Worth the wait!

Seems like the deceloper put some pretty staunch safeguards into the AI, as i cant get it to do or say anything naughty or dangerous (which is what i was most worried about). Hologram is really slick. Kids love it.

The characters would “talk” with no audio. It was the only device in the house that couldn’t keep a connection to the WiFi. The system is so slow I thought it may have gotten stuck since it did actually get stuck and I had to reset it multiple times. The idea is cool but it just wasn’t done right.

He is kind of hard to buy for but this AI product was perfect. He is the only boy with 4 sisters so now he has a male friend to interact with and tell jokes and read with him.

The hologram is such a wow factor every time we have people over, they’re amazed by it. But it’s not just for show, it’s actually helped my daughter with her spelling and math in a way that doesn’t feel like a chore. We didn't have a single tech issue or bug. It’s just a really well thought out, magical feeling device. If you're looking for something that’ll actually get them off the iPad, this is it.

He was bored with it in less than 10 min id say. It couldnt tell me the temperature outside either. Failed at several simple questions. Glitchy when speaking amd overall rather creepy tone of voice tbh. When tried to use a 2nd time it was no longer functioning . Only audio the character wouldnt form in the globe. Tried troubleshooting to no avail. Son was very upset as this was his SPECIAL gift from santa and im a single father with custody of my son. Im very disappointed overall and feel like i let my son down this year for xmas.

It was super frustrating, but it turns out their servers just got slammed because of the holiday rush. I reached out to support and they told me to try again the next day once everything is settled down. Sure enough, it connected instantly and has been solid ever since. Seeing my son’s face when Ember finally popped up was worth the headache. If you hit a snag during a big holiday, just give it a day. It’s worth the waitttt!

She was hyped up to play with but we had to wait a long time to get it set up for her to use it which is standard for electronics now. The bad part is that it was never resposive enough. My daughter became frustrated with it after trying for a week. I hope some updates have improved its functionality but as it stood, we decided to return it.

Wasted hours trying to set this up

WiFi Issues: It refuses to connect if you have a Mesh system (like Netgear Orbi) that combines 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. I had to create a special IoT network just to get it online. Software Glitches: Once connected, it got stuck in an infinite update loop. I tried twice (once letting it sit for hours), but it never completed the update. It’s a shame because the hardware looks fun, but the software is completely broken.

Mesh Wi-Fi systems: Imagix does work with modern mesh systems, including Netgear Orbi and similar setups. We’ve tested extensively on current firmware. In some home networks, initial setup can be more reliable when the device temporarily connects to a 2.4 GHz IoT network, but this is not a permanent requirement and not unique to Imagi.
Update loop: The behavior you described sounds like an update issue that affected a small number of users earlier on. That has since been fixed with platform and firmware improvements, and new setups should no longer encounter this loop.

I was worried we’d have to deal with the hassle of a return, so I messaged their support and asked to return the item, I don't know how but they were able to fix the mic remotely. Turned out I didn't need to ship it back. Now it works like a charm and he’s been having conversations with his dragon all morning. It’s rare to see a company actually fix a bug that fast without making you jump through hoops.

It is not a smart toy. An Alexa has way more functions, games, and music. The toy could not hear us 8 out of 10 times. It wouldn’t connect to the internet 9 out of 10 rimes. It is not reliablely functional. It doesn’t even complete its basic functions because it can’t hear and jt can’t connect to the internet. I am returning this.
