Even though its an old movie - the 4K release does this movie justice. I'm not sure how it compares to a Bluray release...but my last time watching this was either on network TV or VHS...the improvement was obvious.

Had this movie in the original format. Decided to upgrade because the price was right. Always good watch especially on July 4th. Even better in 4K.

One of my all time favorite movies from the 90s. If you own an OLED, 4K Player, and surround sound, you owe it to yourself to get ID4.

The movie is very entertaining. I usually don't double-dip (I have the earlier blu-ray). But, then read about the audio & video improvements and so purchased it. It is true! There are definitely improvements in audio & video

This is a great movie to own on 4k format with a nice home cinema system in place.

Give me any great doomsday movie and I'll watch it a million times! Given ID4 was made in the 90's, the city destruction audio and visuals are outstanding. This is one movie that I always use to test out my home-theater sound system.

Always enjoyed this movie. Not a big fan of Will Smith, still remember the commercial during the Super Bowl.

This feature stands the test of time and was just as enjoyable on my second viewing. The CGI effects weren't horribly outdated by current standards [but then I still find the original "Day the Earth Stood Still" special effects just fine] and still worked. The likable cast served up a rousing tale of a repelled space invasion with an uplifting ending!

Was looking through movies at my local Best Buy and came across this gem. Also includes the special edition with added scenes, which was the selling point for me. Can't beat the price for this classic!

BIG deal when this came out in '96--very successful, very talked-about, very influential. Class sci-fi disaster blockbuster. Great cast. Story does borrow from "War of the Worlds" a little shamelessly, but that's the only real flaw.

I remember seeing this in the theaters and how much I felt it borrowed from the V miniseries of the early '80s. Beyond that, it did cover new ground after that and was probably the project that elevated Smith to that next echelon in the movie business. Has a great cast that was probably underused. Not a perfect film, but satisfying.

Ever since I saw this movie when I was little I LOVED IT! so naturally when i see its $4 I HAD TO BUY IT! They just came out the second one this year or this past year,,,but i love the first one because its so amazingggg!

Like this movie needs another review. It was a huge box office smash and has sold hundreds of thousands of copies on everything from VHS to Blu-Ray. If you have not seen Independence Day you must be living under a rock.

For those of you with Atmos Audio Systems in you Home Theater this is the Disc to have. The UHD Picture is Fantastic! but the Atmos Audio is Out Of This World!! Get It - HaHa

This was one of the best science fiction movie enjoyed during my school days.. Watched it in theaters during school days After 20 years, I am now super happy to watch the same in my new Samsung tv..

I already have this movie in all it's formats, just had to snag this one for it's awesome steelbook!!! This popcorn movie is epic goodness in its genre!!!

This is one of the best action SYFY movie I have seen. I lovely so much, I bought it in 4K. The picture is amazing. Will Smith is the man, he made this, and the rest of the cast, a very enjoyable movie.

Loved watching this movie on blu-ray! Action scenes were great looking in hi-def picture with DTS audio! Will Smith was great in this flick,as one of the leads with a pretty good performance by the quirky Randy Quaid! Highly recommend!
