This is my first ever HyperX mouse and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Overall the quality of this mouse is on par or better than the other gaming brands but really excels in software.
Pros
Customizable to fit how you hold a mouse
Good Weight
1k/2k/4k polling modes
26k DPI sensor
Lightweight software
Hardware memory for settings
Cons
Mouse wheel is a little squeaky
Build quality for this mouse is pretty good. Even though the shells and buttons are held on by magnets, I had no issues with the mouse falling apart when using it. Being able to swap out pieces to fit your grip style is neat. The plastic is ever so slightly textured so you don't have a problem losing grip. The buttons are nice and tactile giving your feedback every time you click.
Battery life has been superb. I have not charged this mouse yet after a 5 days of use. Its still sitting at 30% battery life with heavy use. I have the polling rate set to 2k, so it can be even higher with a lower setting, or worse with the 4k rate.
The software is what I really like about this mouse. Unlike other companies, the Ngenuity software is very lightweight. You open it up, configure the settings your need, save it to the mouses memory and close the software. No need to have it running in the background sapping CPU cycles. The software is minimal while having all the features you could want.
I am extremely happy with how solid this mouse is and minimalistic the software is.

The HyperX Pulsefire Saga Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse is HyperX’s attempt at a high-end, customizable gaming mouse. I’ve been using this 72-gram mouse for a while, and here’s what I think.
The customization is a standout feature. It comes with two shells, two sets of top buttons, and two pairs of side buttons, giving you up to 16 different combinations. You can swap out parts to get the exact feel you want, like a curved back for comfort or buttons that fit your grip better. Everything attaches magnetically, so it’s super easy to switch without any tools. HyperX also provides 3D printing blueprints on Printables.com, so if you have a 3D printer, you can create your own custom designs. I didn’t try that myself, but the included options are great for right-handed users, especially those with larger hands. The downside? The stock shells and buttons aren’t drastically different from each other, so unless you’re printing custom parts, the modularity might not feel as exciting as it sounds.
Performance is excellent. The 26K DPI sensor tracks every movement smoothly, whether you’re playing fast-paced shooters like Valorant or working on something less intense. I used it at 1,600 DPI, and the four onboard DPI presets (adjustable without software) made switching between tasks simple. The 4K polling rate over the 2.4GHz wireless connection feels just as responsive as a wired mouse. The optical switches are crisp and register clicks instantly, and they’re quiet, which is nice for late-night gaming. I tested it on a cloth Glorious mousepad, and it glided effortlessly.
Battery life is solid. HyperX claims up to 90 hours at 1KHz polling, and I got about 80 hours of mixed gaming and work before needing a charge. At 4K polling, it lasts around 30 hours, which is still decent for competitive play. Charging is easy with the USB-C port, which is a welcome touch. However, the wireless dongle is USB-A, which feels outdated in 2025. My MacBook needed the included USB-A to USB-C adapter to connect to the dock, which was a minor hassle. A USB-C dongle would have been much better.
The HyperX NGENUITY software is okay. It lets you adjust DPI, remap up to five buttons, and tweak the RGB lighting, which is subtle and not overly flashy. You can also check battery life and polling rates. But it’s only available for Windows, so Mac users like me can’t customize much. Plus, the software sometimes failed to detect the mouse, which was frustrating when I wanted to change settings.
The HyperX Pulsefire Saga Pro is a great mouse with strong performance and cool customization options. The sensor is smooth, the battery lasts a long time, and the optical switches feel responsive. The USB-A dongle and Windows-only software are minor drawbacks, and the price is a bit high if you’re not using the 3D printing feature. But if you want a mouse that performs well and lets you make it your own, this is a solid choice.

