    Best Headset I've Ever Owned

My idea of a perfect headset is one that is lightweight, comfortable, and provides an excellent balance of sound frequencies: not too much treble, not too much bass, etc. This is actually my 2nd headset; my first headset was a Sades A60, which I purchased because they were cheap but claimed to have 7.1 surround sound. Well they didn't; furthermore, they were WAY too big for my head, they weren't lightweight, they weren't flexible, they made my ears feel warm after 30 minutes, and the inside padding wasn't comfortable at all. I started looking around for a headset that would qualify as my idea of a perfect headset, but still under $100 (as I am a college student, I don't have much money in general). That's when I stumbled upon the HyperX Cloud 2. I read numerous reviews, most stating that they were very lightweight (hence the name "Cloud"), very comfortable, and provided a couple of handy extras (which I'll get to in a minute). So I decided to take a risk and trust that the reviews were accurate. To make it easy for you guys, I shall list various pros and cons below. PROS 1. Lightweight. And I don't just mean "not heavy." This headset is so light that I don't even notice it on my head after a few minutes. It does not slow my head movement down whatsoever. 2. Comfortable. The Cloud 2's come with two different types of ear muffs: memory foam leather (which I use) and Velour fabric, which, while they are also comfortable, may itch after a couple of hours. The inside pad (which the ear rubs against) is also very comfortable and also feels like memory foam. My ears do not get warm whatsoever, even if I wear the headset for hours at a time. 3. Sound quality: Some people said in their reviews that in order to get the full 7.1 Surround Sound experience, you need to install some 3rd party software. I didn't have to. I just plugged my headset directly into the motherboard, pushed the "7.1" button, and I could instantly tell the difference in sound. In general, while it is a virtual sound, it definitely helps when playing games such as Call of Duty. The combination of the excellent balance of sound, the virtual surround sound, and the noise isolation allows for excellent sound whoring when necessary. That being said, I would advise to turn off the surround sound when listening to music; it just sounds weird. 4. Compatibility: I mainly use this headset for PC, but apparently it works with Mac, PS4, and Xbox One (an adapter is necessary for the Xbox). In addition, because the volume/microphone/7.1 control module box is independent from the single 3.5mm connector, I am able to use this headset for listening to music on my iPod or phone. CONS 1. Microphone: While the microphone is detachable, and does a fantastic job of cancelling out echos and extra noises that are not your own voice, not everything about this headset can be perfect. The audio quality of the microphone is mediocre at best. It's enough for other to recognize what you're saying, but that's really about it. Even my cheap Sades headset had a better quality microphone than this one. I have a little bit of a lisp, and this microphone seems to enhance the lisp; overall the audio recorded from this microphone isn't crisp at all. Overall though, I can't remove one star rating just because of something that I don't care that much about. The combination of its light weight, how comfortable it is, and the sound quality is why I rate the HyperX Cloud 2 a solid 5/5 stars. I can't imagine a better headset for the price. In the 3 months that I've owned this headset, I have had absolutely no problems with it. I would definitely recommend the HyperX Cloud 2 to anyone who is serious about gaming but doesn't want to spend more than $100.

Best PC Gaming Headset $$$ Can Buy Under $150

To say I have owned a lot of headsets is an understatement. Since I have gotten back into hardcore gaming over 10 years ago, I have owned dozens of headsets. I currently have a Sennheiser Game One for my sim racing cockpit set up, I use a HyperX CloudX Pro for my Xbox One and I have this headset, the HyperX Cloud II for my desktop gaming PC. In summary, the Cloud II headset is just as good as any headset I have ever used on PC and so I cannot recommend it enough. Pros: -Very comfortable, whether you use pleather or fabric ear cushions -Comes with both pleather and fabric ear cushions, take your pick -Excellent sound, with plenty of detail, highs and lows and volume -Comes with built-in USB sound card, which offers volume adjustment and 7.1 surround sound at the touch of a button -Metal construction, feels very sturdy, yet is still relatively light on your head -Memory foam headband, very comfortable and soft -Long braided cable, you will have no problem connected it to your PC or console -Works on console and PC, but PC offers the option of surround sound, headset is stereo on console -No driver, just connect to a USB port and off you go -Price, even at the regular price of $99, this headset is a steal -Not wireless (if like me you do not like to hassle with batteries and recharging headsets, etc.) -Nice high quality packaging, makes you feel confident the headset is also high quality Cons: -Console compatibility is limited to stereo, also the volume is moderate -Cable from headset to sound card is permanently connected to headset, it is not removable. -Lacks deep, powerful bass -Not wireless (if no wires is a big deal to you) In summary, for PC gaming, you cannot go wrong with this headset. For console, there are better, louder options, but this still is a great option. Buy with confidence!

