This is the perfect apartment size fridge...look no further....Small is the way to go today, especially if you are looking to cut down on your electric bill....It's perfect for a couple, college kids, single person, second fridge.....This is tall, slim and has lots of shelving inside and a veggie and fruit drawer..Comes with an egg accessory to hold your eggs on the door shelves, which you can place anywhere on the door...The shelves are all made of glass, but not the door shelves, its sturdy to hold plenty of food and beverages...The freezer part works fast as soon as you plug it in, has a bottom area for storage and a shelf....The height is as high as the average 5 9' person and the width is half the size of a large fridge...I just love it , it is exactly what I was looking for...I have been looking for a used fridge since I could not afford the average price....When I first saw this Igloo it was at full price...Then I went back after Christmas and it was ON SALE HALF OFF just waiting for me!! ahhhh....The regular price was $400, which I would not pay if I could....Now will list the down side to the fridge.... DOES NOT GET COLD ENOUGH IN THE FRIDGE PART...IF YOU MOVE THE SETTINGS UP THE FRIDGE WALLS WILL FREEZE..THEY TELL YOU TO KEEP IT ON 3 SINCE THATS HOW IT COMES SET...HOWEVER, I NOW HAVE IT ON JUST PASSED 4 BUT WILL NEED TO MOVE IT UP AGAIN.....YOU HAVE TO DEFROST THE FREEZER YOURSELF, I JUST BOUGHT IT AND ALREADY SEE FROST BUILDING-PLUS I LIVE IN FLORIDA SO ITS WORKING HARDER....THE SIZE OF IT IS NOT FOR A FAMILY OF 5 ESPECIALLY IF YOU NEED TO FREEZE THINGS,NOT ENOUGH ROOM FOR ALOT OF FOOD IN THE FREEZER.....AND...IF YOU NEED TO STORE ALOT OF FOOD IN THE FRIDGE PART, IT WILL NOT GET COLD ENOUGH...SO THAT IS BAD FOR ANY KIND OF MEATS.....OTHERWISE A GOOD LITTLE FRIDGE TO HAVE....I HOPE IT LASTS.....STAY TUNED....

Slim and quiet, but defrosts the old-fashioned way

This refrigerator was one of a precious few that was small enough to fit into our tiny, closet-like kitchen. We were glad to find it, but here's the fine print: you have to defrost the freezer the old-fashioned way, by opening the door and letting it thaw. No big deal, as the freezer doesn't hold much. But it frosts up fast in warm weather, or if the floor isn't absolutely level. On two occasions the plastic shelving inside the door has crashed down, eggs and all, so care must be taken not to overload. The motor's hum is not loud in the least, and it has a tall, clean look. We've only had it a few weeks, so time will tell if it holds up.

I bought this solely as a 2nd refrigerator to keep drinks cool out in the garage. For that purpose alone, this refrigerator fulfills all of my requirements. It's small, easy to move around, and keeps my drinks at a decent temperature. It also is energy-star compliant, so it should only cost me about $35/year to operate. For the price I paid and for the purpose it serves, this is a very good buy. If you are looking to use this as a primary refrigerator inside the house, I would say you may be disappointed. It's a little loud (not an issue for us as it is in the garage), and it frosts up quite quickly. Some of the back wall of my refrigerator is covered in ice, but it is the summer now and is quite humid, so maybe this will subside in the winter. If you can find this on sale, and if you want a low-cost to purchase and low-cost to operate refrigerator, then this will fit your needs nicely.

First fridge I brought home had dents on it and scratches with touch up paint on it. It was not an open box item I ordered it from website and picked up at store. which means that the manufacturer knew there was scratches on it and tried to hide them with touch up paint. Took item back to best buy and they ordered a replacement, but didn't offer anything else besides just replacing item. Replacement functions properly keeps products cold, no frills and light is blocked when fridge is stocked. new fridge door did not seal down one whole side when i moved door handles. was about a 1/4 gap was able to add some seal tape to fill the gap and make a good seal. makes a good bar fridge if you can get it on sale would not buy it for a primary fridge!

There is nothing really wrong with this fridge. I had it for about one month and works fine. The construction of the fridge, however, is not very strong. The thermostat is not very accurate and the fridge seems to turn on and off randomly. After reading all the poor reviews I decided to take the 5 year protection plan, just in case. At least they will come to your house to repair it. The shipping costs are higher than the value of the fridge. I have not experienced any significant ice build up in the freezer or the rest of the refrigerator. May be it is because I keep it at a very low setting, ( not too cold). This is the perfect second fridge. I would gladly spend more for a better quality unit but I could not find any of that size.