Hyper X in a Modular Level

Here is another gaming mouse this time from HyperX. These days, gaming mice are all about pushing the limits with faster polling rates and higher DPI, plus making wireless connections even better and more accurate. I have used a gaming mouse that has interchangeable magnetic covers, well this HyperX did the same but with a bit more ingenuity.
When it comes to design there is not much of a difference from a regular mouse. It is the construction, feel and performance that will make a difference. This one does not fail in that category. Setting it up was extremely simple, just plug and play. Windows OS will recognize it as an RGB enabled device and you will be able to control the lights directly from it. Only the scrolling wheel lights up. The mouse can be connected via bluetooth, 2.4 wireless band with its dedicated receiver or via USB-C cable. This mouse will work out of the box with PC, PS5 and Xbox.
What initially grabbed attention was not all the bells and whistles which are the 26K DPI, 4K wireless polling rate, Bluetooth, 2.4 wireless band, RGB lights and the 90 hours battery life. It was the actual magnetic covers. Why the cover? well because you can actually change pretty much all of it, not just the entire top shell. Unlike other mice where you swap the entire top shell, this one allows you to change the button section, the side buttons, the palm rest, or all. That level of modularity adds a fresh level of customization, making the mouse feel more personal and tailored to your preferences. For instance, the additional palm rest included is shorter, and the alternate button cover is flatter with a center curve for better finger positioning, a setup I found particularly well suited for gaming. They also included textured grip tape for both side grips and the left/right buttons, enhancing comfort and control. They even took it a step further by allowing 3D printing mouse parts from open source models which you can personalized.
The mouse itself is incredibly lightweight. I found the default cover perfect for everyday use. With medium-sized hands, it fits well and feels precise in use. Unlike many gaming mice packed with extra buttons, this one keeps it simple with five programmable buttons, which can be customized using the HyperX NGENUITY software. A multi-function button on the mouse's right underside handles both Bluetooth connections and wireless receiver pairing, while also serving as the power button. The left underside button is to adjust the DPI.
When it comes to gaming this mouse does exactly what it is supposed to do. It is very accurate and responsive. Some users might find the five button limit a drawback, depending on their gameplay needs. As for the RGB lights only the scroll wheel lights up. You can’t do much customization with it.
Overall this is a great mouse, It is very accurate and extremely comfortable. The high DPI ceiling and adjustable polling rate cater to a wide range of gamers, particularly those who demand pinpoint accuracy and minimal lag. But what truly sets it apart is the modular design, allowing you to swap parts magnetically and tailor the mouse to your individual style and comfort. In the box you get the USB cable with extension adapter, wireless receiver, replacement buttons, replacement skate pads, grip tape and manuals.

A few years back, I used to be a traditional console gamer content with the traditional controller. Lately, I have gravitated toward PC gaming and I was won over by the gaming mouse that offers more precision and control. To my small collection of gaming mice, I added the HyperX Pulsefire Saga Pro. It is a wireless mouse that is highly customizable, and capable of providing hours of pure gaming enjoyment.
My first impression was how light it felt in my hands. It is indeed light at barely 72 grams and it’s a modular design of interchangeable parts for personalization. This model came with additional buttons and back covers and a pair of side buttons. Swapping them is quick and easy; however, with the size of my hands being fairly large, I couldn’t really notice a difference between those parts. But speaking of personalization, HyperX grants access to open source models for printable parts with a 3D printer; this way you can truly sculpt the hardware to your liking.
You can make the HyperX Pulsefire Saga Pro gaming mouse your own with the HyperX NGENUITY software. It has a good user interface that allows you to remap the buttons, including the wheel, adjust the polling rate from 1kHz to a lightning fast 4kHz, and the DPI up to 26,000. Also, the RGB lighting from the wheel can be customized in different ways. Personally, I find the multicolor lighting on gaming hardware as more of a distraction that I avoid by leaving everything off.
Performance wise, I’ve been very happy with this gaming mouse. It offers Bluetooth connectivity, but when it comes to gaming, my favorite connection mode is via the 2.4GHz dongle. With the dongle, my Pulsfire Saga Pro performed flawlessly. A quick session of trial and error with the NGENUITY software ended with the ideal set-up for me, and I was playing my favorite FPS games. It was real precise and registered the subtlest movements consistently. I usually set my DPI to no more than 1,600 but at 3,200 and the polling set at 4kHz, I was feeling very comfortable. Most gamers know that steady hands are a must for the high settings. According to HyperX, this mouse has optical switches, as opposed to mechanical ones, that enhance the responsiveness, reliability and accuracy.
To conclude, the HyperX Pulsefire Saga Pro wireless is a strong contender in the competitive world of gaming mice. My experience with it delivered solid high performance in terms of precision and responsiveness. I experienced decent battery life even on higher settings. The NGENUITY software does a great job at customizing the settings and the modular capabilities, plus the printable parts add even more value. As your needs evolve, this gaming mouse is right there with you. A winner in my book!

The HyperX Pulsefire Saga wireless gaming mouse comes with a magnetic-modular shell design allowing you to change the grips, the palem, and the buttons. In fact, there are 16 possible configurations right out of the box! It also includes rubber grips that can be applied to the mouse and extra mouse skates for the bottom. You can even download and print additional components on standard 3D printers.
It has an incredible long battery life - up to 90 hours in 1K polling rate mode and up to 30 hours in 4k mode. And, at only 72 grams it's lightweight and easy to use.
The Hyper Saga uses optical switches for laser-like accuracy but with a mechanical feel. It can connect via 2.4ghz USB dongle, or Bluetooth and pairs instantly. If you have an OMEN laptop, it will even pair dongle-free! It also includes a USB-A to USB-C cable and an extension adapter to charge quickly.
Combined with the "Ngenuity" software, you can adjust your RGB colors and patterns, select your polling rate, set custom DPI levels, and reassign the 5 mouse buttons.
It's super-easy to hold/grip, and slides easily on a mouse pad making it a perfect choice for gaming, or for everyday use.