    Superb Headset

Pros: - Amazing comfort- I could wear these things all day without any issues. -Sound quality - These perform as well as most headsets ranging in the 150-200$ bracket, good highs and lows with the middle range only lacking slightly. Good bass but not overpowering. -Detachable mic - if you have no need to speak or just prefer not to. -Build quality - They feel really rugged, but are flexible. The leatherette ear pads are splendid, I am so satisfied that I have not tried to switch to the alternate pads that were included. All the included cables are braided. Con: The cord on the headset unit is a tad short, and the cord on the 7.1 in-line volume control is too long. If I had the choice I would take about 1.5-2 ft from the the longer and add it to the shorter cable. Overview: I cannot stress enough how much I love this headset, it has amazing noise cancellation, comfort, style, and build quality. The few cons I have for this headset are more than made up for in quick fixes and superior materials and execution. For the slight annoyance of the shirt-clip dongle (was able to clip it to another piece of cord nearby with no problem) this headset outperforms any headset previously owned and then some at this price. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quality headset every time.

I am not an audiophile by any means. As such, these do sound nice. Much better than my cheapo Turtle Beach from 8 years ago. It is comfortable to wear for long sessions, even more if I switch to the included soft fabric ear pads. Construction feels solid. The braided cable is sturdy feeling. The sound range feels good, it has bass but not in an amount that gets tiring to hear after a few minutes. As for the 7.1 Virtual Surround feature, I'm not sold on that and actually prefer it to be off. It simulates the sound of sitting in a room with a lower quality surround sound system, mimicking reverberations and echoes off the walls of the room and making the sound source feel like it is a distance away. Definitely not more immersive or realistic sound. And tracking sound sources becomes more difficult, object sounds are either mostly left or right ear, not a changing mix as they move from side to side, front to back. ALSO - on PC an included feature of Windows 10 called Windows Sonic does the same thing for free without needing a converter such as is in this headset. So for PC gaming this is redundant. So is this headset worth the $90 asking price? Wish I could say, I haven't researched the competition and how their features are priced, and if you even need those features, but price aside it's a nice headset.

I purchased this headset after my SteelSeries Siberia Elite Prism broke after a light drop. Went to Best Buy a few hours later and bought this headset. Immediately I realized that it was better. First of all the comfort is amazing. I can wear this for hours and not even feel like I'm wearing it. The sound is great (7.1 surround sound is a nice touch on a headset for this price however few games really support and it and utilize it at all. The mic being deattachable is nice (personally I don't use it) but it is nice. The different set of ear cushions are greatly appreciated and something even my twice as expensive headset didn't offer. But one at half the price has it. The sound card is nice because it makes the mic usable in certain programs which other wise can't be used I using 3.5mm jacks. It still keeps the 3.5mm connectivity for use in phones, PlayStation 4 among other things. If you want a good headset for below $100 I can strongly recommend this headset over anything else. Thanks for reading my review and I hope you found it helpfull. PS this headset can easily rival headsets at 3 times the cost.

I've been using a pair of Turtle Beach Earforce Seven for the longest time. It was always a hassle because the muffs were super big on me and I wear glasses. The extra muff would press the arms against my head and I couldn't wear both my glases and those headphones. With the Cloud 2 that is no longer a problem. They're small enough that there's no extra to press against my head. Next are the cups. Mine came with the leather cups already on which made me wary at first as that's what my Turtle Beach has. Pleasently surprised when I put them that again, there was no pressing and the leather didn't immediately make my skin start to sweat. I played a few hours with the leather cups on and when I finally switched to the cloth ones there wasn't much sweat and oil to see as there would have been with my Turtle Beach. The cloth cups worked just as well and I honestly prefer them. Between the two the leather seems to be more noise cancelling than the cloth as my friend said I was shouting a lot when I had the leather cups on. The weight of these headphones is fantastic as well. I played for well over five hours with them on and barely noticed them. That length of time I would of had to switch to earbuds if I was using my Turtle Beach ones. And even using earbuds for that length of time would have gotten irritating too. So defiantely a plus on how long you can wear them without really noticing them. I haven't been able to test out the 7.1 capabilities of the Cloud 2 yet as I've just been playing on my Xbox but based on what I've seen already I have high hopes. Overall great pair of headphones though and I would definately recommend to a friend. Not only because of the performance but because of the price for said performance. Hyper X has made a supber set in my opinion and I look forward to what they give us next.

