Defective Out of the Box
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the desktop yesterday. Out the box, the machine is a beast. Once you get beyod the first impressions, a few things immediately popped up. First off, there is this "hum" that comes from, what I believe to be, the CPU fan/cooler. Then, as I was setting up the machine, the image they had loaded, prevented me as a local user and adminsitrator, to install any software. I had to reinstall Windows within the first 2 hours. I had both my ethernet and wifi set up for the machine. Worked okay for a while. When I uplugged the ethernet, reboot the machine, the wifi appeared to work for a minute, then it would go, then it would work, then it would go down. This was repetitive. When it did work, the speeds from the wii were subpar. I am literally 12 inches from the modem/router. I have super fast internet and the speeds were 1/5th the speed of my macbook, when they are side by side. This machine is absolutely going back. I wanted to give the machine a chance, but I am not going to play IT fixer on a machne I just purchased brand new. I was nice and gave it two stars.