PROS:
* Comfort is superior - lightweight and smooth
* Customizable to your liking - grip stickers, LED colors, 2.4 or Bluetooth
* Comes with extra pieces, so you don't have to worry about it becoming grimy (but maintain accordingly)
* Fleshed out online connection where you can fully customize button layout and other options
CONS:
* The price ($120) is too steep compared to other options, although the price is subjective and depends on your financial situation.
* The plastic casing does feel "cheap," although that may be a trade-off for how lightweight the mouse is, which I do love.
Kingston Technology, the parent company of HyperX, has existed since 1987. In the last ten or so years, HyperX has grown to be one of the most trusted computer accessory subsidiaries in the home tech space. Specifically, their headphones and gaming mice have been a hit with gamers due to their ability to blend value and performance within their products. Their new HyperX Pulsefire Saga Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse hits the mark on performance, which is evident as soon as you begin to use it. However, with the price tag of $120, the value isn't exactly as enticing as their usual offerings.
I've used many different gaming mice over the last several years. I find that I do more with them than just gaming, so comfort and quality are more important than any speed I may get on Call of Duty. In fact, it's important to note that I don't play Twitch shooters or games that require me to be quick on the draw, so take my opinion about this mouse as a non-gaming competitor and more of an everyday user.
The last two gaming mice that I've had are the Jlab Epic Wireless Mouse and the Logitech MX Master. These two are very different in price, as the Jlab is only $30 and the MX is $120. I'll be comparing this HyperX Pulsefire Saga Pro to the MX. However, I preferred the Jlab for its lightness, which is one of the main reasons I love this new Pulsefire. It's not hefty by any means. In fact, it feels nearly hollow. I love it. It's very comfortable to use and doesn't feel like a brick, with many features that I won't use regularly.
It comes packaged well (see pics), and has many parts that are customizable to your liking. For example, this mouse comes with grip stickers you can place on the mouse if you like that texture more than the smooth plastic it comes with. I chose to put the stickers on, and I love the feeling. HyperX also has a website to connect the mouse to, so that you can change the LED color or the cadence of the light. I chose static, but there are a lot of options. It's a nice touch, especially because the LED doesn't light up unless the mouse is moved, which saves battery life. The site also allows you to assign button layouts and the sensitivity of your pointer (I like mine hyper fast, dad pun intended).
You can connect it by Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz, which is nice to have a choice. The 2.4 connection is more solid. It also comes with an adapter that allows the cord to be moved closer to where you have your mouse for a more solid connection. That's always nice.
I love this mouse, but I wish it were closer to the $100 mark. If I were looking for a mouse, I'd consider this one, but if you're in no rush but want to upgrade your current mouse, maybe wait for a sale on this one (Black Friday, for example).

I don’t think I have ever had a mouse that has had so many different little things you could customize about it. IT comes with two clicker button styles and two palm rest styles and even different side buttons. All of them are magnetically attached and easy to popp of and replace. You can mix and match them as you want and then add the grip stickers of your choice to customize it even more. To top it off with ultimate customization, you can even 3D print your own parts with open source models.
The mouse feels really light. You can use it wired, with the included 2.4Ghz dongle or with Bluetooth. With the Ngenuity software you can even customize the light around the scroll wheel. Along with that you can change things like the button assignments and the DPI steps. The one thing I don’t like about it is where the DPI toggle switch is, on the bottom. For some games, having it readily available is the best option, as most have it right below the scroll wheel. However, you can reassign the two side buttons of the scroll wheel click to be the DPI toggle. However, now you are taking away from other potential options.
This mouse is smooth and responsive. You can change the DPI as low as 100 or as high as 26,000. Compared to the mouse I use regularly though, it felt slightly slower for the DPI number. For instance, 1800 on my old mouse felt about the same as 2000 on this one. But, once I set the steps to my liking, it felt great.
Overall, I absolutely love the customization this mouse has. It is super light, almost too light at times when I have it plugged in and the soft flexible braided cable hanging off my table pulls it away when I let go. But, it is fast, responsive and feels nice with good solid switches.

The gaming mouse is light and very sensitive to match to the speed needed during the gaming. It works well in the very fast movement and interaction during the gaming.
Particularly, its setting can be changed via Ngenuity, and list of features are:
- Sensor can be changed from 200 to 2600, and have multiple setting and assign by color.
- Polling Rate: 1KHz, 500Hz, 250Hz, 125Hz
- Lift Distance: Low (1mm) / Hight (2mm)
- Brightness is range from 1 to 100%
- Battery Indicator can be set to warning if goes under x%, like 8%. It is up to 90 hours of duration.
- The light can be changes, has different effects within RGB color range.
The bluetooth connection is supported, but Ngenuity doesn’t support changes allowed as listed above. Instead it has to be done from the mouse underneath hardware control but still limited to DPI. But the mouse would not be listed in Ngeuity Application as connected.
The package includes interchangeable covers, easy to remove existing one and place the new one.
And as last big plus I find the 6ft large cable included in the package and braided material is quite handy.
What I wish it worked are:
1. the bluetooth connected version of the mouse and still be able to change setting from Ngenuity.
2. Included cables were both end USB-C
3. Replaceable cover in different colors.
To end, the mouse is very light and easy to move, wheel to scroll works well and moves smooth. customizable colors and cycle (how the colors are presented) works nicely and the wire is long, allowing a wide range of movement.

