If you are a fan of Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, or the first Hyrule warriors this game is worth it. Their is lots of stuff to do in the game, it took me about 35 hours to finish the main story and their is lots to do after that. Lots of fun characters to play as.

I absolutely LOVE this game. I was hooked on the "Warriors" series of games since "Dynasty Warriors 3" on the PS2, and while I didn't get all of them (because there are a LOT of them) I picked up quite a few. Also having a love of Zelda since being an NES kid in the 80's, when I saw the first Hyrule Warriors (WiiU) I couldn't believe it. That game played, and plays, even better than I'd expected it to. That might be the perfect "Warriors" mash-up game. Breath of the Wild was also amazing, so to have the ability to play in that timeline again, and possibly see what happened before BotW, was exciting. There's a twist to this that I won't spoil, but if you love Zelda and/or Warriors titles, you'll love it. Even if you just need to blow off some steam by plowing through 2,000 bad guys with your sword for 5 minutes, it's a good time. So if any of that appeals to you, definitely grab this game.

I wa so excited to buy this game after having just finished playing BOTW. Being able to see an expansion of the story of the Hyrule warriors is awesome. Revali’s sassiness makes me laugh. I’m glad to have a game that will give me hours of play during this quarantine.

This game is fun. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter if you play docked or handheld, this is an ugly game. Never really gets higher than 720p. Definitely looks worse if you're using any kind of higher end TV. The game is still fun though. Great combat and fun story.

There are performance issues with frame rate, but if that sort of issue doesn't bother you and you enjoyed the world of Breath of the Wild, this is a perfect complement to that experience. Getting to play as the champions, Impa, and other cast is amazingly fun.

Great gameplay and story progression. Each character feels unique and strong In their respective class. Each shop feels as if it has a purpose, granting access to materials to upgrade your character. 10/10 would recommend to any legend of Zelda fan new or old.

This game uses a very different (but still fun) play style than the original breath of the wild but fleshes out the story in an excellent way. Where the first game was about mystery and exploration, this one is all action, combat, and exciting cutscenes.

If you liked Zelda: BoTW, and also like Dynasty Warriors-esque hack-and-slash, then this game is a must-have for you. The game plays similar to the previous Hyrule Warriors, but has mechanics and functions taken from the BoTW series: Sheikah Slate is used as extra skills unique to each individual character you play as. The main story of the game takes place 100 years prior to BoTW, right before the Calamity, and is canon to the original game. Overall, the game does not elaborate on more information that you might've known from BoTW, and is more like a walk down memory lane with a few twists. Replayability is fairly high, leveling and upgrading each character's skills and weapons, and I assume there will be updates and DLC to come. Wipe out a bunch of Moblins with style in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. It's a no-brainer hack-and-slash for you and a buddy.

I am a big fan of the Zelda video games. When I saw this I had to have it. Having played it it is a great game. There is a lot of action and items that you have to figure out. If you are a fan of Zelda and Link this is a must game to own and play.

Awesome story and gameplay! This was so well done and fun to play! It’s challenging yet simple enough for my 6 year old to play and have a lot of fun! They added a lot of elements that really makes you want to never stop playing!

    Action Prequal to BotW!

If you're a fan of the the Zelda games, and a fan of the Dynasty Warrior games, then Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is for you! While Zelda fans patiently await the next installment of Breath of the Wild, this action packed prequal is a great game to have along the storyline. Hyrule Warriors was a good action based game, but Age of Calamity had a great story to go along with the action and keep one interested. I have seen some people complain about the repetitive nature of the "go here and kill this many" characters/creatures, but when you think about it. Many games repeat some formula of sorts. I think that's where the story comes in, and adds to this action game. Link, Zelda, and the BotW storyline? What's not to like about this game, unless you're just not into faster paced action.

Not your typical Zelda game. It's hack and slash through and through, which is so vastly different than the puzzle solving, more 1:1 type combat of Breath of the Wild. No learning curve really even though it was my first time playing this type of game. Like the return to Hyrule and learning more of the story leading up to BOTW. But don't expect your typical Zelda!

Really great game if you don't mind combat being less than deep. It can get a bit repetitive, but there are other powers to use than just the standard weapons. Plus a bunch of playable characters that help mix things up. The story is very entertaining and well done, although don't expect it to be an exact prequel to Breath of the Wild. More like a "version" of it.

Great game, only hindered by the Switch's hardware. During times of more intense action scenes/character super ability activations, the game will slow down a little and struggle to catch back up. But otherwise another fun entry in the Breath Of The Wild and Hyrule Warriors series.

This game is so much fun and I enjoy so much. Graphically it's breathtaking and gameplay wise it's very easy to control. I'm liking the characterization and I'm also loving the fact that each character has a unique style. Definitely a thumbs up

This is a much more story focused game then BoTW which is odd as this is a dynasty warriors type game. But this gives a lot of context to the Breath of the Wild story. This does have some performance issues as there will be too many enemies on screen (Down to the 10 to 15 fps) for the switch to handle but that's to be expected.

Be aware that this is not a traditional prequel to BOTW. The combat is completely different and the focus is more on that combat than on exploration. That being said, besides the frame rate dropping in co op this game looks great and I had a great time playing through it from start to finish with my partner. Not perfect but would definitely recommend it.
