Perfect for Beginners Entering into PC Gaming

This computer is perfect for those who are more than content with not having to build their own PC, but are not looking to spend a fortune. After owning it for a few weeks, I feel that I have enough experience to give a fair review. I ordered this product while it was on sale for $899.99, which is an excellent price for what this PC can do. It has been able to run every game I have tried at a consistent 60+ fps on high/ultra graphic settings (Overwatch, PUBG, Fortnite). Since I bought this device primary for gaming I feel that I can be quite happy with these results. The PC has plenty of airflow and seems to have no problem keeping cool. The fan has only turned on a handful of times after gaming for several hours and while not silent, hasn't bothered me at all. It is quiet compared to others I have owned in the past. One thing to point out is that the graphics card is a 1060, it is not the best out there. However, I have found that this model is more than sufficient to meet all of my needs. If you are like me and do not care about having the absolute best frame rate at all times I am sure this will meet all of your gaming demands. Especially consider the other models can be quite expensive. Unless you are a professional streamer/gamer the 1060 can do the job. I am also happy with the room remaining inside the PC case, if you ever want to expand and add to this build you definitely can. This is a perfect starting point. Things to Keep in Mind: In this review I thought I would wrap up by mentioning a few things I found out on my own that would be worth a mention. Firstly, although the specs list a VGA port, it is not comparable with the graphics card ports. You will need an HDMI, DVI or DisplayPort output to connect to your monitor. This is not a big deal, however I had to make a quick run to the store while setting up since the cord I had for my monitor was VGA. Additionally, when you start installing programs be mindful of where you save them to. I found that they would automatically save to the SDD, which does not have much storage for big programs like games. Make sure to save programs such as those to the HDD. Lastly, when setting up the PC there seems to have been a poor packaging choice. Two large stickers were adhered directly to the computer itself that proved time-consuming to remove. If that type of thing bothers you make sure to have nail polish remover on hand to aid the process. Overall, I would highly recommend this product for those new to the PC gaming world who do not want to build their own PC, but want a high quality gaming experience without spending a ton of money.

About a week after my 21st birthday, I assembled enough parts for my old Lenovo Desktop to attempt saving it. After 6 years of usage from my favorite computer, the desktop suddenly stopped working and would not send any video signal to any monitor that I hooked it up to, no matter how much time I spent cleaning and looking at every individual part in my PC. Sadly, I returned all of the parts I bought from my previous purchases from around my birthday back to BestBuy in hopes that someone else could benefit from the parts that I could no longer use. After I made my product returns, I walked over to the Best Buy electronics department at the Melbourne, Florida store location on Evans Road. There, I stumbled upon the iBuypowerPC TRACE940 - 1060 desktop computer sitting behind the electronics department checkout area. I eventually left BestBuy purchasing the iBuypowerPC TRACE940 and an ASUS 24 inch monitor. Long story short, I have never been this satisfied from a computer as much as when I turned this rig on for the first initial time. This PC can handle every game that I play with precision 60 frames per second, HD quality, smooth graphics, and more wonderful attributes. Additionally, this PC boots INCREDIBLY fast from what I WAS accustomed to. As an additional bonus, I failed to realize that this PC actually came equipped with a generous amount of USB ports, video outputs for my monitor, audio outputs for my Logitech speaker system, and an amazing array of LIGHTS! This is the best computer that I have ever owned. Thank you iBuypowerPC!

    Best value for a prebuilt

I had never had a gaming PC before, just some basic PCs because i was never able to afford anything better. I decided i needed to bite the bullet and finally treat myself to a real computer. I tried finding parts to order and build my own gaming PC and to even match the specs of this PC with the same parts the price was already more than this pre-built. The value was the best out of any PC I could even find. The graphics card is a Geforce GTX1060 and it optimizes games very well and has its own interface for custom optimization. I went from getting 20fps (playing World of Warcraft) to 110 FPS on ultra graphics before even optimizing. This machine is a beast and even though wow can run on anything it cant run well but it does on this computer. World of warcraft can also be very CPU intensive because it is an older game engine. The Intel i7 is an amazing step up from a basic i5 processor and its an 8th gen which features the 6 cores instead of 4 from older generations commonly found on other PCs. It handles the game great and I'm sure it would handle any current game amazingly as well. I will Never looking back from this purchase, my games are a whole new experience now. There is also room for expansion in the case so this computer will last as long as I need it to since it can be built upon. Overall an amazing machine and completely worth purchasing.