Mainly, I am pleased with a few different things with the HyperX. My PROs are:
- Fits the hand well
- Charges swiftly and one charge lasts a long while. I have yet to need to charge mine again. I read later that they tout a 100 hour battery life!
- Honeycomb design allows for ideal ventilation (and longer gaming!)
- Almost no lag at all; super wireless responsiveness
- USB-C charging port
CONs
- The only one I found would be the price point. A lot of people I know would say over $45 for a mouse is a lot.
However this one is so customizable. It has the HyperX NGENUITY software where you can customize how it lights up and other settings. If you are an avid gamer, you get it.
This is a great option if you don't want a bulky, complicated mouse but you still need swift top notch performance, especially wireless. It also comes in a protective, cloth sleeve that you can store it in as well. Overall, if you are an occasional gamer, this is good but the cost may not prove to be worth it/ However if you are a competitive gamer, this is absolutely worth the price point.

HyperX Pulsefire Saga Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse is extremely lightweight I think the lightest I’ve owned in a long time, has amazing laser response time, it also comes with 2 sets of parts to insure a good ergonomic fit quick change out with magnetic hold or another cool feature you can also 3-D print your own customizable parts switch it up whenever you want. Has 4K polling advanced mouse tracking at a flip of a switch, dual wireless connectivity, battery life is about 30-90 hours depending if you have it set to 1k or the 4 k pulling, the rapid response it amazing, I love how the mouse glides to effortlessly & smooth. another awesome feature download the HyperXGenuity software for more awesome features you can reprogram DPI presets & even better you can change your button actions to your liking, with the app you can also monitor battery life, HyperX has made everything so easy to use, no lag. Included in the box is the 2 shells, 2 button covers, 2 side button covers, 4K witless dongle extension adapter, USB C- USB A Hyperflex 2 cable. And a few other things, also a start up guide which I found handy especially cause I normally don’t tread this stuff,

The HyperX gaming mouse offers a responsive experience with satisfying button clicks and a smooth scroll wheel with clear delineations. The fast response was useful in combat-oriented scenes, nicer than my last mouse. I used to use a folder, but got a mouse pad when this mouse came. It was smooth & accurate on both, as long as it connected wirelessly to my PC. It came with a USB-A receiver as well as Bluetooth capability. Both worked equally well for me. The wired connection was not as reliable and the mouse froze a few times.
The mouse has a nice tactile feel and offers a few physical customizations. This is somewhat unique to the HyperX, allowing for different shapes and textures which helped deliver the perfect fit. The software supports programmable macros that automate complex in-game actions. However, there’s only 5 buttons which can be programmed. Macros can be customized, saved to profiles for different games and playstyles. The software was easy to use and figure out. LED lighting effects are also available with more options as you add more HyperX products.
This is a solid product which complements my needs and play style. I’m glad I got it.

