Customers are saying

Popcorn of video games. It has a very fun and addicting arcade feel, which makes every play session enjoyable. Being back in the Breath of the Wild Hyrule is great, even if it is was less deep. The combat is fun and snappy. Only negative is that the graphics aren't that great, there can be large frame dips, which both get worse when playing split screen co-op. However, split screen co-op is a blast and I'm very happy it is here. Like any good bucket of popcorn, it is fun to share or just munch it all up your self.

Different from the regular Zelda of the past but still great story line. Battling is different but fun. Still a classic with a modern touch!

If you liked Hyrule Warriors then you will love this. A nice side story to BoTW with enough content to validate the Nintendo price.

Nice warriors game with a BOTW coat of paint. Good story additions and good gameplay. It’s not BOTW 2 but it’s a solid action game.

This game is so fun, and the best part is, it’s even better with a friend. Couch co-op is the most enjoyable way to play this game. It’s a very different game from Breath of the Wild, so don’t go in expecting a prequel in a gameplay sense. It’s a story prequel, and an excellent one, that brings back the voice talent from BotW and adds to the lore. I loved the depth of play and the different types of activities to complete. I have bought two as Christmas gifts for family because I enjoyed it so much. Highly recommend!

I bought three great Switch titles when I got my Switch Lite (this title, Breath of the Wild, Shin Megami Tensei V) and while all three are great titles, this is the one I absolutely couldn't put down. I was up until 6:00 am Christmas Eve playing this, and would have kept playing too, but my hands needed a break. Solid Musou series controls and gameplay and a nice variable order to the missions and sidequests make no two playthroughs exactly the same.

A fun game with a few flaws

The game overwhelms you with too many controls to learn at the start of the game. There’s no pacing when introducing them to you. The tutorial text is small and easily missed when the battle is frantic. There’s also no “practice arena” that guides you the various button combinations. However, the story falls in nicely with Breath of the Wild and, for a button masher, introduces enough layers to keep the game interesting. The desire to improve your characters’ weapons and levels keeps you engaged. Whether or not it’s worth the full $60 depends on if you have the tolerance for a more complex button scheme and a seemingly limited method of gameplay (hack’n’slash). Or if you’re just a die hard Zelda fan and want to experience the story line more than anything else.

This game was a blast! While it wasn't exactly what I expected in terms of an open-world experience like the original, it still delivered a fun and enjoyable gameplay. If you're looking to unleash your inner warrior and engage in thrilling battles against Bokoblin, you'll definitely have a great time with this game.

Big fan of breath of the wild so is expecting great things from this. I did not play the original Hyrule Warrior. I haven’t played a Zelda game since twilight princess on the Wii. I got a switch light to use as a portable system with breath of the wild being one of the three initial games I purchased. I was really blown away by what they were able to accomplish on the system. So, as this was a prequel I was hoping for a great game even though it was in a completely different style. It’s very good and a solid game. Plays well, looks good and has decent performance. It’s just missing something for me.

Hyrule Warriors has been far better than I expected. The gameplay has been enjoyable, but the backstory, cutscenes, and contextual information about the champions and the history of Hyrule has been a great deal of fun to watch. I was expecting just a simple fighting game that would tide me over until BOTW 2 was released. it's clear that this was more than just a "filler" game; it legitimately adds a great deal backstory to the BOTW storyline. Heartily recommended if you enjoyed Breath of the Wild!

Great action game with Breath of The Wild love all in every faucet. Unfortunately I wish the game performed better as the framerate quite frequently dips and I wish the game overall looked sharper on my television.

I love this game so much more than I had thought possible after my first very frustrated hour of playing. I received the game on release date, and hadn't seen gameplay beforehand. I went into this game expecting a similar gameplay style as BOTW which is 100% not the case. However, I will say that I gave the game a chance because I wanted to know the story lines badly enough and I'm very glad I did 40 hours of gameplay in and I'm not even at 50% complete. Totally worth stretching my game repertoire for.

The first Hyrule Warriors was a lot of fun, and I knew it was only a matter of time before I had to get the sequel to it. I was not disappointed. If you like that Dynasty Warriors type of gameplay, you'll find it here just loaded up with Zelda lore. Highly recommended.
