, etc etc. All in All, I love this headset and it will be my primary / main gaming headset for the foreseeable future. If you are reading this, go ahead and buy them. I think you'll love them!

TLDR: Lightweight, Bluetooth, 2.4Ghz WiFi, RGB colorful, removable & internal microphones, gaming headset. Has compatibility with PC, PS5, PS4, Switch, Mac, Mobile devices via bluetooth. 100 hours w WiFi, 150 hours w Bluetooth per charge claimed, 2 year warranty, WiFi dock works USB-A and USB-C. Does not include a protective case. Owned by HP.
Customizable RGB Lighting with Removable Earcup Plates, the earcups glow (but reduce battery life) without or without the magnetic logo plates. The HyperEX Ngenuity software allows customizing the colors produced to match your colors on other RGB items in your gaming environment.
2.4GHz & Bluetooth connectivity with easy switch on right side earcup. Also has Instant Pair when gaming using a select group of Omen laptops with compatibility from HP.
Claimed up to 100 Hours of Battery Life per charge in 2.4 Ghz WiFi mode at 50% volume and LED lighting off, 150 hours with Bluetooth with the same parameters. A full charge takes 3.5 hours using USB-C. I used my USB-C laptop chargers from Dell and Acer and they worked fine. Maximum wireless range is a claimed 65 feet.
Multi-Platform Compatibility - works with PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PS5 and mobile devices. No XBox compatibility seen. I used it with my Windows 11 computers and it worked fine with both WiFi on 2.4 Ghz and via Bluetooth, although at times it was finicky to connect to my laptop via Bluetooth.
Both microphones work well in that no one said I sounded bad when I tested them on phone calls without stating I was using a headphone mic. When I did reveal that, and switched from plugged in to the internal mic, no one told me I sound bad. In gaming it also worked fine. I also tested it with recording onto my PC and it sounded full and defined.
With music it produced great sound from the 50mm drivers which are angled to interact directly into the ears. The bass is strong and low and the spoken words from players and onscreen characters are clear and defined, there is no complaining about the sound when using these headphones.
The unit is made of plastic with steel sliding headband ends and weighs about 12 ounces or ¾ of a pound. It is comfortable to wear with memory foam removable top padding and comfortable earcups for sound isolation.
Recommended for sure.

There are three main factors I consider when evaluating a headset. The first thing I test is the sound quality. While there is not an equalizer that I have found, this sounds outstanding when connected to my laptop playing anything from 80's metal to country music. Everything is crisp and clear. The same can be said when connected to my PS5. The sound submersion is almost like I'm inside the game.
The second factor is comfort. The ear cushions are made of memory foam with adjustable positions over the ear. The feel is light, yet it fits tight enough to block out outside noises very well.
The third factor is ease of use and setup. The headset easily connected with Bluetooth to my laptop.
While it supports Bluetooth with my PS5, I opted to use the included dongle since I have open USB ports on the gaming console. The dongle converts from USB-C to USB-A to work with most consoles.
The headset has two different microphones, with one built in and the other attaches and detaches.
I appreciate the volume control button as well as the mute button. This allows for full control without needing application to control the sound functionality.
The two sides snap on and off to change the aesthetics. I prefer the look with the covers on, but it's all a matter of preference. The RGB lighting can be changed via the Hyper X NGENUITY application.
I will be using this primarily for my gaming purposes, but it works very well for an office productivity headset.

Really good wireless headset. They include the headset, a removable boom mic, charge USB cable and a USB dongle (type C, but a type A adaptor is included). The headphones are mostly made of plastic, however the headband adjustment band (at least the internal part) is made of metal. The earpads are super comfy, made of leatherette, they do trap heat though after a while. Clamp force is soft and not that hard.
Sound quality is amazing, for the price these offer great bass (without over bearing the mids and treble) and offer a nice wide soundstage and, although they do not have ANC, I was surprised at the good passive noise cancelation, maybe due the leatherette ear pads making a good seal (part of the reason they trap some heat after a while). Battery life is amazing and they pair with the USB dongle super fast. These also support Bluetooth connection, although NOT simultaneous, they have a nice physical toggle switch.
Install was easy, you must plug them on your PC and then install HyperX's beta app, which at this point, its at a really "beta" stage and its very disappointing. This is the biggest con. The hardware is superb, but the app needs a lot of work, there are a lot of settings that do not work (like 12 channel audio, the RGB can't be adjusted as of December update) etc. HyperX's really needs to put more emphasis on their software/app side. So far, the state and quality of their software does not match their hardware. Also there is no phone app to tune them via Bluetooth connection to your phone.
Great wireless headset for the price, I just hope they can get the Ngenuity beta app out of beta and fully functional soon!