Great Mouse Performance - Swappable Shell is Nice
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I have been using the HyperX Pulsefire Saga Pro Wireless mouse for about a week now. This is not my first gaming mouse, but it is my first from HyperX. I have used plenty of their peripherals over the years, so I was looking forward to trying it out. I have used it mainly for gaming but spent using it for office/productivity. I have used an array of Logitech, Razer, and SteelSeries mice over the years, and each one has a different feel and strengths and weaknesses. The configurability of this mouse means you can change/adjust the form factor to better suit your needs.
The mouse has a configurable body that splits the shell into 2 pieces – the palm half and the button half. There are 2 options for each half, and the 2 side buttons also have a swappable replacement pair. Also included with the mouse are a USB-A to USB-C charging cable, USB-A receiver, a round USB-C to USB-A coupler adapter, PTFE bottom replacement pads, and adhesive backed grippy pads. The mouse weighs in at lightweight 72g, HyperX’s 26k sensor, optical switches, a 4kHz polling rate, and a 90hr battery life.
Pulling the mouse out of the box I straight away drew comparisons to my other mice – a Logitech G Pro Wireless and Razer Deathadder V3. The Pulsefire, with its swappable shell, manages to feel like both mice depending on how its configured. The shell has 4 different configuration possibilities. The palm section varies in the height and overall radius. The first shell, which was installed fresh out of the box was the shorter/flatter feeling of the 2 and feeling very similar to my G Pro. The other shell, with its slightly higher shape and arc placement felt a lot closer to my Razer. The first button shell has buttons that are convex shaped and follow the curve of the mouse body. The other button shell has concave contours where your fingers rest. The side buttons can be swapped and their difference is how they slope against your thumb. One set has the back button stick further out and then slope towards the front button. The other set just reverses the slope. With all these combo options you can customize the mouse to your liking. All of these parts are held on by magnets, so swapping thing out is a painless task.
The rest of the mouse has a pretty straightforward design. The scroll wheel is clickable and has knotches to help with grip. Its also the only point on the mouse with any lighting features. The bottom of the mouse has the power/source switch to toggle between 2.4 and Bluetooth. There’s also the DPI button for on-the-fly adjustments. Rounding it out are the PTFE mouse skates which keeps the friction resistance to a minimum.
To configure the mouse you need the HyperX NGenuity app installed. This software was my only roadblock. I had difficulty installing it through the Windows store link, so I had to use the standalone link. I was able to install that version, but unfortunately the mouse could not be detected by the software. I tried installing the software on 4 computers before I was able to get things to work. All computers are newer and run Windows 11 – the Windows store link only worked on 1 computer, and that computer was the only one to detect the mouse with the software. All of the computers were able to detect the mouse and control it with Windows Dynamic Lighting controls. However, the lighting isn’t the only thing the software controls. The software controls the button assignments, DPI levels, polling rate, and the sensor lift-off distance. Using the one PC I could get the software to recognize the mouse, these settings were easy to change. The settings get saved to the mouse and can be transferred from system to system that way.
Using the mouse has been a solid experience. The 72g weight and PTFE skates make it effortless to move the mouse around on hard and soft mouse pad surfaces. The scroll wheel has well defined stops so no errant scrolls are incurred. The left and right mouse buttons have a heavier click than what I would have expected, and the sound of the click is fairly audible. The side buttons, in contrast, are much softer and quieter to click. Tracking of the mouse is accurate – the preset polling rate of 1kHz works well for day to day operations. It also gives you the 90hr battery life - higher polling rates will cut the battery life. You are also constrained to the 2.4 GHz connection for higher polling rates – wired is limited to 1kHz, and I can only assume Bluetooth is as well. I couldn’t connect to a computer with Bluetooth that was also recognized by the software.
Playing games with the Saga Pro has been a good experience. No noticeable latency or input lag with the 2.4 GHz connection. I thought the slightly heavier click would crop up as something I might notice, but it didn’t seem to faze me. The slight texture of the shell ensured a good grip even after longer gaming sessions. The shape of the shell also played a roll in maintaining comfort through its ergonomic shape. The concave buttons are my preference, which is really the only departure from the shape/feel of my G Pro. In my mind I found the center of the button easier, which makes for a consistent/repeatable click pressure compared to off-center clicks. The sensor on the mouse appears to have a high level of accuracy as I didn’t notice any issues picking smaller precise movements. The lift-off setting of 1mm or 2mm is a nice feature. I am fine with the 1mm, but one of my kids actually preferred how the mouse behaved with the 2mm setting. He games a lot more than I do, and I guess that worked better for his style.
The 90hr battery life means I can remain untethered for longer, which is important for me as I tend to jump from machine to machine and locations in my house. Having to stay wired in is just something I don’t want to deal with. I do miss out on the one feature of my G Pro – the Powerplay mat, which maintains a perpetual charge. However, 90hrs that’s a very long time to go between charges. Using the 4K polling rate will cut that down a decent amount, but it will still be several gaming sessions between charges, so if I run it empty I will only have myself to blame.
Overall this is a really solid mouse. It has a nice ergonomic shape, and the shell swapping allows you to adapt the mouse more to your liking. The use of optical switches should prolong the life of the mouse and avoid the dreaded double-click you get from analog switches. The 90hr battery life should keep you playing for long intervals before needing to recharge, and the 26k DPI and 4k polling should satisfy even the most hardcore of gamers. For now I’m hopeful the software bugs will be worked out, since that was the only negative I found. This isn’t my first time using a new product where the companion software is a little buggy, but I’ve never had it not be fixed.

