This purchase was for the Nintendo Switch. Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition is a great game.

This is the third time I've bought this game... I'm going to talk about some improvements I've noticed when playing this version. Loading times feel a bit faster than the Wii U version. Graphics are more colorful, closer to the 3DS version than the Wii U version. It feels like the Switch is able to handle more enemies on screen than the Wii U version and with a higher frame rate to boot, heck even the menus have a higher frame rate. All the content from the 3DS version is now back and in HD. When playing the Adventure mode, missions feel more balanced in difficulty to start off. On top of that, previous DLC such as characters and costumes and more, are now added rewards for completing certain missions on these Adventure maps. But he biggest thing added to this mode is the ability to buy item cards with rupees. Rather than waste time replaying a mission to get one item, you can just buy it and be done as long as you've unlocked the item before (I'm pretty sure this wasn't in either version before). There's just two or three downsides to this version compared to my Wii U experience. Just like on 3DS, there are more materials to find meaning more materials to grind for to upgrade characters where on Wii U there were less materials and it was easier to upgrade more characters. Another thing is amiibo don't seem to give higher ranking items until you've unlocked the higher ranked version in game. I recall on Wii U being able to get higher level items with amiibo easier. Also the Link amiibo isn't used to unlock the Spinner weapon anymore, which is good as it's an in-game unlock now, but the Young Link amiibo doesn't get you items for Young Link in-game, it gets you stuff for regular Link. In fact it doesn't seem like the other Zelda related amiibo, like the Guardian or Bokoblin, got any special functions and they just act as regular amiibo; would of been nice if this gave rare materials more often or something. And finally... THERE'S STILL NO PLAYABLE GROOSE! TL;DR Looks better, plays better, includes all previous content and plenty of quality of life improvements all around with barely any negatives.

Excellent if you enjoy the genre. Layer on top all the included characters etc and it's a blast. Not to mention the portable aspect of the switch. It really outshines the parred back 3ds version

Quite possibly the best Musou spin-off game (maybe even best Musou period). There's so much content in this game I don't think it's actually possible to finish it. Eveything looks great and plays great. The Zelda theme is excellently handled and all of the characters play completely unique. Definitely grab if you're a Zelda or Musou fan. It's even better if you have a friend for 2 player action!

Hyrule warriors DE takes the beauty of the wii u version and all the extras on the 3ds version with all the dlc and mushes them all for a game that was already considered a great musuo game into one of the best. The cast overall shine as everyone is vastly different in playstyle Bosses offer methods to defeat them that is not go in head first. Wide arange landscapes that doesn't feel to repetatve or copy paste. And thats just the main story. We haven't even touch the side quest missions, maps, fairy system and all other extras. If you have never played a musuo game before, this is the perfect entry point since its tailored to begginer friendly and simplified, but still offers methods that veteran players will enjoy.

DW titles have been pretty whack for a while now, but oddly their licensed titles are pretty good. I've put god knows how many hours into this game. It's a great time sink with lots to do, and with it being on the Switch, you can take it on the go. (I know there's the DS version, but the Switch out-performs that pretty easily.)

Hyrule Warriors is a dynasty warriors style game with a stylish Zelda makeover. If that was all it was it would be hard to recommend but the devolpers took their time and really made something special. The game has references in characters, skins, and weapons that will have even the most hardcore fans in shock and awe. The best part of this game its not just aesthetic. The game is one of the better examples of a warriors game in the last few years. Dynasty Warriors 8 was just ok and 9 was a train wreck. Being a definitive edition port from the wii U expect all the DLC and more already packed into this game. If you like completing games 100% this game is about 600hrs of content. Is it repetitive? Yes... but in the thats never stopped the Warriors series before because the combat is just too fun. PS: the game has couch co-op so play this game with a friend or loved one to tackle some of of this games harder challenges.

This must be the third time I've bought a variation of this exact game, but the reasons for that are pretty clear; the Switch version is the definitive edition, including all of the updates/characters/content that were trickled out for the Wii U and 3DS versions. If you're interested mainly for the portability, by comparison the 3DS version was plagued with slowdown and horrible control for any version besides the New 3DS, which you won't have to worry about here. Even gamers who don't care for the Warriors series will most likely enjoy playing this game, as there's more to do and the familiar Zelda series trappings to entertain them.