    Exceptional Performance

I had purchased this product after having problems with the CyberPower PC AMD build. Oh did I regret not buying this Pre-build first. The power and speed of this computer is outstanding when considering this as an upgrade. Even if it only has 3gb of VRAM that is still plenty to give. I play plenty of games on high to max graphics. The only downfall I would think of is that it only comes with one case fan. Ventilation through this case is a big concern. There are plenty of case fan slots next to the motherboard, on the top part of the case and the front part. The front of the case easily snaps on and off for quick access and comes with 2 magnetic dust collectors inside the part where it snaps and on the top. There is another dust collector on the bottom back part of the case that slides out. I am extremely pleased with the current performance. This case definitely deserves attention and praise with its looks. The colors on the case definitely are pleasing to look at with several color options and brightness adjustments. There is a flash feature that rapidly changes the colors, a strobe that brightens and dims, a fade that slowly goes through the color cycles and a smooth that is just a slower version of flash. And plenty of space it has for upgrading options. There 3 more slots for SSD and 2 more with MDD. Overall I am pleased with this case and specs.

I bought this about 3 months ago and wanted to make sure I had some time with it before leaving a review. After 3 months, this computer still does not disappoint!! After my HP gaming computer bit the dust, I took time looking into gaming computers that would not only play future titles for a while, but would also allow me to upgrade components without being restricted to an HP motherboard and only allow certain upgrades. I decided on this IBuyPower and haven't looked back. So far everything I have thrown at it has ran smooth as butter and I couldn't be happier! Only complaint, which is very minor, is that there isn't an internal optical drive. But for the price of those, and how much I love this PC, I just purchased an external one. Not even a big deal to me. I have seen reviews complaining about the keyboard and mouse that came with it. I will tell you that for at least a week, I tested the keyboard that came with it instead of using my gaming keyboard and the keyboard was fine. I have zero complaints with mine. I did eventually hook my keyboard up, but I'm keeping the one that came with it as a backup. As for the mouse, I actually liked it, and am still using it, while my more expensive gaming one is collecting dust!! The one I received has been smooth for me and I've had zero problems with it as well. Yes, it doesn't have the programmable numbers on the side, but I still have not been bothered with it that much to change it to mine yet! Overall, I say that this has been a wonderful investment for me!! As a first time buyer of an IBuyPower machine, I will definitely look into buying more of their products in the future!!

Awesome computer for the price. I ended up buying a 500GB SSD for $100 bucks and installing it for more space. Only has 2 slots for RAM so it may even be worth buying another motherboard somewhere down the line. I run a small virtual network on the computer for practice and it holds it's own. I bought a nice curved Samsung monitor 4k screen 27". Has good color. Motherboard has a CMOS battery and runs UEFI. Capable of Secure Boot but it does not have TPM for BitLocker so extra settings need to be configured in order to encrypt and lock the drives. Also comes with a Wi-Fi USB Adapter capable of 802.11ac. It is not clear whether it is wave 2 or not but I assume it is not since there is no verification sticker from the Wi-FI Alliance. The memory sticks look old in style but they are DDR4 2400MHz which is like the middle ground of the best available. Nothing wrong with that. The CPU can be overclocked for better processor speed. A processor without any cooling will burn it self out in a few seconds. To overclock a processor without the appropriate cooling system will wear your processor out much sooner. Picture your gas tank when you keep your put the pedal to the floor. It works, it is just not a good idea. Overall I am a fan and I would recommend this computer. I am not a gamer so I do not have much to say if that is what you are looking for. Keyboard sucks and is not wireless however I have a specific taste when it comes to keyboards. The mouse is also not wireless but it is probably my most favorite mouse ever.