I bought this headset a few months ago because I had read so many good things about it and the reviews are correct, this is one heck of a headset. Pros: -Outstanding sound quality - good deep base, plenty of treble; almost as good as my Astro A40 headset which has the mixamp and is hooked up to a Sound Blaster Z sound card -Easy to set up - no driver needed, just hook it up via USB and you are ready to go; USB sound card is included -Excellent surround sound for a headset -High end build quality, feels better built than my Astro A40 headsets, which cost $150 more -Long, good quality braided cable -Its a wired headset - I have tried and owned plenty of wireless headsets and I now use mostly wired headsets. Wireless is not worth the hassle IMO Cons: -The mic is removable, but you cannot fold it up -Consoles only can do stereo sound, no surround -You cannot practically use it with a sound card, nor does it have an optical connector; USB is really your only option if you want full functionality In summary, you cannot beat this headset for the money. If your budget is around $100, this is the best option available for PC. Period.

I looked long and hard for a headset that met all of my essentials. I was looking for a headset to partner with my black and red laptop, and was attracted to the red and black style of this headset. The headset itself is built like a tank. It is an all metal build that feels very sturdy without being too heavy. Its leather headrest is very comfortable. The ear cups some in leather or suede, both of which are very comfortable, however I prefer leather. I have worn them for over eight hours at a time, and they have never gotten itchy or uncomfortable at all, as my last headset did. The detachable mic is, as I'm told by my friends, very clear and crisp sounding. I personally find it a very intelligent feature to be able to detach it completely rather than push it away. It is compatible with PC/Console, which is something that not all headsets do, and is a pivotal selling point to some people. The braided cable is very robust and is surprisingly thick. It doesn't tangle often at all, but when you manage to tangle it, the thick cable can be a bit of a pain to work with, especially when it's twisted. The volume/mic volume-mute/surround sound on-off switch attached to the cable is well placed. Something I really appreciate is that when you want, you can detach the headset from the cable. You are left with a cable that is close to 3 feet rather than 6 or 7, however, you are losing surround sound, as the switch double as a sound card. Essentially, you are converting a 6-7 foot surround sound headset into a 3 foot stereo headset. Overall a fantastic product that is very well priced and worth the buy. Would recommend to anyone.

This headset is incredible. The sound is great, and the Virtual 7.1 is pretty cool. I use it mainly for work, but I also use it for my PS4. There's only one con for using it on Consoles and that is that there are no in-line controls like what you would get with a dedicated PS4 headset. The detachable Mic is nice feature as are the extra included velour ear cups and the adapter for front panel pc connections if you only want to use the headset and not the inline controls. I can't say that the connector will work on every case as there's no way that Kingston could have checked every one out there, but it does appear to work on my NZXT Switch 810. The USB controls also house the amp so it unfortunately doesn't function on anything besides a PC since the PS4 is unable to load drivers for this sort of thing. The Mute slider does however work. Other than that, this is a stellar headset for the Price. It is very well built and doesn't feel cheap at all and has a good quality heft to it. It feels very solid and I have no no doubt this will last me a while. If you're in the market for something in the $75-100 range this is your best bet.

I won't lie I am a VERY picky person about my headphones. I like the bigger ones that fit over your ear. I like when they have better bass and I like when they last a long time. I have used various brands throughout the years and they are all cheaply made and fall apart right away. I talked to the employee about all this and he said this one seemed to be a better fit for what I was look for. He was right! These fit perfectly on my head and swivel/extend if you need them too. The microphone pops off if you don't care to use it. It also comes with a nice bag to carry it in if you go out. And the ear pieces are replaceable with an alternate set that looks and feels different. It plugs in easily into a USB port and reads it right away. It has its own built in soundcard to! It also has a small control pad on the cord so you can control the volume of the mic and the headphones. The cord is VERY long which I was also thrilled about. The sound in it is AMAZING and even better then my cheap pair I bought. The only con I can think of is the "7.1 surround sound" (you turn it on/off on that control panel) is really bad. I play CSGO and can't really tell where an enemy is with the surround sound. So I turn it off. Maybe it works better with other games. Not sure. I mean I can hear when someone is upstairs or downstairs for example. But I can't pinpoint where exactly. Where as with it off I can pinpoint if they are behind me but to the left upstairs...etc. Defiantly give these a shot! The price is well worth it!

