Please hold-off on the return. Please give us the opportunity to help you troubleshoot.
I suspect that a power surge may have disrupted the unit’s microprocessor. This is not an uncommon occurrence with consumer electronics. The good news is that the microprocessor can often be rebooted.
Insert a paperclip or similar into the Reset port located on the back of the unit for a few seconds. This action will Reset the product back to factory specifications.

Android application is not maintained with proper updates. Sound is good, not that much great base. Good battery backup. Funky lights are not sync with music.