I bought my machine, An IBUYPOWER Trace-940 off best buy's website and had it delivered to the store- several of my friends who are system builders all agreed for the price I paid for it, I couldn't have built a comparable or a superior machine for a significantly lower price. that being said I also had advice from my friends on what to look for- and i researched myself for a couple weeks before buying it. and I've been very happy with the 940 since, its a perfect replacement to my 10 year old laptop and lets me do everything i used to be able to do and more including streaming games a hinged pannel would be a nice improvement over the screw on one, and also I'd like to see IBUYPOWER in the future offering this with RAZER or Cosair compatible RGB options however for the price i CANT really get to upset over it the system has been great so far the mouse that came with it i cant really speak to, its a basic mouse it felt decent, i swapped it out with my razer naga 2014 which has been serving me well, as for the keyboard well its taken me about a month to get used to typing on it and i still hate it however its a free keyboard, it works until you get something nicer.

Long story short, after attempting to build a computer from internet vendor (A) (bad parts...didn't want to keep sending stuff back until it worked), and then buying a different iBuypower system from internet vendor (N) (very poor build quality and it died after running well for one whole day), I decided to throw in the towel and do what my wife told me to do from the start. Just go to Best Buy and get one. I really didn't want to get another iBuypower because of the experience that I had just a few days prior, but in the end, I could not resist the parts and price point of this rig. I couldn't be more amazed by the difference in the two systems from the same company. The side panel on the first one didn't even close all of the way because of the poor cable routing inside, the video card was sitting at an odd angle inside of the case and looked and felt as if it would fall off if someone sneezed on it, and in addition to that, it also looked like the card itself was separating from the fans. The one that I bought at Best Buy is an absolute dream though. Great build quality, super fast at everything, and better than whisper quiet. If the lights weren't on, I would wonder if this thing was even running. My one complaint here would be that the case is enormous. I got over that pretty quickly though. I guess next time I will listen to wife right from the start and just go straight to Best Buy.

Pre Built Gaming In Its Prime

This PC is a solid machine. I picked it up for college and as an early graduation gift. Its meant to serve as an all around machine that can let me do everything, even if its marketed as a “gaming desktop”. I picked this up at 899 on sale. Pros: - Solid right out of package. No problems - Solid Mid Range Graphics Card - 8th Gen i7 Intel Processor helps run anything fluidly - Games run super nice at high/ultra settings. - RGB lighting is super cool and a nice touch -Sleek design with plenty of Ventilation - Super Quiet Cons: - Wireless adapter isn’t premium, but gets the job done - The graphics card installed in mine (GTX 1060) only had DVI ports, no hdmi - Solid State Drive is pretty small at 120 GB, the 1 TB storage is nice, but you need to know how to set up and direct installs there if need be, and may not be as fast as the SSD or run games as well. I’ve had no issues doing so. TIP!: Make sure to plug monitor into graphics card. The graphics card in mine only had dvi ports, so i had to buy an adapter. If you plug into the motherboard, you aren’t using the graphics card, only power from the cpu. Once I was wired into the graphics card, I was hitting above 90 frames on any game really. Arma III, PUBG, games run great. The Keyboard and mouse are acceptable as a bundle, but they aren’t premium. Useable? In my case yes, gaming was fine. Mouse is useable as well. Doesn’t take away from the purchase as a whole.

