Nice to have, but not very strong.

Even when I'm fairly near it. From what I've heard, it's actually really hard to kill your PC with ESD. You could probably go building hundreds of PCs without this.

Cheap insurance against static damage

Needed this for replacing computer boards in my cnc milling machine. Static is a board killer. This wristband was cheap insurance against damaging boards that cost $250 each.
