Illy is a major supplier of coffee. So it would be natural for this company to come up with a coffee/expresso maker. That is why you have the illy Y3.2 single serve coffee maker - a pod based coffee maker. Before sharing my review, here are some things to consider. First, I have other expresso machines - specifically the Nespresso and the Jura super automatic (the Nespresso is a pod machine similar to the illy). Compared with these machines, the illy falls woefully short.
This machine takes a long time to heat up before dispensing its coffee. Second, it is a messy machine. Where the machine is located, you can see coffee splatters everywhere. Third, the machine suffers from design flaws. For example, unless you left up the top quickly, the pod extractor fails to work. Finally, there is the coffee itself. Compared to a cup of coffee made with the Nespresso machine, which is flavorful, rich, and with a great creme, the illy is weak, not bitter (thankfully), and with almost no creme (the coffee was made with bottled water - so don't blame the water).
Overall, a disappointment. You are better served by buying the Nespresso!
