I never thought I would like a game where you just mash a button but I'm having a ball with this game. The graphics are great and there is a lot of action. Just fun to play.

    My favorite WiiU game, improved

To anyone saying this game has little differentiating it from the WiiU version, clearly not enough time was spent in either game to really see this is more than just a bump to 60fps with Legends characters. The most important improvement is that leveling and progression has been smoothed out and more streamlined. What this means is that you aren't spending tens of hours simply leveling your characters and farming materials. Things now come more naturally, and there aren't huge unnecessary difficulty walls later in Adventure Mode. This makes for an overall better experience with far less tedium and far more fun.

I LOVE THIS GAME WITH ALL MY HEART

I own the first copy of Hyrule Warriors that released in 2013 and when I first played it I instantly fell in love, given that I didn't know how to play and on the first stage I was in a terrified panic at not knowing how to defeat King Dodongo but now I bring him down as easily as cutting grass. Now when the Switch was released, sometime last summer I wished that they would make Hyrule Warriors for the Switch and boom, they somehow read my mind and made my wish come true! This version is just AMAZING and even better than the first. I absolutely love it. And Link is the love of my life ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Everything I loved about the Wii U version with added extras. Looks fantastic and is a much better portable option than Legends. Hours of fun ready to be had.

    Fun Warriors game

The game doesn't play like a typical Zelda game for those that aren't certain. It's a very fun game for those into the Warriors genre, has your favorite Zelda characters to choose from. My only gripe is the characters don't speak out their dialogue midbattle so it's easy to miss out but honestly that's expected seeing as most Zelda characters only grunt in the original games. For those wondering which to choose between this and Fire Emblem Warriors, the games play the same for the most part, go with the one that has your preferred characters.

This game is loaded with content. So many different characters to play as, level them up and so many levels. Graphics are great and all DLC included. The story's not bad either. A must have for any Zelda fan.

    Dynasty Warriors with Zelda skin

If you're a fan of the Musuo games, also known as Dynasty Warriors, then this is a fantastic choice. If you're ALSO a fan of Zelda games, then this is a love letter for you. There are so many characters, abilities, and inclusions from the Zelda franchise that it's nearly unbelievable! If you're just a fan of Zelda games but not the Musuo genre, then this is probably something you can pass on. I'm in this camp. The gameplay is straight out of a Dynasty Warriors title, which doesn't exactly spark joy for me, but all the animations are worth it whenever I'm in the mood. It's Zelda-fied enough for me to appreciate, even when it's not the kind of game I'd normally play. That's pretty impressive!

I absolutely LOVE this game. I spend over 200 hours playing it on my Wii U and now I've almost caught up with the switch version. This version includes all DLC as well as features that where once exclusive solely to the 3DS version. Adventure mode is where its at! Its also where you unlock the rest of the characters and weapons via challenges, which there are an abundance of and can also be quite challenging. Every character feels great to use(so many fan favorites). Give it a try. You won't regret it!

Hyrule Warriors on the switch runs better than it's Wii U counterpart. The enemies don't pose much of a challenge. The game can get repetitive but it's great to see a different take on the land of Hyrule.

I don't have a Wii-U when it the game first came, so I got the watered down version when it released on the 3DS. The graphics were horrible, everything was lacking detail, globs of color on the screen, but still playable. Now having played it on the Switch, it feels like a different game, at least visually. Everything looks beautiful, new, but familiar. There are still the same quirks that have always been a nuisance. There's a lag on mission updates as you complete them, so you have to keep checking the battle log to see where you need to go, who to save, and who to beat up. The story is mundane, but hey they needed something to tie all the characters together. Button mash away!

    Great Warriors Game

Be warned, this is not a standard "Legend of Zelda" game. This is based on the "Dynasty Warriors" franchise, a hack-and-slash style game that has characters mowing down hoards of enemies. The combination of Legend of Zelda with Warriors franchise works very well (though not as well as Fire Emblem Warriors) and it's a blast to take on thousands of enemies at once. The new features in the Switch version definitely make it a worth-while pick up even if you've already played this before on the Wii U (or 3DS).

If you like the gameplay of Dynasty Warriors, and have ever enjoyed a Legend of Zelda game, then you'll probably like this. The game is MASSIVE, and there's a ton to do and unlock (thanks to addition of the 3DS version's extra game mode). The core gameplay is simple but effective, and while it does eventually get repetitive, the large playable cast helps shake things up, and with all there is to do can give you a very, very large number of hours of gameplay.

the geniuses at Nintendo and Koei-Tecmo decided to bring us dynasty warriors but using the legend of Zelda worlds and characters and it is a great game. first landed with WiiU, which unfortunately not many people played it, it is now on the Switch and it is better. With less slowdowns and even sharper graphics, and the ability to play on the go, this is one quality title that no one should miss. The cpu does cheese and cheat in later levels but that's like most Nintendo games.

Great game if you like Zelda or Dynasty Warriors

As someone who was a big Zelda fan but not really into Dynasty Warriors, I was kind of skeptical of Hyrule Warriors for a while. A bit later, I tried someone else's copy of Fire Emblem Warriors for the Switch, and while I could see the potential in the style of gameplay, it was not enough to convince me to buy it. When a Switch port of Hyrule Warriors was announced, I decided to give it another shot, and the way it appealed to the Zelda fan in me was enough to convince me to go for it. Gameplay-wise, it is still Dynasty Warriors, but Hyrule Warriors tries hard to weave Zelda gameplay, items, lore, and other references in wherever it can. It will certainly not feel exactly like a Zelda game, but if you already kind of enjoy the Dynasty Warriors but are into Zelda, the Zelda content could be enough to make you enjoy the game as much as I do. Performance-wise, the game runs great while you are playing it (though, in some cases, at the cost of graphical fidelity). Oddly, frame rate stutters occur mostly during cutscenes—nothing new, if you played the Wii U version, but so far it looks like none of the stutters from the Wii U version have been fixed. Even so, those are fairly infrequent, and as I said, I have not experienced any lag issues during normal gameplay. In terms of the amount of content, I have no complaints. As the “Definitive Edition” title suggests, this game includes all the content from both the Wii U and 3DS versions of Hyrule Warriors and a bit more, including the main story, the original game's cast of great characters from across all the best Zelda games, extra characters from the 3DS version such as Linkle, an additional mode that lets you play levels inspired by the original Legend Of Zelda world map, and new skins for Link and Zelda based on The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild. All in all, even if the gameplay is still very Dynasty Warriors, they went all-out to make this feel like part of the Zelda universe.

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition is the ultimate version of an amazing game. Slightly better graphics than the Wii U (and much better than the 3DS), everything right there with the need for a download, Portable or big screen co-op play. And what a game it is. For all the button mashing and army fighting of a Musou/Warriors game, you still get a deep story and item interactions of a Zelda (with many fewer items, take that as you will).