Modular design makes this mouse a game changer

Do you have commitment issues? HyperX has the mouse for you! The Pulsefire Saga Pro is an extremely interesting mouse. Literally every surface on the mouse is modularly replaceable. There’s obviously more to this mouse than just the replaceable parts, but I’ll cut to the chase: it’s the coolest feature it offers.
Out of the box, you’ll get the mouse, fully dressed of course, a USB cable, receiver end (so you can charge or plug the receiver in) and a full change of parts. The mouse is extremely light weight at 72g. It feels good in the hand, and the choice of plastic makes it feel like it will age well. The mouse has 2 main buttons, a third button on the scroll wheel, 2 side forward/back buttons and that’s about it. On the bottom of the mouse you’ll find the power switch that lets you choose between the wireless receiver, and bluetooth. There’s another button on the bottom that switches DPIs, which is handy.
The buttons and surfaces feel quite nice. Everything is properly clicky, and the scroll wheel the appropriate notchiness. There is a RGB LED hiding in it, and that is the only thing giving this away as a ‘gaming’ mouse. The Hyper NGENUITY software lets you control this and other aspects of the mouse.
Sensor wise I found the mouse to be quite responsive. The button to change DPI without software is top notch. It tracked successfully on both even and uneven surfaces. This sensor can’t track on glass, but I don’t think that will matter to most gamers.
Buttons are optical. What that means for you is: unlike mechanical switches these shouldn’t go bad; i.e. phantom clicks or otherwise. The construction being fully modular means that the optical switches make it less susceptible to damage.
Battery life seems good. I’ve been impressed so far, but it’s only been a week.
I’ve used this on my gaming rig, and also using bluetooth on my Mac. This mouse works well in both operating systems. As a bluetooth mouse, you can pair it initially, but if you need to pair it to another device or swap, just hold the DPI button and both mice button until the mouse wheel flashes blue.
The modularity of the mouse is what really stood out to me. A bit of playing around, and you start to figure out how to gently pull this magnetically connected mouse apart. This mouse can go from feeling ‘deathaddr’-ish to ‘Pro X’-ish with just about 20 seconds of part swapping. The included pieces have a body that’s a bit more palm style, and another that’s more clutch style. The button plate are a bit more inset on one, and more rounded on the other. The side buttons are a bit more protruding for one set, and more flush on the other. WIth the back off you'll find a place to hide the USB receiver too.
What’s extremely interesting is that HyperX actually has provided 3d printable pieces on printables.com for you to print in whatever PLA material you want. While my printer is down for maintenance - I’m totally going to print some wild looking parts out of weird PLA. Other people have even remixed these pieces, adding more mouse profiles (including a body piece that reminds me of the MX series) making this one of the most versatile and customizable mice on the market.
Overall this mouse is a super interesting package. You get a top notch sensor, optical switches, bluetooth and high speed wireless, and great battery life. But the kicker is of course is the modularity - making this a mouse you can customize to your heart’s content. If you have a 3D printer, it gets even more interesting - as printables gives you the start to all sorts of colors and modifications to an otherwise boring black mouse. Overall, this is a super interesting product!

The Pulsefire Saga Pro is a great mouse for those who don't want to try anything new. The mouse takes all of the standard features that every PC user is used to and simply ensures that they work well. So well, in fact, that it's almost impossible to notice that anything has changed. There is excellent button articulation, sensitive and precise movement, wonderful battery life, a smooth glide, appropriate tactile feedback, etc. But it does not move the needle in any obvious way.
HyperX advertises the mouse as though it has innovative modularity, but the feature has been squandered on components that are nearly indistinguishable from one another. The magnetic connections do allow the body and the buttons to both stay in place and easily disassemble, but the swappable shells are far too close in size for one to provide benefit over the other. I genuinely cannot tell the difference between them when they are in my hand.
I love the grip stickers that can be added to either of the included buttons sets. And, I appreciate that accessories (such as replacement feet/pads & USB extension) are included, but I feel as though there is a lot of wasted opportunities here. I truly wish that more sizing options were available right out of the box.
I feel as though this mouse is all function and no flash - which is fine. But even the box is lackluster and fails to grab any attention. Don't get me wrong, this is a good mouse that will serve all PC users well, but it doesn't take anything to the next level. I would have appreciated improved ergonomics as opposed to sticking with an old design that is comfortable only in a generic sense.
Purchase this mouse only for its light weight, good battery life, and the movement accuracy. The adaptable form factor is a letdown as is the almost nonexistent RGB light. The modularity shows great potential but doesn't prove useful in this iteration.

