    XBox One users beware

This headset is the most comfortable and sturdy headset I have ever owned, plus great sound quality! There is a HUGE but though... I purchased this headset for my Xbox One. it says it is compatible and we will use that phrase lightly. When you plug headset directly into controller you receive all audio controls. Mic monitoring and chat functionality but only by entering in the home audio setting screen. There are no inline controls.I thought I could solve this issue by purchasing Microsoft stereo adapter. I now have audio controls at my immediate finger tips but with a huge short coming. You lose your mic monitoring ability!!! Not being able to hear your own voice and not knowing if you're talking to loudly in the mic, is a big enough negative to where I will be returning these this week. Which sucks because I have tried every avenue to fix compatibility issues because I truly want to keep them. I really want to give 5 stars but they are not truly and fully Xbox compatible like advertised.

I bought these because they kept coming up as a top gaming headset. At first they seemed really good. The dongle to control sound and mic is pretty nice. HOWEVER! That's a big however. Every time I unplug them to move or adjust my pc set up the mic will stop working when I plug the headset back in. (yes the pc is off when I do this.) I have never had a headset have the most stupid and inconstant ways of fixing this issue. All drivers are updated and still wont work. Go and disable the device in sound manger and re-enable it. This has worked once. Make sure nothing is muted. Not that stupid thank you! Ignore the mic. Hey! That worked. Now its not working. I have done everything possible and not 1 thing is a consistent fix. Kingston you need to do more r+d before you send this stuff out. Never had this issue with any other headset that is comparable. Feels bad man!

In general the headset is comfortable and enough for casual gamers, but has a couple of critical issues that I would warn to other buyers. + Easy to install and setup + Sound is accurate(important for FPS gamer). + Comfortable with glasses. + Cord is long enough for any distance of usage. Issues - Sound quality of mic is VERY poor. It completely change your real sound. - Sound from mic is VERY quite and there is no official software/driver that can help tweak it. I have to download external software to help solving this problem. - Headset is a little heavy, can feel uncomfortable on my neck after major usage. - If you plug it on XBox one controller, it can only play sound but mic doesn't work. You have to buy another adapter to make it work with controller, which is not ideal.

I previously had an Arctis 7 which also was uncomfortable due to the short length between the headband down to the ear cups with the fabric headband fully extended (made for smaller heads or younger heads). I had heard the HyperX was engineered so that people with more pointed heads, like mine, could wear them comfortably. They marginally did fit better, but the pressure on the side of the head is too intense, and the ear cups are too small. Again, a headset made for small heads (youths) and not for older adults. Sound quality is OK--I liked the surround effect; microphone is not very good and cannot be retracted like the excellent design of the Arctis series. I will likely return and sadly keep looking for a set of cans that will fit an older adult who does not have a round head.

I purchased this headset for gaming. The quality construction of the headset and its appeal is well above par and I love it! The audio quality when listening to music isn’t the best, but is better than my older soundblaster headset. I get constant complaints all the time that my mic is cutting out in game or that the audio is lagging. Once I unplugged the dongle from the USB port and reinserted it, the mic worked fine. I constantly had this problem over and over. The manufacture did a free warranty replacement for me however, the problems continued shortly after receiving and using the new dongle. Honestly wish I would’ve invested a few more dollars and got a better headset from a more established manufacturer. This problem started happening about 80 days or less after purchase, so I couldn’t return it to BestBuy.

Good sound quality, one major flaw

The sound quality of the headset it quite good. The mic produces amazing sound quality. The headset it built nicely and is biggest enough for people with larger heads. Now the major flaw! The headset 3.5mm cable is designed to plug into the Xbox One and PS4 controllers. This cable does NOT include an in-cable volume or mic control. You have to make those adjustments through the inefficient console controls. Think about playing COD and wanting to quickly mute your mic due to dogs barking! You can't! This a huge design flaw. The PC has much more controls due to the USB dongle. There are much better headsets for this price. Look elsewhere.

They were fantastic while they lasted.... all of two weeks. Coushions are comfortable, noise cancellation is good and the grip's adjustable but the wire that plugs into the device snapped into two revealing wire just from casual use. Good gaming headphones for solo gaming but you cant talk and play a game with sound because you cant lower the game volume while keeping the chat volume high. Very annoying i returned them for a wireless pair of headphones and im much more content.

While it does have all the features on the box, a lot only work for the headset when using with a pc. For ps4 when plugged in the 7.1 is hit and miss. The volume is NOT loud. The controller for muting is very wonky and the volume controls do not work. For pros, it was comfortable, the cable was lengthy and build quality was good.

I have gone through 3 pairs of these headsets, the only reason I bought it more than once is because my friends work for the company. These are awesome headsets for the price but they have a major issue with their auxillary cord going out after a short time. I do not recommend these to anyone

High sound output but lacks the volume control that i was looking for. Directional hearing is fair but not great, problems with the mic as well. This was refereed by a geek squad member which made me feel better but all in all these weren't that great. Tired of this money less pit in the search for the right headphones.

Sound quality is average. Have mic issues. The metal band seemed like a durable good idea at 1st but if you playing more then 30 min at a time it starts to pinch your head.

The microphone will cut off during gameplay. This headset probably better for PC again. On the plus side, it has a USB or 3.5 connectors.
