Got this instead of the razer seiren mini v2. Really a great product. I hooked it up to a boom arm with a pop filter and now I sound like I have a $200 microphone. Recommend this to everyone.

I got this on sale for $39.99 but even at full price this is a perfect microphone for gaming or business use. I'm a simple person so I love that it's plug & play without needing to download additional software that use gimmicky voice changers etc. It also features one big button at the top to mute/unmute. The microphone is solid red when it's unmuted and blinks red when muted. The mic sits on my desk with the included holder and the included cable is lengthy so there should be no issue putting it in the perfect spot. I have no issues with voice quality at all my freinds on Discord were impressed when I told them it's just a cheap HyperX mic because they have +$100 Yeti mics. If you're on the fence about this mic this is your sign to pull the trigger!

I purchased this as a replacement for a Blue Snowball that died on me after 4 good years of daily use and abuse. Physically, the Solocast feels solidly built, and the “tap to mute” button on the top is pretty intuitive. This mic is good for the price, but don’t expect it to be the “end-all” of USB mics. The Solocast is very “mid-heavy”; lows and highs have noticeable compression to them. This isn’t inherently bad, but it can cause the Solocast to sound flat. It’s very apparent in voice calls where bitrate is on the lower side of “good” (Discord, Teamspeak, Zoom, etc). I strongly suggest buying a shock mount and pop filter as well as this mic loves to pick up plosives. The Snowball, while having a lower frequency range, almost sounded better tonally in my opinion. It picked up more “low-end” and gave an almost announcer or podcast feel. I ended up returning this mic and purchasing it’s bigger brother: the HyperX Quadcast. The price jump for the Quadcast is definitely worth it, but if you only have $60 to spend, the Solocast should suffice. However, I highly recommend looking at the Snowball for comparison before purchasing. You can’t really go wrong with either for $60, but what kind of sound you want will determine which you should get.

Really good microphone, but a bit too good

This microphone was extremely good, but to the point where it’s too good. It catches everything and is extremely clear, but if you have a boom arm you have to be careful, cause almost every movement or small noise is apparent. I added a pop filter recently so that fixed most of the extra noise. All in all the microphone was really good and I definitely would recommend to others. The quality was great, it’s metal and the included tripod is also very good quality. Once again the sound quality is phenomenal and the microphone is extremely good, but you will probably need a pop filter if you intend to keep the microphone on for recordings, podcasts, or streaming. If you got it for zoom and intend to unmute for a short period of time then you probably won’t need a pop filter.

Wonderful little microphone for office use on long zoom calls all day. My colleagues noticed the clarity of my voice on calls during online conference calls after switching to this microphone. Noise cancelling was great. Worked easily enough - just plug it into your monitor or your laptop on a USB jack and off you go to using it. Also has a convenient switch off button on top of the microphone (which I end up occasionally touching when I move my hands, which was a tiny bit cumbersome to get used to).

Plug and play but no voice monitor or app. Very basic entry mic compatible with lots of arms. Sound carries my voice full bodied. Bought a clown nose for it but may not be necessary. Solid for streaming USB C to A go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

This is a great mic for the price. I picked it up because I wanted something a little better looking than my Rode VMP+ for Zoom / Meet calls. I know I could have left the mic out of frame, but I like having it slightly in frame, and the audio quality is quite a bit better when you get the mic at the right distance. I do recommend a shock mount and pop filter for this mic (as I do for all mics) since it will amplify any handling noise. Run it through OBS for some noise suppression and a bit of a limiter, and you’re golden.