First Impressions
As a gamer who enjoys FPS and PvP shooters like Call of Duty and Fortnite, I find the HyperX Pulsefire Saga Pro an excellent addition to my gaming setup. I’ve nicknamed this lightweight wireless mouse the “Transformer” because it uses magnets and swappable modular components. It feels great in the hand and glides smoothly, providing the performance, ergonomics, and comfort needed for long gaming sessions, complete with a long-lasting battery. This professional-grade mouse exudes high quality, ensuring you won’t be disappointed with its agility during gameplay. The optical switches and buttons deliver a satisfying click, which feels very premium. You can always expect high standards from HyperX; this product is no exception.
Setup and Unboxing 5/5
In the box, you'll find the HyperX Pulsefire Saga Pro, a USB 4K wireless dongle, a dongle extension adapter, a USB-C to USB-A HyperFlex 2 cable, grip strips, spare mouse skates, two button covers, two shells, two side button pairs, and a Quick Start Guide. Everything is neatly packaged, and the shipping process was smooth. You can choose between 2.4 GHz wireless or Bluetooth connectivity, but you also have the option to connect via a wired USB cable. All setups are quick and straightforward, and it works seamlessly on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. If you have an Omen laptop, you can enjoy Instant Pairing without needing a separate transmitter!
Customization 4/5
Next, you can customize the mouse to fit your preferences. The tool-free modular design is the standout feature, and numerous files are available on Printables that you can print or modify yourself if you own a 3D printer. I opted for the scooped clickers, aggressive styling for the palm plate, and the tallest side buttons for my setup. Additionally, the included high-performance grip tape enhances the overall feel. Weighing in at around 72g, this mouse allows quick or sweeping motions without struggling. Whatever your gaming needs may be, this mouse has got you covered! You can download the customization software from the Microsoft Store to fine-tune your settings, including buttons, presets, and lighting. The HyperX NGENUITY software allows further customization of DPI settings, button assignments, and RGB lighting. However, it is currently only available for Windows, which may be a limitation for Mac users.
Performance and Handling 5/5
The Pulsefire Saga Pro is equipped with the HyperX 26K sensor, which boasts a maximum polling rate of 4,000Hz, ensuring precise tracking and responsiveness without any debounce or delays. In fast-paced shooters, every millisecond counts, and this mouse excels. The HyperX Optical Switches provide tactile feedback, ensuring each click registers accurately while benefiting from laser actuation and NVIDIA Reflex validation for optimized system latency!
Battery Life & Connectivity 5/5
The impressive battery life lasts up to 90 hours on a single charge in 1,000Hz mode. Even in the higher 4,000Hz polling mode, it holds up for around 30 hours, sufficient for several gaming sessions. Connectivity options include 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.0, and Instant Pair for compatible Omen laptops, providing flexibility across devices. Battery life has not been a concern; I've used it for over a week on a single charge.
[+] Pros [+]
- Reliable performance and connectivity. I experienced no drops or interference while using the 2.4GHz mode, and Bluetooth was solid.
- The modular design is user-friendly; magnets hold components securely yet allow for easy separation.
- Editable files on Printables provide a unique customization opportunity if you own a 3D printer and have CAD skills. The possibilities are endless!
[-] Cons [-]
- The shells and buttons included are pretty similar, with only minor differences between the supplied mods.
- Performance-wise, you could opt for another HyperX mouse without the modular options to save money.
- A 3D printer is required to fully take advantage of the customization options.
- The mouse may disassemble if you unplug it from the USB. Pulling out the cord can separate the bottom half, which is quite inconvenient.
- I’m not a fan of the DPI button placement being on the bottom.
- The NGENUITY software connectivity has issues; it failed to recognize my mouse either wirelessly or via USB.
- NGENUITY is only compatible with Windows OS, limiting accessibility for Mac users.
- There is only one color option available. I would like to see a white variant for lighter builds.
- Some users may find the modular components to be excessive.
Final Thoughts [4.5/5]
The HyperX Pulsefire Saga Pro is a top-tier choice for gamers who prioritize performance and customization. Its lightweight design, responsive tracking, and modular features make it a versatile tool for various gaming styles. While the software limitation regarding operating systems is a drawback, the overall package offers excellent value.

The HyperX Pulsefire Saga Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse offers unique customization of eight interchangeable, magnetic parts. Customizable components include four thumb buttons, two main clicker sets and two palm rests. It’s novel that the housing is replaceable, yet the way it slides out is a bit annoying to me. A few times now when I try to pull out the charging cable, I end up yanking off the housing due to it not really locking in, but being held in by magnets. I’m sure this is likely to occur less since I now know what to expect. Also, the housing of the mouse is slightly textured and my preference would be smooth. Sounds like a good reason for customization. The shape of the mouse is very nice and fits well in my hand. As others may have different needs, try out various combinations and surely one can find the right setup to suit hand size and grip preferences. For those wanting to step it up a notch, use printables.com to access digital blueprints to further customize dimensions and color to 3D print these parts.
After using this mouse for an extended period, I like the weight of the mouse, it’s not super lightweight, but it’s a happy medium at 72 grams. Battery life is great at 90 hours (1K polling mode) and 30 hours (4K polling mode for enhanced mouse tracking). The Saga Pro gaming mouse glides well and features a HyperX 26K sensor and optical switches. I’ve found the mouse to be responsive and tactile, yet the click is a bit noisy compared to some other mice I have used, yet not a big issue.
The Saga Pro is accompanied by HyperX NGENUITY software to customize remap button actions, lighting, battery level and DPI Presets up to 26k; yet note that these customizations will not transfer when utilizing the mouse on a new device. This mouse features dual wireless connectivity via 2.4GHz wireless dongle or Instant Pair for enabled OMEN gaming laptops, or Bluetooth with compatible devices.
I’d recommend this HyperX Pulsefire Saga Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse as it performs as one would expect, provides some very unique customization options and gamers will appreciate the battery life it delivers. The NGENUITY software is easy to use and meets my expectations for what I want to adjust and monitor.