Excellent build, and thickly padded. The headband has a nice cushion in the center. When using, the length is easily adjustable, and the clamping is firm. However, with the thick cushions, they were still was comfortable. I found I could wear for extended time easily.
Downloading the NGEUNITY – HyperX app allows for updates and custom lighting / equalizer settings.
After doing the updates, the wireless and Bluetooth modes worked perfectly. I went on to audition the headphones using different sources. I used when gaming, watching movies, videos, and various types of music – classical, jazz, etc. Using the included USB wireless dongle would be best for gaming, as there is no lag / latency.
My impressions seemed similar with all sources. The bass was certainly strong and deep, the mids and treble somewhat recessed. This was a bit more pronounced as the frequency range went up. The app does include custom settings for equalizer to tailor sound to your liking.
Overall, the sound was somewhat “V” shaped, but more so in the lower frequencies. The customizable lighting is a nice touch, although you can't see while using.....
A good reasonably priced everyday set of headphones.

The HyperX Cloud Flight 2 headset overall provides acceptable audio quality but it lacks the app support and features to set it apart from the competition. The fit and feel are a tad tight for me but the foam ear muffs are reasonably comfortable and the RGB icons on the ear muffs add a touch of fun.
Pros:
- Limited verbal status
- Blue tooth and Wireless supported with dongle provided
- RGB support on ear muffs
- Removeable microphone
Cons:
- No ANC
- Supporting Ngenuity app and software is lacking in features and options
- Cannot reassign buttons
- Cannot connect to two devices like pc and mobile simultaneously
- No flip up microphone for mute function
- Lacks gaming presets
Performance: I installed both the current version of Ngenuity and the newest beta version of Ngenuity. Neither software version provided the features that many other competitors offer. The Ngenuity software allows you to verify the battery level, set an audio equalizer and set the color and patterns of the RGB on the ear muffs. The beta Ngenuity starts to incorporate dimensional sound configurations but nothing worked for me but because it’s beta software that is not unusual. In neither version was I able to reassign the button functionality or select from preconfigured audio equalizers based upon game type or setup/verify the surround sound features of the headset. I was also disappointed that the headset was not natively configurable in the Omen gaming software on my new Omen laptop. The microphone worked well and I like the fact that it can be removed when not in use but it doesn’t support the flip up mute function that many headsets provide. The sound quality was good and it had respectable bass and highs. There is a multifunction button on the earmuff but I could not get it to do anything nor could I find a place to configure it in the software.
Fit and Feel: Even though there is a lot of plastic used in the construction of the headsets they look and feel solid. The ear muffs are round enough to cover my entire ear comfortably but they clamp tightly. During long sessions of gaming I found the foam pads to remain soft and supportive but they do get warm after time.

TL:DR - the HyperX Cloud Flight 2 wireless gaming headset is a solid option for those who want a good value when it comes to audio quality, features, and performance. Gaming performance is solid, music playback is really good for the price, audio quality is great, and customization using the HyperX Ngenuity software is easy to do. Those of you with newer computers and consoles will appreciate USB-C charging cable and USB-C connection on the wireless dongle. They're comfortable for longer listening sessions. The only thing I wish the headset had were folding ear cups, but that's a minor issue.
First impressions and unboxing - I'll be honest, the package made me think the quality of the headset was going to be lower tier than what it is. However, as soon as I opened the package, the impression quickly changed. Opening the box went to more of a "presentation" of the headset, with the instructions and other literature in a pocket on the upper flap of the box and the mic, dongle, and USB-C cable are under the cardboard at the bottom of the package. The near complete lack of packaging plastic was also a nice touch.
Setup and usage - You'll want to charge the headset before usage, of course. The dongle has USB-C connectivity and works with a huge range of devices - iPhone, Android, macOS, and SteamOS all worked perfectly with the USB-C dongle. Most consoles should work seamlessly with the USB dongle as well, and it does come with a USB A-to-C adapter for older systems and computers.
For Windows users, you'll want to download the Ngenuity software to get the most out of this headset. You can adjust the audio mode to cover modes from stereo audio to a virtualized 7.1.4 surround setup where every virtual audio channel can be adjusted manually. You're given different EQ setups from a basic 3-band to a fully adjustable parametric EQ with high-pass and low-pass filters.
Usage - First and foremost is audio quality. By default, response is relatively flat - no huge bass, no huge treble, strong vocals. The flat response works well for many games, making it easy to hear where enemies and squadmates are. However, for Windows users, the EQ settings can quickly inject chunky bass and super crispy treble if that's the audio that you prefer.
Bluetooth is also easy to use. Unlike most headsets gaming or otherwise, you have a physical switch to go from the wireless dongle to Bluetooth. For iOS users, Bluetooth connectivity supports AAC audio so the audio quality is pretty solid with a wireless collection.
One of the really neat features of the headset are the earcup covers. They can be removed and replaced easily thanks to magnets.
The boom mic is also optional. It's great when you're in a higher noise environment, and being able to run without it is terrific for when you're on the go. Using the dongle, the mic audio quality is solid. Over Bluetooth, it's decent.
Battery life really sticks out, too. I charged them and I'm still around half battery left after two days with constant usage.
My only disappointment is the ear cups don't fold in to be more compact for storage. If they did and it came with a case or a bag for storage, these would be the perfect headset for me.
For the price, you can't go wrong with the HyperX Cloud Flight 2 headset. Well done, HyperX.

