    The Truly Perfect Choice!!

I am writing this review for the HyperX Cloud III S Wireless Gaming Headphones If you're looking for a wireless headset that nails the important things—comfort, battery life, intuitive controls, and rock-solid build quality—the HyperX Cloud III S Wireless is an easy recommendation. It doesn’t try to be flashy; it just quietly delivers. The first thing I want to point out is one of HyperX’s main selling points for the Cloud III – battery life. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Depending on which mode you use (Bluetooth or 2.4GHz wireless), you can get up to 200 hours on a single charge! Even at the lower 120 on the wireless, that’s over a month between charging times! Yes, if you spend a serious amount of time gaming each day, you’re probably looking at every two weeks. But still, when my other brands of headphones have to be charged two or three times each week (or more) that’s one heck of an advantage! This is easily one of the main reasons to consider the HyperX Cloud II S wireless headphones! Another strong point is the relieving lack of RGB! I do like lights, but during gaming the flashing keyboard, mouse, PC tower or laptop…it all gets pretty distracting. Well, to me. It makes gaming more of a circus experience than a serious out-to-win experience. So I am happy with the “minimalist” approach HyperX took to designing its headphones. I’m not so sure about the removeable earcup plates, though. I understand about making your stuff your own unique standout, but there is a cost involved. Customized plates from HyperX will run around $50. Third party customization? Your wallet is the limit. It’s great that we have a choice, though! Another sort-of-minimalist approach I like is the limited number of on-headset controls. Seems like everything computer & gaming has a ton of different controls you have to memorize. With an On/Off switch, Volume wheel, Wireless/Bluetooth switch, Mic Mute and Mic Monitoring. Let me expand on the microphone monitoring… It’s another crazy amazing selling point of the HyperX! Like a lot of my online friends, I tend to shout because I can’t hear my voice on other headphones. But with the HyperX mic monitoring, I can hear my own voice via real time audio loopback…so I always know how loud I am. It just makes the whole experience a thousand times better. I will say this… like a lot of other people point out, the bass on the HyperX is marginal at best. There are times during game play, or even using the headphones to listen to music that the lack of a deep sonorous bass sound is disappointing. I’m not disappointed with the reasoning however. First, you have to remember these are gaming headphones. Most games require a certain amount of awareness of the environment. With deep bass from explosions, gunshots or what have you, other movements can become “lost” in all the noise. Again, these are gaming headphones specifically designed for that purpose. Although disappointing in some respects, I am more appreciative of the lack of bass so that my gaming experiences are more crystalline and sharp. Finally, the comfort! These are the absolute most comfortable headphones you will ever wear. Soft, no pressure to speak of, and did I mention how soft they are? I have walked around most of a day with these headphones on, and experienced ZERO discomfort on any level. HyperX knows what they are doing to make the gaming experience not only more immersive, but comfortable as well. Final Thoughts: It is clear that the HyperX Cloud III S Wireless Gaming Headphones are a true winner here. Great looks, AMAZING battery life, long-wearing comfort…all of these blend to make the Cloud III S wireless headphones an easy choice. Well actually, just about the only choice when it comes to performance and value! I have already begun recommending these headphones to just about everyone. These really are the perfect choice.

Like the title says the dongle failed when I went to use the headset today. You cannot purchase a replacement dongle. Not even from HyperX. I can connect it to my pc using bluetooth but I need to use it on multiple computers. To do so I have to turn off bluetooth on all but the computer I need to use it on instead of just moving the USB dongle from pc to pc.

The HyperX Cloud 3 wireless headset is great option for gamers who want excellent sound, comfort and an overall high-quality product. The overall setup process was fairly straight forward. You can basically just plug in the USB dongle and be up and running. I do most of my gaming on PC so I typically like to see what the software has to offer. In this case, it is the HyperX Ngenuity software. I like to tweak the sound profile to my liking and update any drivers or firmware that the device may need. The software is easy to use, however, to get DTS to work I had to go through a process of downloading another application, DTS Unbound. Not the ideal situation but I got everything working in a few minutes after having to research the issue. The sound quality is great and immersive. After playing various FPS games, and a lot of Dune: Awakening, I can tell this headset will be my daily driver for the foreseeable future. The main things I look for in a head set is sound quality, mic quality, volume level and comfort. This headset checks all the boxes for me. After about 5 hours of continuous use, I didn't have any pressure points or discomfort. The mic is quality and the battery is great too. It would have been nice to have a longer USB-C cable. The cable that is included is pretty short which is kind of a bummer. Other than that I am very please with this headset and recommend it 100%!