Was looking to upgrade my home PC to do media and gaming, while keeping the budget around $1000. Based on other reviews, I went with this model and it works great. I've used it with an Oculus Rift setup and had no issues. For a mid range computer with some upgrade potential (namely the GPU and RAM), I expect this to last me at least 3-4 years comfortably with minimal additional investment. Some of my PCMR gaming friends scoffed when I said I went and bought this instead of building my own and I laughed at how illogical that was, for the following reasons: - It was cheaper than individually ordering through a build-my-PC website - Less hassle - Arrived in less than 2 days, so less wait time - Was on sale and received additional rewards through the Best Buy shopper program, allowing me to get a new gaming monitor as well (and still cheaper than the build site) - Didn't have to assemble it So I'm missing some falsely-inflated "pride" that I didn't physically put together my own PC, even though it's less difficult than a Lego set these days to do especially with sites that hold your hand for your parts purchases. But I gained a gaming computer that does everything I want on a budget and performs quite well. I recommend it.

Excellent computer - some tips for you

Purchased this on sale for $899. I had canceled another computer I had ordered when I saw this one, as the specs were great for the price (I couldn't find better). The case is fantastic, very large, and everything functioned out of the box. Here are a few tips: 1. You will need to update windows and your video drivers immediately. This will take quite a while so be prepared. If you don't you will find things glitching and running slowly. 2. Once you've done that you'll notice a good chunk of your SSD is now occupied by Windows 10. Part of the issue is that Windows will hold on to the old version in a "windows.old" file for a month before deleting it. You can manually remove it which will help free up some space. A quick search on how to remove the file will bring up sites that show you what to do. It's very simple. However still be prepared to have windows take up 40+ gigs. 3. I researched the CPU prior to buying, and while it gets really good power and performance marks, the built in fan is slammed for being terrible at cooling. Since the stock fan is what it comes with, I'm most likely get a new heat sink/fan to ensure longevity. 4. Speaking of fans... there's only one case fan that is included, which is probably why it's so quiet. For a case this large I would have thought it would have included more. 5. In another review, someone complained about removing the sticker on the glass which thought it was kind of petty, until I tried removing it and agree it's a total PITA. Definitely remove it before attaching the glass panel. Overall the computer is great so far and purchasing through Best Buy was a breeze. Would definitely do again. Now I just need to upgrade my monitor.

If you're new to PC gaming like I am, I would start with this PC. I tried a different PC brand prior to this one even after hearing the Best Buy employees tell me they returned the PC I was about to buy for this TRACE940. Long story short, I should've just listened to them and saved myself some time. This PC is noticeably quick and can easily handle Fortnite (which I know most of you are playing) with Unlimited FPS. It's quiet and the RGB lighting with remote control is awesome. The only thing I've noticed with the lights is that on certain colors, it has a high pitch frequency sound which is annoying since it's on some of my favorite colors. Also, when I unboxed the PC and first launched Fortnite, I switched the in-game settings to Fullscreen and the settings changed but the whole screen went this weird, funny green color which was totally not normal but it only happened that one time so far so i am going to keep an eye on it. Also, the tempered glass on the case came scratched in a few places and with finger prints on it out of the box. I'll have to contact the company and see if they'll do anything about that or maybe I'll have to take it back. The glass doesn't affect the performance of the computer but it's still not right and should be new or close to perfect/clean out of the box for a $1,200 PC. I'll update my review to 5 stars if their customer service aims to please someone who purchased their expensive PC. Other than that, this PC is rocking. You should be more than pleased with it. I'll keep you updated!