I have to say that these are really good for the money you spend on them. I have had pretty much all the high end gaming headsets out there and bar none these are better than the A40 tr's, the old A40's, A50's, logitech, corsair, TB,plantronics, steelseries. Now I say this because I have the A40 tr headset and tr mixamp. I always did not like the A40 tr, mic is god awful and they have never fixed the tinnyness and echo that those things have. The clouds 2 come with a 7.1 usb hub and its ok, I have tried it with bf4 and bf1 and other games. I do not like the way the audio is produced with the 7.1 usb hub, very tinny, and echoey. Now you pair these up with the Astro tr mixamp, FORGET ABOUT IT!!!!! That is where you notice that these are AWESOME!!!! The sound is crisp, clear, no tinnyness or echoey. The mic is great no issues at all, the mic is 100 times better than any A40 headset. I have also tried the new Hyperx alphas and they are awesome too, but the mic has an issue with the TR mixamp, I think it has to do with the inline volume controller on the Alphas, does not play nice with the tr mix amp. With that said I would recommend that you guys pick these up, they sound great with the provided 7.1 usb hub. But if you want to make these shine get a Astro mixamp and you will not regret it.

I recently decided that I needed to change headsets. My Razer Manowar headphones simply were not comfortable. I had looked at a ton of options and tried out everything from Turtlebeach to Astro headsets. Best Buy started carrying these HyperX headsets and I was curious about them. I had not really heard about them before. I read quite a few reviews online and people were raving about them...literally rating them higher than Astro A50s and TurtleBeach Elite pro headsets! These are less than half of the price of some of these big names headphones so I was quite a bit skeptical. I really wanted a headset that would be comfortable for hours at a time as I do play a little bit of WoW. Looking at the headband piece on these, I decided to try them out (this is the part of the headset that rests on top of your head) as the Manowar headband piece was very uncomfortable. I have been using these Cloud II headphones for a few weeks now and I think that they may be the best headphones that I have ever used! They are the most comfortable headphones that I have ever worn...seriously! The ear muffs are extremely comfortable and the passive noise cancellation is some of the best available! The sound quality is top notch, making Metallica sound as good as I have heard on some of the best speaker systems! And what a bargain! Less than half of the price of the competition! Needless to say, I highly recommend these headphones and am very, very happy that I decided to give them a shot!

I needed a headset I could use with my PC, cell phone and Xbox One. I searched and read reviews on a variety brands. Once I narrowed down the choices, I went to several local stores for a hands on listening experience. By far the HyperX Cloud II headset fit my needs without breaking the bank. The removable mic is great for when I just want to listen to music, movies etc. It has a digitally enhanced, noise-cancelling microphone with automatic gain control functionality and echo cancellation. No one can tell I'm using a headset when I'm on my phone. Sound is excellent! HyperX Cloud II is Hi-Fi capable, with 53mm drivers for superior audio performance and rich sound quality with crystal-clear low, mid and high tones and enhanced bass via the sound card. This sound is further enhanced by the hardware-driven virtual 7.1 surround sound. Finally (but not to be minimized) the headset is very comfortable to wear for hours on end!

Best Bang For Your Buck Headset!

I did an extensive amount of web browsing, reading reviews online, and watching YouTube videos on what headsets would give me the best audio quality and "bang for my buck" in terms of audio quality for games, movies, and music. I finally came across this wonderful headset for $100 and have to say that they give you audio quality and have build construction similar to headphones at double their price point. The cloud 2's are made with brushed aluminum so they are very solid yet somewhat flexible, they have faux leather earcups and headband which makes them extremely comfortable for playing games or watching movies for hours on end. They also come with a detachable microphone, an extra set of earcups made out of cloth fabric, a USB dongle for 7.1 virtual surround sound, a small audio adapter for airplane use and a mesh carrying bag to house all of the accessories and the headphones themselves. They work beautifully on PC, PS4, and XBOX ONE. Would highly recommend to anyone seeking a high quality and comfortable set of headphones for gaming or other activities as the sound quality is really as close to high end headphones as you can get for this price point. Please be aware that these are WIRED headphones not wireless, therefore you will never have to charge them but will have a fairly short cable which I found great for taking on the go to use these headphones on my iPod or laptop on the go at work and in college.

AMAZING. A Google search will lead you to see that a lot of people will recommend NOT A HEADSET LIKE THIS, but rather, separate HEADPHONES, with an external, usb, desktop microphone (because HEADSET COMBO's with Mic attached like this one, are usually just marketed for Gaming and are absolute trash) . BUT THIS HEADSET.... This is something else. EVERYBODY agrees. Even all those people that recommend buying the two things separately, ADMIT THAT THIS HEADSET IS AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT BEAST. I bought a Adapter from Fry's because my desktop's 2-in-1 headset audio jack was in the front of the desktop, causing too much static. Instead, i used the adapter to plug it into the back of my desktop's green and pink audio jacks, and I couldn't be happier.. The COMFORT 5+++ wear it for hours. will forget that it's on. Loudness, Quality Sound EVERYTHING AMAZING TRUST ME GET IT you won't regret it.