HyperX has been killing the game in 2025. First the Cloud III S came out to much critical acclaim, and now the company revamped the legendary Cloud Flight headset with a fantastic sequel. This headset’s sound signature is perfect for immersive, single player story driven games. The bass is deep and punchy, while still maintaining clear dialogue. Super comfortable too.

These headphones look very premium. The casing has this no-scratch surface, especially on the top which has the most external exposure. It is mainly plastic but the fittings and finish are very clean and durable. Even the steel slider looks good. The leatherette cushions and head-top cushion is quite soft. I find them very comfortable but it does tend to get a little warm. The buttons are responsive and the rest of the details are pretty well-built. Even the volume wheel has this consistent feedback that helps with adjusting volume on the fly. The cup casings can be easily taken out, and it stays in place when it needs to. The RGB comes out nicely on the covers but I think you can customize yours too if you find replacement cup covers.
The connectivity is great. First of all, I can connect It to many devices, especially that it has the dongle so I can connect it to PS5, PC and my switch. The dongle, which I always prefer, is great because you have the USB A adapter, so I can do it anywhere, not to mention Bluetooth which is good for my tablet. The dongle though is very stable as I can go far from my machine without It disconnecting or degrading the signal. It comes with a detachable mic, but oddly, it also has an internal mic. For me, the internal mic makes me sound wider than the detacheable mic, so I prefer using the internal mic. The boom mic makes me sound like I am in a very secluded room, but it is clean.
The Ngenuity software is like most other peripheral software and like others, the customizations are great. It is not exceptional but it is very functional. I did play around with EQ because these headphones sound so clear that I hear some static before the sound clips at the end. And it is not the source because I hear it across consoles and sources and it also happens on both Bluetooth and dongle-- so I had to tweak the crisp sound so I don’t hear that end tick that happens every so often.
It sounds wide so the bass matches the crispiness of the sound. But if you are very particular about the cleanliness of the audio, you will want to consider using the EQ to control that end clip roughness.
These are pretty good headphones. Is there anything exceptional? No. But across the board, this is what most people will want in their gaming headphones—because these headphones are equipped with what almost everyone will need, so you can easily make it your own. Use the EQ, use it on any of your devices, use it for a long time (the battery is great by the way), make it fit you, And I think this is its winning formula.

The HyperX Cloud Flight 2 wireless headset is a fantastic option for an everyday, easy listening, "everything" headphone.
I found the headset to be fairly comfortable and only experienced a mild hotshot after extended usage sessions. I do have a slightly larger than average head so this may not be an issue for most people or younger users. The earcups are large enough fully surround my ears and the cushions are plush and comfortable.
I appreciate the option of using the included boom mic or going for a sleaker package and opting for the built-in mic. Both options sound surprisingly good with the boom mic offer noticeably better voice isolation.
The sound signature of this headset definitely leans towards bass heavy. While the bass and lower mids are more prevalent they are not muddy or overbearing. For music this adds a fullness to the bottom end and does leave a bit to be desired in the details of the treble region. That said, it makes them extremely easy to listen to for extended periods without hearing fatigue and fun for songs that feature a lot of bass. For gaming, this makes for a very enveloping and immersive soundscape best suited for adventure or story driven games.
