One of the best alien invasion films of all time. The premise of “ strip mining” our planet’s natural resources is realistic given our own history. Within that context, the aliens “nothing personal, just business” attitude is refreshingly different from the inherently evil motivation often used in science fiction. The characterizations of the lead actors and actresses are just wonderful. Particularly those and the interactions between the two principals, Will SMith and Jeff Goldblum. The supporting roles are just as well done. And Industrial Light and Magic’s special effects are very, very good. However and equally important, the script skillfully using very recognizable tropes of “liberty or death” and “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” add very powerfully to the emotional impact. The multiple love stories woven into the context don’t hurt anything either. Not to mention the material added into this extended edition. “Independence Day” earns its longevity; originally made in 1996.

Will Smith, explosions, armies and aliens. What more could someone ask for? Practical effects make it so, the movie still looks great in HD today.

Bought this steelbook to hold the 4k version of this all time favorite. Nice all around steelbook and when you open it (BAM!) that 4k is in there!!!

I love this movie and with it being in 4k just makes it even better. The quality is awesome and looks better than it did in the theater. I'm so happy!

Fun, cheesy action comedy sci fi film. Hard to watch Will Smith anymore, but you can still enjoy this one.

Independence Day is a Great movie.I was on the seat of my pants!Action packed thriller.This movie has wonderful graphics in HD.I was totally awed.

Very nice upgrade of an all time favorite especially the soundtrack. If you haven't added this version yet, do so, you won't be disappointed.

This steelbook release of Independence Day is a great edition to any fans collection. It also came at a really great price as well.

A classic, one of my favorites! It was a no brained to pick up a 4K copy, I’ve seen it a dozen times and I’m sure a dozen more in the future

This movie felt fresh in stunning 4k. The picture looked like this movie was just released, and not 23 years old. My kids loved it.

Cant believe how well this has held up over the years. Still such a great movie and now even better in 4K. Well worth the buy!

I bought the 4k movie to compare it with a blu-ray. I was not disappointed. The movie has a good story plus is visually stunning.

Excitement, action, wit, and humor throughout the movie. Fly boys along with the "President" kicked some alien booty! Loved it!

This movie was great when it came out but to see it in 4k & updated sound was incredible. Also forgot how funny this movie was.