I got the HyperX Pulsefire Saga Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse and immediately gave it to my 20-year-old son and he absolutely loves it. He’s a big PC gamer, and this mouse checked all the boxes for him — lightweight, super responsive, and very comfortable to use during long gaming sessions.
From a parent’s perspective, I really appreciated how easy the setup was. He just plugged in the USB dongle, and it was ready to go in seconds — no complicated steps or extra software needed to get started (though he later downloaded the HyperX software to customize the buttons, which he said was simple to use too).
He mentioned the wireless connection is fast with no lag, and the battery lasts a long time. He also really likes how the extra buttons can be customized for his games — apparently that’s a big deal for him.
All in all, it was much appreciated from my son and made me feel like the “cool mom” for once! 😄 If you’re shopping for a gamer, this is a solid choice that works great right out of the box.

So, I just receive my new HyperX Pulsefire SAGA Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse about a week ago and have been putting it through its paces. I recently acquired a new gaming laptop, so this was perfect timing in trying out a new gaming mouse. Now this gaming mouse is unlike any other gaming mouse I've tried before. It's modular and comes with additional interchangeable magnetic components included in the packaging. However, if you're like me and you wanna get in on the action quickly, you stick with the current setup it comes in upon opening the package. Let me start by saying how smooth and comfortable this mouse fits in my hand. Ergonomically comfortable and ultra lightweight. On the bottom of the mouse is a switch and a button. The switch allows you to choose where you want to connect via bluetooth or 2.4GHz. It also serves as an off switch by moving the selector to the middle position. The button on the other side allows you to change the DPI setting. Once you connect it to your desktop/laptop you can download the NGENUITY software, which allows you to tweak and customize the mouse as much as you like. Over the last week, this mouse has proven it's sharp accuracy and response time. It's amazing, how smooth and precise it is while gaming. Something that gamers tend to love is how compatible peripherals can be and this mouse is no different, it can connect to the standard PC, PS5, and Xbox Series gaming consoles. Its been a week and it hasn't shown any signs of slowing down, which so far adheres to HyperX's claim of battery life up to 90 hours. It's still going strong. But when it does eventually starts to lose its power, you can simply charge it back up or use it while its charging with its somewhat interchangeable USB-C to USB-A charging cable that's included. I really love this new mouse and know you will too!!! It's fun and easy to use.

Impressive, customizable, modular gaming mouse

This is an impressive mouse.
I have big hands, and I often prefer a sculpted, supporting mouse that I can fully grip when doing a good deal of mousing for productivity, design, and even when gaming.
There are other times, depending on my gaming needs or my portability concerns, where I desire a sleeker/slimmer mouse profile and different ergonomics for more of a “claw” hold.
This HyperX mouse is the first that combines magnetic interchangeable parts with FULL BODY adaptation in addition to the typical customizable buttons, scroll speed and click sensitivity.
The mouse performed WONDERFULLY in FPS games, and had excellent grip for fast-paced multiplayer action. I was able to travel with it in its more compact configuration where it easily fit in the pocket of my laptop sleeve, and delivered excellent tracking for both FPS and TBS/MMORPG formats.
The mouse was very lightweight, striking a good balance of the weightlessness that allows for sudden fast movement, and just enough heft where you feel like you’re in control of something of quality.
Many of its users will appreciate the customizable components as a way to set the mouse to their exact specifications, but the pieces can create a number of comfort profiles that I enjoy switching between for multiple use cases. This is a great mouse “kit” if treated as such.

This mouse offers a lot of customization that I have not seen in many other gaming mice offerings. You can adjust the mouse height and the buttons depth by simply pulling off one modular section, attached by magnets, and then adding the size you prefer. It only comes with two size options, which is a medium profile and a slightly lower profile. In addition to that, you get to choose your button depth, whether you want them concave or level. I really like the physical button that adjusts your DPI so adjustments can be made on the fly and not through the software. I would really like to see multiple profiles supported like being able to connect to different computers by switching Bluetooth channels like office mice use. It really should support three Bluetooth channels. The Ngenuity software is fine But it doesn’t support being connected by Bluetooth so in order to use it, you will need to use the little dongle that comes with the mouse. It would be nice if the software worked with the Bluetooth. One complaint I have is that the grip stickers do not come already fixed to the mouse and you as the user have to apply them. Furthermore, if you want to use both modular parts, you will have to sacrifice grip on one of them because they only supply enough grip stickers to do one profile. The mouse is very light, very responsive, and very fast. That is after all what you’re looking for in a gaming mouse.