Bought this today. My laptop was on lifesupport and had GeekSquad. They totaled it and gave me store credit. I knew about this gem the Trace940 because we just got one last month for our church. And I love it! Note these are put out by a custom company so no two are exactly the same. Mine has the Asus Prime mother board (so does the church pc) Mine has a seperate WiFi usb chip came in the bag (church pc has a wire zip tied to the frame inside and WiFi usb chip on the end) Mine has an Asus version Nvidia card with 2 HDMI, 2 other video ports and a DVi port [yes upto 5 monitors option] the church pc has a MSi card with 1 DVi, 1 HDMI, and 1 other video port [only 3 montor support] There is no way of knowing what card until you get it home and open it up. I can tell you it is well ventilated and there is mount holes up top for a second fan to be added just find a power source plug in. And a magnetic screen on top to filter dust. The lights are cool, remote to change color or strobe, flash, fade the colors. Mouse has a portion that color changes with the PC. Two step power up, flip the switch above the power cord on back then press the power button on top. Plenty of room for expansions as well. Two more spots for more hard drives to plug in, and 4 or 5 pci-e slots for a second graphics card or usb card etc... All in all you can't go wrong with this PC especially if you thought of building or having a custom rig built. And I alredy know the setup handles WoW, Overwatch, and Final Fantasy XIV online games with ease. Just pick up a external DVD or Blu-ray drive if you plan to install anything off a disc. This computer is a bargin and really powerful.

So I bought the pc during the 4th of July sales going on and was super excited, even got the luck of it coming a day early but the entire day I wasn't even able to use my pc due to: 1. Windows 10 wasn't installed right. 2. What I was told to fix it didn't even work by a tech which involved more money. 3. And I ended up fixing it myself by coding. So firstly I was stuck in a restart loop of "installation cannot continue" error and there for pc was useless. I called tech support and their solution was got buy usb cd drive to use the cd and fix it. I did that and it didn't work, I honestly at this point was burning a hole in my wallet and my temper but I looked up a few things and worked out the solution with the help of the internet and some coding. Finally was able to use my pc at 9pm when getting it at 8am. Shame really, the pc is lovely and is working wonders, it's my first gaming pc but the starting experience has me never wanting to go through this again. I hope I don't but at least I know the solution. Shame though I bought a cd drive for literally nothing. On to the positive of the review, the computer is fantastic and everything I could ask for as my first gaming pc. It's so snappy in the way it runs games, manages multitasking, and so on. Not to mention the mouse and keyboard are lovely with the lights of the pc. I'll defs be upgrading and continue to use this as long as I can!

I am impressed by the power and speed for the price. We are using this computer for production and presentation after our last tower couldn't keep up. This tower is lightning fast and runs anything I can throw at it. I am looking forward to using this for years to come. If you are looking for something that will run games/programs without being hit on the memory or CPU side - look no further than this computer because it will meet your expectations and surpass them! Pros: Value, SSD makes it boot lightning fast, quiet, fast transfer speeds, sharp looking, plenty of room for upgrading and expanding RAM/Hard Drives in the future, and more than adequate graphics for workstation and gaming. Cons: Only one that I would say is that it would be nice to have the SSD be at least a 256 Gb drive. This isn't con as much as a personal preference. I just relocated everything (most programs and all files) to the 1 Tb HHD so I don't bog the SSD down. I would totally recommend this computer to anyone who is going to be using it for a workstation, gaming, or home use. I will handle basically anything you can throw at it and still have more to give. Well worth the money and will be considering this when I need a new PC at home. *Will update as time goes on.

Solid PC, Great Value For Components

Bought this PC because my old one was really starting to lag behind when playing newer games. Going from an i5 4460 and a GTX 750 to this was a fantastic experience, I went to barely getting about 40 frames in Rainbow Six Siege on the lowest settings to 140+ with almost everything on high and it runs brand new games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 at 100+ frames with very slight tweaking. The value for the quality of the parts is pretty great, the case is very nice to look at with its tempered glass pane on the side and RGB lighting which you can control with a small remote that comes packaged with it. The tower itself is rather large though, it needs quite a bit of room for it to fit comfortably, so that is something to be aware of. There is some slight room for improvement, if you consider you could get an 8700k and the 6gb version of the 1060 for under $100 more than the 8700 and the 3gb 1060 that come packaged with the system but the overall value is good and the setup should stay capable of running any new game that comes out in the next few years at pretty high settings. As for the actual user experience, I've had no problems with it so far. The OS comes preinstalled on the SSD, so it starts up incredibly fast and I haven't run into any hiccups(crashes/errors) while using it. In summary, if you want a nice, solid PC that's decently powerful and is gonna stay that way for quite a while, this should definitely be one to consider.