I got this for my garage to mainly hold soft drinks, beer and extra frozen food. It works fine but is less than ideal. The freezer is tiny but works fine. It holds a good number of flat items. The refrigerator part is the larger problem. I was concerned at first because even though the dial setting goes to 6, the manual recommends a 3 in summer and a 1 in winter. And when I put the setting to 4, the back of the refrige gets full of ice; I doubt it even gets cold to a 6. Beverages get cool, but I still need ice to make them really cold. It's good for storage but I'd never use this product as a main unit.

    Worth it, but barely

Reversing the door is possible, but just barely. The holes do not line up correctly but with enough effort you can get it to work (it comes opening on the left, hinge on the right). The shelves on the door are pretty much useless, the lip is too short to keep anything tall from falling over: soda, water, ketchup, etc. all fall over every time you swing the door. The manual is in a hilarious form of English known as thrice re-translated. Not that you need a manual for a fridge, but it's a fun read. This is the only model we could find in the size we wanted that was low priced. it was around $200, though it may have been on sale. It does seem to keep things cold which is pretty much what counts.

Bought this since it was on sale for $200 and comparable sized fridges from other brands was double the price. Fridge does what it needs to do, but doesn't self defrost which is a little annoying. First one came with a door that wouldn't shut, so refused it and got a replacement. Replacement has been working fine, but you can tell the quality is what you pay for. I keep this in the garage as a drink and extra space fridge, so I didn't need something of great quality, but if you need something for more primary use, spend the money for a better one.

Ok so we've had this unit for a few months now. I can safely say this is not a great fridge but it does work. The problems we've encountered are ice build up on the back wall in the fridge,as well as having to adjust the temperature depending on how loaded the fridge is and a slightly louder humming noise when running. We use this as our main fridge in a small apartment. Overall it does the job and for the price it's not too bad. We plan to use it as a pop fridge once we upgrade. I'd say we got our moneys worth but will have to defrost the fridge portion eventually. Ours is 6 months old.

    Be careful: Height is Incorrect!

I bought this for a kitchenette that had specific limitations on the height. The height given under the Specifications is 63 1/2 in --- THIS IS NOT CORRECT! It is at LEAST 65 1/2 because of this approx. 2 1/2 in plastic header screwed on top. I was able to remove the header, but I still had to cut about half inch off the front of my cabinet (which was at a 64 in height) to get it to fit. I do not know at this point whether I will have overheating issues at some point, though I have left extra room at the back of the unit for extra ventilation.

Be sure to get the extended warranty. This thing feels unpredictable. We are exchanging it , for the same model, because frost is forming on the back wall of the fridge. Seems to work OK otherwise. Would not purchase for a main refrigerator. Does not appear to be much support from manufacturer, whoever that is...it's not really Igloo. Geek Squad warranty helps but getting things done at Best Buy just seems so hard sometimes.

refrigerator is much taller than you might expect

    Posted
    Keith

I have no idea why the only information given on the website about the height of the refrigerator is "Height to top of door hinge (in.) 63 1/2." The only height dimension that matters to anyone is the total height of the entire unit, which is over 65 inches. Because it was considerably taller than I was expecting I had to return it, because there is no way it would fit under my kitchen cabinets.

For the price it is a good unit. The freezer has no seperate control for the temp. The control is in the lower unit and adjusts both compartments. It is using the coils to cool and not air flow. Mine is out in the garage for now as a spare unit and I see a lot of condensation building up inside. The freezer after a month has ice building up and will need defrosted in a few months.

Bought this for my cottage, will be used seasonally only. I like that is has a freezer compartment, compact size, and the price was great! I have not unpacked it yet ( waiting for vacation season to open up the cottage). Once set up it will be stocked with cold drinks & food in the frig, and ice cubes & pizzas in the freezer.

Have this box for approxilmately 2-3 weeks and it doesn't appear to get very cold. If I adjust the temperature, the back wall of the refrigerator freezes up? I am still trying to work with it, but I may be forced to return it if it doesn't do what I bought it to do: Refrigerate my food at the appropriate temperature!

This refrigerator was purchased to replace our beverage cooler. The size and price are great and the exterior appearance is nice. When we plugged the unit in and turned it on, the interior immediately developed a layer of frost and ice that is very disappointing.

This is good drink fridge for money. You will need to turn the temp dial to its coldest. It's a little loud. Feels a little cheap. But like I said its good for what you actually paid for. It's a little loud and will need to be defrosted from time to time.

Mine had damage at the frame noticed when trying to switch door opening which is poorly designed. Door gaskets continue to leak even after multiple stretching etc. I'm not impressed with packaging after finding concealed damage. Cheap door mounting screws strip easily!

The light bulb burnt out post 3 days of getting it. In the book it says to replace with 10w/115w. No such animal out there so replaced with an ordinary night light bulb and it works fine. Actually brighter than the original bulb.