I owned the Wii U and 3DS versions, and both had performance issues. This one feels much better. It seem to be at 60FPS ONLY IN DOCKED 30FPS handheld. Tons of content, great gameplay. This is the version to get.

This game released on Wii U with a ton of content. Then it got DLC. Then the 3DS version came along with all content plus more content. Then that version got more content. Now the Switch version is here with all previous content plus a few costumes. You could easily put 100s of hours into this game. The main story is good and should keep you occupied for a while. The strength of this game is the size of the roster.

I enjoyed this game a lot although I was able to beat the main "Legends" mode on Normal difficulty with all branching paths in 3 days/14 Hours and upgrade 5 of the characters half way through their skill trees. I haven't tried the other modes yet. Graphics, cut scenes and music are well done and does justice to the Zelda name. Controls are tight and responsive. Definitely an upgrade over the 3ds version. I do feel that the Fire Emblem Warriors game has more substance and a harder difficulty that require more strategy and character switching to complete objectives which might be a better value. I recommend picking this up on sale for $40 which is what I did

I've waiting for this to come to switch since before it was even announced. Loved it on the Wii u and with the announcement it would come with everything that was released on Wii u and 3ds, I had to pick this up. There's so much content to go through and with over 15 characters to play as and 4 modes to play through, you are going to be at this game awhile! If you enjoy warriors style games then do yourself a favor and pick this up!

It's Hyrule Warriors with all of the DLC content and improved graphics. If you enjoyed this on the Wii U then you know exactly what you're getting into. It runs better and looks better though. It's a lot of fun blasting through the hordes of enemies. It doesn't feel much like a Zelda game as much as just a Skin slapped onto another game (which it basically is) so don't go in expecting it to be a masterpiece of gaming, but it's a lot of fun and I really enjoy all the Zelda theming, characters and environments, even if they don't always feel particularly authentic.

This game is fun if you like Dynasty warriors type games with a flair of Legend of Zelda added to it. It does get kinda repetitive though because most objectives in the missions are either take over enemy bases or defeat an officer. The missions with the giant bosses are pretty annoying though. Theres a lot of characters to choose from but most of the time I only choose a select few.

I’m a bit obsessed with this game. I’m a fan of most Zelda games, never played a Dynasty Warriors game, but Hyrule Warriors is just the best game. I played the Wii U version for hundreds of hours and I was more than willing to start over for the switch. All the new content is cool and it played better on the pro controllers. I can’t recommend this game enough it’s so fun.

It's actually really fun but some people might find it too repetitive. You pretty much back and slash your way to victory but you can do combos and specials and other moves so you can make it somewhat strategic. You go around the level map defeating enemies and capturing command posts and fighting bosses and mid bosses. It has a lot of cool charectersvand a lot to unlock. The gameplay is pretty fast and smooth, it seems to perform well on the switch. I had a great time playing it.

I owned a Wii U but never picked up a copy of this game. I am glad I waited though as this game is perfect for the Switch and it is the definite experience as it comes with all of the extra content. I love solving puzzles in the mainline Zelda games, but being able to battle hordes of mass enemies is a refreshing delight!

Basically this is LoZ but with Dynasty Warriors flare and actually has a surprising amount of characters to choose and play from. More in depth than I thought initially and a great game to kill time on the go. Fans of Zelda I think would enjoy a new take on an old series and give a good hack and slash a shot

I played the original Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U due to a friend who let me borrow it. Now I have it on Switch with all the DLC. It's a good game if you like that Warriors style of gameplay, but long play sessions will get boring over time. The vast amount of characters are a treat though.

I have the Wii U and 3DS versions of Hyrule Warriors and I’ve decided - yet again - to dip in. It’s a fun take on the Zelda franchise, if not terribly great. It’s still a musou game at heart, but enough content and fanservice to bring joy to Zelda fans.