Of course I could have built my own computer like I usually do but I wanted to try something new and for the price it was just what I needed. I still love to build computers but sometimes time gets in the way so if your looking for a gaming desktop and are not looking to overclock and your just getting your feet in the door with gaming computers this is a great product. It does not have an optical drive so I would recommend to just purchase an external they are cheap you will need one to load some of the utilities and drivers etc. It is not the K Series but the i7 8700 alone is still an amazing CPU and with the 1060 3 GB its really a great prebuilt computer. There are plenty of light patterns to choose from with a remote and fancy lights are not my style but I am starting to enjoy seeing it and there are plenty of people that enjoy the feature. It comes with everything you need to get started and with the SSD for your OS it boots very fast and 16 GB ram is plenty for me. No downsides so far and I am very satisfied with my purchase. So far I have played many games and have had no problems with any of them.

I’ve had it for almost a month now and it works great and as expected! It runs GTA V, PUBG, and Fortnite like a breeze, can’t wait to put it up to the test with new games. Only had a few problems - When I first set it up I used a DVI cable, and heads up for those getting this - do not use one, use an HDMI other wise it will be super laggy for demanding games like GTA V. Another was the space, the primary hard drive has only 100gb, but there is a secondary one with 1TB, it’s just an inconvenience to deal with at first. The problem I still have is the WiFi adapter usb by asus. Occasionally my WiFi will say it’s disconnected and not let me choose my WiFi while showing other networks nearby. The fix is just to simply unplug it and plug it back in. It happened frequently at first, and now happened once or twice a day, which is just a minor inconvience due to how simple it is to fix, hoping it’ll fix itself by being broke in. With this computer if you’re tight on space, I advise you leave room for the back of it to breathe, about a foot or so or else it’ll get really hot, and especially make it too hot in your room. Although if it’s too cold in your room this winter, it might not be such a bad thing lol Overall, great PC, fast start up time, runs smoothly, and I can’t wait to play these new games on it.

I play most of the big game titles out there such as CS:GO, Fortnite, PUBG, Wreckfest, ARK, and the list goes on and on. This PC was able to handle everything I threw at it surprisingly well. I had a few problems with Nvidia drivers for the first couple of days, but I figured it out with the troubleshooting skills I have developed over my 16 years of living. Another tip is to switch your main storage drive to your HDD since it has a lot more storage and you need room on your SSD for your OS (Windows 10) and other program files. Overall this computer was only $1,149 which is about $200 cheaper than the old Gaming laptop I purchased two years ago. This was definitely the upgrade I needed. Below are some Benchmarks I ran: CS:GO: 200-900FPS (Yes there is a large gap, but some tests I ran were on community servers) PUBG: 78-144 FPS on Mid-Ultra Settings Fortnite: 160-200+ (Hits around 1300 on the menus, not that this matters but its still a cool thing to know.) ARK Survival Evolved: 78-100+ (Pretty good since the game is pretty poorly optimized.) Upgrades: Case is more than sufficient for future upgrades, especially since the rumored GTX 1180 is releasing soon. To conclude If you have the money and are looking for a very good pre-built Gaming Desktop look no further and pick up the Trace 940.

It's a fine enough system although like many gaming rigs had problems out of the box. First, the keyboard died within hours of very light use. No problem; I preferred my own, anyway. Next, sound died after connecting two monitors, one via HDMI, the other via DVI. Neither IBUYPOWER or ASUS, the motherboard manufacturer, thought that was relevant. NVIDIA, the GPU maker, knew it was. So I exchanged it for a replacement, only connected one HDMI monitor, and have been fine ever since. Now, the mfr's note: feedbacks@ibuypower.com 3:26 AM (13 hours ago) to me Dear [intentionally omitted], Thank you for registering your system with iBUYPOWER. You have selected Amazon as your gift.