HyperX headsets have a storied history of excellence, and the Cloud III S Wireless is another excellent chapter in that legacy. The headset is extremely comfortable, this is a headset you can use for hours and have no issues at all. The sound quality is what you have come to expect from HyperX, and it is excellent. Perfect for gaming with the clear highs and deep lows you crave, as well as amazing 3D sound that ensures you can find any enemy lurking around. Music and movies are great as well, and that makes this an amazing all around headset for whatever your day might look like! I also love the versatility, this headset works seamlessly across PC, console, and mobile systems with no issues at all. Battery life is another strong point of the Cloud III S headset, I use this night after night and never run out of power when I need it the most. The detachable microphone is also very nice, this is a must have feature for me. The microphone quality is also very good, everyone says the audio comes through very clear during gaming sessions and even work calls. The only thing I wish this headset had is ANC which is becoming more prevalent in gaming headsets, but maybe we will get that with the Cloud IIII! Definitely still a 5 star experience with the HyperX Cloud III S and I highly recommend them for gamers and tech enthusiasts!

I have been a fan of HyperX products and this product is just another reason for that. The Cloud III S Wireless Gaming Headsets are what you would expect from a superior gaming headset company....excellent build quality, excellent sound, excellent microphone, and superior comfort for long gaming sessions. I also love how the wires in the set are braided which is just a nice touch of quality. This headset is compatible with the PC, PS5, PS4 Switch and so on and I have personally tested it with the Switch and PS5 and it works like a dream. I am not one to use the microphone and love that I can add or remove the microphone as often as i want to use them as regular gaming headphones. Battery life is advertised up to 200 hours and while I have not gamed for that long (roughly 20 hours) I have not had an issue with battery or a need to charge the headsets. The spatial audio output with these headphones is fantastic and while I do not have to game with headphones, I have tended to use these for every gaming session because of the comfort and audio sound. I also am really impressed with the durability of the headphones which are really malleable. Overall, great product and I highly recommend it for gamers.

HyperX - Cloud III S Wireless Gaming Headset is awesome. Been using this for the past month and the sound is great and feels good on the ears and over the head. Boxing/packaging very colorful and very well packed to prevent any issues with damage. Easy to setup and add to my PS5. Plugged in the USB stick and turned on the headset. It was flawless. Microphone is very clear and was able to communicate with other online players without fail. Very impressed with the flexibility of the microphone to move it up and out of my way when I wasn't using it. Everything about this headset feels quality. The magnetic covers over the actual ear pieces was genius. Very lightweight doesn't feel fatigued after wearing them for a few hours. The ability to adjust for a large head or a smaller head is very easy and smooth. The logo and color is very impressive. The materials on the headset has alot of cushion so rest against the top of my head without hurting or feeling pressed against my head. I like the ability to place it in the storage bag when not using it and hanging them on a hook in my game room so I know where they are at all times.

I do a lot of online PC and PlayStation gaming, and this headset works great in both situations. When using with a PC, you can either connect easily to the included doogle or via bluetooth. I was able to effortlessly connect to my PS5 Pro as well with the dongle. Just make sure you have the switch set to correct mode. Charge time is not bad, and the battery life is amazing. I should only have to charge around every 2 weeks or so with moderate use. Comfort wise it excels, and I have no issue with using during long gaming sessions. The headband is well padded and supports the weight of the headset effortlessly. The earmuffs are soft and do not get too hot. You even have the option of switching at the earpieces if you desire. The mic is well positioned and picks up your voice well. It adjusts well and others are able to hear clearly. The style and color goes well with most modern gaming setups. The red highlights are bright and compliment the black. I plan to utilize these as my primary headset and will only use another while these are charging, which is infrequent.

    My new Switch 2 headphones!

I owned a pair of HyperX Clouds when they first came out and I loved them until they got destroyed by my nephews. They sound really good and are super comfortable. Since then I've used quite a few other headphones that beat the Cloud out in sound (especially bass), but NONE has ever been able to live up to how comfortable these things are. I realized that my biggest gripe about the Cloud series has always been a lackluster bass response (something I always thought was a bit surprising given their design), but that lack of bass isn't as big of an issue with the Switch. Why might you ask? Well, Nintendo games tend to bias their sound effects and music to a higher pitch. It goes along with the family friendly nature of most of their games (bass is scary). Sure enough, after linking the Cloud IIIs with my new Switch 2, and firing up a game, I was treated to bright, cheerful music with great detail. On top of that, these are as comfortable as they ever were (probably more), and it was a joy to wear them until I exhausted the battery on my Switch (which isn't as long as I would like, but that is another matter). I still don't think these have the greatest bass response. I paired them with my iPhone and played some of my headphone test tracks and they were distinctly lacking in OOMPH. Were they horrible? Not by any means, but a lot of players and headphone owners nowadays are used to headphones tuned a bit more to the bass side, and may be surprised by the lack of head shaking power. I can't speak to their utility on a PC though, and that may be completely different if you are able to utilize the DTS X Spatial Audio. There you probably have a little more control over the equalizer and presets that aren't available through the iPhone or the Switch 2. TLDR: Not the greatest for bass response while listening to music or gaming, but they are almost perfectly tuned for the vast majority of the games found on the Switch platform. On top of that, they remain the most comfortable gaming headphones I've used to date. I'm super happy with the HyperX Cloud IIIs, and we are going to have a lot of fun playing and traveling around!