I was searching for a USB headset for work because they required I use a USB specifically because of security reasons or something like that. I thought it was pretty stupid since USBs are dying out. The headset they had given me for work was utter garbage and broke second day in training. I had to find a last minute solution and ran to my nearest Best Buy. Although this is a relatively pricy headset, it was the only one available for under $200. Although the reason I got them was a very irritating situation, I absolutely love these headphones and use them frequently. The mic is relatively clear (obviously not studio quality) and the sound is pretty great. It seems like the company integrated the most bang for your buck for an under $200 headset. The cord is extremely long, which is fantastic when I'm at work pacing around. It lets me walk at least double the distance from my computer than my normal earbuds do. A former roommate of mine has the exact same headset and it has lasted her for at least 2 years. If you're looking for a specifically USB headset, this one is great for the price.

Before this I had the original Hyper-X Cloud - when it gave up the ghost after at least five years of faithful service, buying the Cloud 2 was a no-brainer. I got mine on sale, adding in the 2-year replacement program with the savings for less than the regular price. The Cloud 2 provides the same rich and clear sound as the original. The sturdy construction will stand up to some fairly serious unintentional (someone determined to break something will break it, that's why we have product warning labels everywhere) abuse and the braided cord is likewise durable, able to survive being run over by chair casters, being pinched in drawers, and whatever else I have absent-mindedly done to it. Honestly, it wouldn't have the name Kingston/Corsair/Hyper-x name on it if it won't stand up to regular use. I should probably mention that I don't use the USB sound card as I already have a Sound Blaster X-Fi Go Pro. You have no idea how hard it is to find an adapter to go from a three-ring (stereo and mic) plug to separate stereo and mic plugs at my local Best Buy.

I was looking for a gaming headset for my laptop but also one that I could use ocasionally on my xbox if needed to. A bestbuy store sales rep showed me these and said that he even bought a pair for a friend and that they sounded like headphones $200+ or better. I was skeptical at first but then I tried them out and did I was impressed. You get a lot of bang for your buck with these. It has 7.1 surround which works better than I expected. The sound is very clear and not muffled. It has a usb remote to connect to the PC with volume, and mix volume controls. ( I only wished it had a mute button on the remote) It will work with all other consoles like XB one, ps4, etc. I have a $160 pair of turtle beach headphones that were made for XB One and these Hyper X headsets are by far better, clearer, and more accurate sounding. The removable Mic was a must for me which is great. Also it came with different ear pads that had one pair with the vinyl and the other with a suede type material. I swapped it to the suede material which was way more comfortable for longer wear to me. Also a nice touch was a bag/pouch to keep the accessories and the headsets in.

So, this headset is relatively cheap compared to most gaming headsets with this build/audio quality. This is actually my 2nd HyperXCloud headset as my old one that I used for about 3 years HEAVILY for Destiny(Raids, Quests, PVP) had started to give out on one side. I don’t blame the headset at all as I had dropped it a few times on my wood floor and tugged on the wire accidently as well forgetting I had it around my neck. Aside from that, this headset really is amazing. The USB part of the headset that controls mic and headphone volume now works flawlessly with PS4, as this feature was not compatible up until about a year ago. Now with the 7.1 Surround Sound, I’m able to get the jump on other players online as I can hear the most minimal of sounds. Volume also works well when in a party ever since the USB part of the headset became compatible with PS4s. Overall, I’d highly recommend this headset. They’re durable, reliable, have great audio quality/smooth sounding microphone, and are competitively priced.

I was debating between these, and two other headsets, but the reviews helped out with going with these instead. I was deeply surprised with how the sound quality was, and my voice sounded a lot better on my consoles and PC, whether streaming, playing co-op games, or if I was on a chat in Skype or Discord. The only drawback to these, that I can see, is adjusting the settings for each program (Discord, certain games, etc) when it came to vocal chat; this is due to the USB dongle that comes with the headset. If you connect this to your PC without the dongle, then you can adjust the quality through the system itself. If you use the dongle, then the dongle takes control, and you will have to mess with the settings for each program that will require a headset & mic for use. Despite that setback, it's not enough to take a star off of it. This is still worth every penny, in my opinion. The fact that I can use this on my consoles, as well as my PC, was what sold me to begin with. I don't regret this purchase.
