This is a great took kit for anybody who needs to do a variety of electronics repairs and upgrades. All the important bits are included and the tools are all of excellent quality. Sometimes it's hard to find these bits and tools in your standard toolkits and especially for someone who's in and out of PC's a lot and also occasionally opening up controllers and phones it's nice to have a high quality dedicated kit for it. I know there are cheaper kits on Amazon but I trust the iFixit name and work enough to spend a little extra and it was it definitely worth it.

Haven’t run into an Apple product (or otherwise) that I haven’t been able to open up and work on yet. Works for all my iPhones, iPads, MacBook pros (2013, 3015, 2017), and the couple of Windows laptops I’ve got (HP and Lenovo). Has a ton of bits and even some I’ve never seen before. It says on the packaging that it can be used for working on appliances in addition to electronic devices but I don’t really have a use case for that - maybe that will change if I decide to get more into the IoT world. The price seems steep until you start looking at smaller toolkits and then you realize it’s actually a great value. Glad I purchased and will likely get use out of it for many years to come as long as I stay organized and don’t lose the pieces. Definitely recommend.

Held off on writing a review since I hadn’t been able to use the repair kit til earlier this week.
Very nicely organized, folds up into a nice neat/tight bundle for transportation, screwdriver and bits are quality. Magnetic plate for screws and other metal bits/bobs is large, thank God (anybody who’s popped open laptops or tablets, you know how many of these are crammed into those chassis).

Got myself one of these for work as a computer technician, it's got everything I need for repairing laptops, the screw-driver bits it comes with also have a lot of niche uses outside of technology repair. The reverse tweezers tip broke off, I contacted iFixit and they sent me a new one, no extra cost

I use this on everything not only does this help me with building and cleaning and fixing my PC but it also gives me tools to use on a daily basis this is one of the best purchases that you could buy. Your not just getting one thing for a specific thing but you're getting a multi usable product love it and will recommend it to all, i don't regret this decision if you have not bought one then you need to hurry to your nearest Best Buy and get one or even better yet order one through the website and have it shipped to you. You can also get it for a gift so if you know someone who is into gaming you could buy it for them as a gift they would absolutely love it.

I had one of these for several years and slowly lost or messed up pieces (typically doing careless stuff, like abusing the spudgers to pry non-electronics stuff and overestimating its rigidity). It has been so good I had no problem buying another when it was one sale and highly recommend this kit!
It makes electronics maintenance/repair a breeze! Having the magnetic pad and using the lid with its little grid to hold screws in separate spots is fantastic. The rotating end to make twisting the screwdriver easier is fantastic. It has most bits you could want or need for electronics repairs.
The kit is really well thought out and compact, I use it all the time. Especially nice because you can toss it in a bag or take with you easily, and it's not some janky SKIL one like Best Buy used to sell!
Buy it once and be happy, and even if you lose stuff and have to buy twice, buy twice and be satisfied!

A bit pricy but definitely an upgrade over other toolkits i have on hand for working with electronics. The magnetic driver is fairly good, but i do wish there was a rigid estension as well as the flexible one in the case.
All in all it is a really good kit with most of what i need for working on small parts.

A great computer/tech toolkit. One note - make sure you put things back when you complete your task. It's easy to lose these small pieces, but if you take the time to put them back as soon as possible - this kit will serve you well for many years.
I use all computers/laptops/tablets/phones. Everything you need in a complete small compact toolkit.

I use this all the time. If you tinker or repair your own electronics, just buy one (or something similar). The quality of the entire kit is excellent, no issues after months of constant use. I've even managed not to misplace any bits so far, which is a miracle for me.

A really great setup and quality and completeness is really hard to match.
Great functionally and a great diversity of chosen pieces.
Only real con is the price is steep for a smaller set (even though fully complete). If it was $10-$15 dollars cheaper it would be a mandatory buy. Still a great buy for those in need.

Had this kit for 2 years now and I have to say it has come in handy in a lot of situations. Everything from putting together a PC, changing out parts on an alarm clock and any work on small electronics.
Even fixed a rice cooker with this.
Good tool set for it's price and great for small electronics and appliances.

My only reason for giving this a four star, is because the non-magnetic drive is also the extension. I would preferred it the other way around, as the extension needs the magnet more than just the head of the driver having it. Also what makes it a problem is I don't like working around IC's with a magnet that can ruin the chips.
The quality of the build is superb bits sturdy, I don't feel like it'll break. A long with the warranty it comes with. The tools make it extremely helpful for not scratching and or breaking pieces that are fragile. It comes with a little magnet mat that you can set the screws on and they don't roll or slide. The box is well built. Keep in mind that these tools do have specialized parts to make it easier for you to fix things! I absolutely will be buying other products from them!

There are two groups of people. Those who really need this and those who don't. If you do any amount of tinkering or fixing small devices or laptops, this could really be a good idea. I used to work in hardware and TV repair and would have loved to have had this then.
Fixing small devices isn't just about unscrewing things. There is a lot of plastic and glass to work with as well, and there are tools included for just that. Maybe you can finally fix something without scratching and dinging it up! You'll get a ton of screwdriver bits, and over the years will find great glee when you encounter the corresponding screws out in the wild. Maybe a gift for the techy nephew you keep asking for hardware support?

This tool kit is the best one out there that you can get when it comes to electronics repair especially cell phones.
It has everything you will need with the exception of a heat gun.
They even provide you with a link to videos that show you step by step how to disassemble/assemble and repair most electronics which I thought is the bigger deal

Probably like you, you're looking at the Essentials toolkit. I bought this to upgrade/repair a couple mid-2012 MacBook Pros, and yes I could have gotten away with just the Essentials toolkit. However, having ALL the different tools and options at my disposal made the whole process a lot easier on me mentally. The little things like having 3 different tweezers and 2 different spudgers made me confident that I'll figure it out in the rare instances that things weren't going exactly to plan. That variety also helps put me at ease knowing I can handle basically all the iFixit repair guides (in the future) because I have the tools. Plus, I figure if I get into more projects down the road, I may end up investing in the Pro Tech toolkit anyways, so I may as well just do it now.
Also, while its possible to get a comparable toolkit for less, I would argue that you can't get a better, all-in-one toolkit for under $100 than this one. It's got really everything you would need if you're in the market for something like this and EVERY piece feels like quality. Consistently. That's something I appreciate every time I open the toolkit.
If all that isn't enough, just consider iFixit's lifetime warranty.
For me, this all came together to make the investment in the Pro Tech toolkit worth it not only in the short term, but going forward.

This toolkit is a pc owners must-buy. It has 90% of what you will ever need to repair a device or just upgrade something. Featuring 64 precision bits, don't get caught without the correct bit ever again. I've used this kit for everything..from replacing batteries to modding my Nintendo Switch. All the little plastic instruments are so helpful in ensuring you don't damage your device as you take it apart. I am always so surprised how much they packed into the case whenever I open it up.
Overall, it is a high quality tool set that EVER computer should have

Perfect Kit if you do not have any tools for repairing small items like a controller with stick drift or fixing things like your graphic card and other small things. You may not have a need for all the small bits but there will be a time where you will need it and it will be so random when you do