At this point headsets are a dime a dozen, having one stand out is difficult, especially in any sort of affordable price range. I will say that the HyperX Cloud III S seems to have delivered exactly that. To start: Packaging is simple, headset, charging cord, dongle (which works both in USB A and USB C ports, so good forward thinking there) and minimal documentation. Headset itself looks great with the red accents rather than being your standard jet black headset as so many are. Setup: There's a switch on the bottom of the headset to move it between bluetooth and wireless, and if you choose wireless, there's literally zero setup, plug in the dongle and it starts working. I had it up and running on my PC in seconds. Basic power and volume controls on the headset itself, no surprises here. Use: It's extremely comfortable, the earcups are soft and wonderfully block out surrounding sound, the audio is excellent even if it isn't audiophile level, it's still extremely good. I dont "love" a removable microphone, but I can see how it would be useful for those who prefer it, and there's no complaints on the far end of my communication in the audio quality of the microphone, so it works as expected, and it isn't loose when connected. Overall: It's a good headset, doesn't take any effort to get it going and as I said, it just works. It's a good solid performer in this market for not too much money if you're in the market for something that works on any platform.

    Good But Not Great

I really wanted to love these. However, they are good, but not great. They don't have the most solid feel to them. They have a cheaper plastic feel to them. I used these for, gaming, music and for everyday phone calls for work. The sound quality is mediocre. Does not have a deep bass to it. In my opinion, the sound quality could be much better. Battery life is definitely better than I expected. I do like the removable microphone. As far as comfort, they do fit snugly, however, after extended wear, they do get hot against my yearsand I had to take them on and off. You definitely need to play with the volume and equalizer settings out of the box. The sound quality is less than desirable, so that is a personal decision and setting that you must say, play with so it meets your expectations. I have owned multiple headsets, and I would absolutely categorize these as mid, two upper lower end range. For the price point, these are a good deal. And for that, I would recommend these for purchase.

    They're fine...

I usually preface my headphone reviews with the fact that I'm not a huge audiophile so I'm not going to be the one that picks up on every tiny thing. I know when I think something sounds good. These headphones kept me sort of wanting. Setup is simple. Plug in the USB dongle and power on the headphones. There's a nice voice that lets you know what's happening (like when they're connected and what to). That's really all there is to it. There's an app you can download if you're on a PC that lets you tweak a couple of settings but there are limited instructions included and I had to specifically search for an app because the controls on the actual headphones are fairly minimal. Build quality is pretty decent. They're a good weight and feel nice to wear without a lot of fatigue from the weight. The cups aren't very permeable so I felt my where they wrapped around my ears getting a little sweaty after some time. Nothing crazy but worth mentioning. I found them mostly comfortable to wear for a few hours at a time. I'd probably take a break at that point. Sound is just.. fine. They didn't blow me away with whatever I was listening to. They don't sound bad. But I've definitely used better sounding gaming headphones before. I didn't feel a ton of bass at all. The microphone is detachable which is always nice for when you don't need it. One of the features available in the app you have to search for is the sidetone volume which I always prefer to have on. The microphone is passable. It sounds good enough for a headset. One downside for me (personally) is a lack of a 3.5mm jack for using the headphones passively. I stream and record videos and have a very nice microphone but the way my audio is routed, I need 3.5mm wired headphones in order not hear a delay in my headset while I'm talking. This is a pretty niche concern and it seems like a lot of modern headphones are also doing away with the 3.5mm headphone jack so it probably doesn't matter much to you. Controls available on the headphones are pretty minimal. There's a power button (which feels like it needs to be pressed way too long before turning on) and a mute button on one cup. Then a volume spinner and a utility button on the other. Along with a switch to switch from 2.4Ghz to Bluetooth. The utility button acts like a play/pause button on my PC. Overall, these headphones feels pretty nice to wear. They feel like they're made to be a premium headset. But the sound they produce just feels underwhelming. I'm not sure if it's "angled 53mm drivers" they advertise on the box, or just ok quality drivers. They don't sound bad, but I feel like you could do better at this price range. See for yourself if you're in the market at this price range. If you can try out a couple pair somewhere, you be the judge.
