I really didn't know what shredder I wanted to get, but thanks to all these people who wrote their reviews, I went with this one. I just needed this for general use and personal mail. I really like the durability of this product. Once I carried the shredder, I knew by the weight it was a sturdy one. I took it out and was able to use within a minute. I tested out 7 papers and a cd and it chugged it up like a college student with a beer. I think this is a great product for its price and reliability.

We used this for a year or so, it was well worth the price. We shredded way more than 10 pages at a time, shredded credit cards, CDs, staples, and rarely oiled it. Then we used the paper shreds for our hamster cage. It never gave us any trouble except when we put (way) too many papers in it and jammed it. It finally gave out yesterday. The downfall of it (and I'm certain many other cheap shredders) are the plastic gears turned by the motor. It finally stripped. If I could find a set of gears, I'd replce them. I did that for my garage door opener. I'd definitely buy another one. If you want to maximize longevity, only shred a few pages at a time.

we were doing a little spring cleaning and had a lot of built up old bills and documents that couldnt just be tossed in the trash for wondering eyes. did some research and the Init shredder appeared like a decent choice. spent about 4 hrs shredding and had no problems. Did start to jam once, but thats because my young one tried to jam too many papers in at once and i hit the reverse and corrected it with no problems. from the research i did, i don't think you'll find a better small at home shredder at a better price. i just wish i caught this one on sale. very satisfied with it overall.

The Init Crosscut Shredder came out of the box easily. Assembly was a breeze. Then, I started to shred about a thousand old returned checks. It kept going and kept going until the whole pile of checks was completely shredded. No overheating and no clogging even when I put in 6 or 8 checks at a time. My previous shredder would clog up if I put in more than 3 checks at a time. Then, after shreding about 50 or 75 it would go into overheat mode.

This machine shreds into confettii. I love it! No more worries! The only down falls are that it is a bit louder than the last one I had, and when I go to empty it out...I take the top off and set it on the floor ,dump ,put top back on and there is a mess left on the floor. Other than that it works beautifully! I am VERY HAPPY with this purchase!

We've owned several different shredders so far and this one performs just as good as the previous Fellowes and other shredders. The big bonus for us is that this one shreds CD/DVD discs as I make data backups frequently and used to have to manually break the old discs. Some reviews stated that this shredder was very noisy, but honestly what shredder isn't? The auto-on feature works great too.

I Shopped around a lot for a good shredder at a good price. After finding this one for 39.99 I must say I definitely made the right choice! It shreds everything, and I haven't had it jam once yet. Also it is very easy to empty and even has a clear spot so you can see when its full.

Have been looking for a shredder for a while, this one had great reviews and I can see why! Work's great, easy to use! A little loud, but no more than a vacuum cleaner. Very satisfied with my purchase. Worth the money over the cheap ones. You get what you expect a shredder to do.

Before i bought this shredder i read all the reviews majority said very good so i went with the majority. i am very satisfied with my purchase.however if u have alot of paper to shredd youll need lots of garbage bags. it fulls very quickly. Its just right for home not business. maybe for a small personal office. My son helped me and he jamed it with a piece of thick closed mail. My boyfriend was able to unjam it i kept it still happy. So take your time not to exceed the amount of paper.If you have a little helper very protective shredder.

Used twice so far. I haven't shredded a cd yet. I like the fact that it shredds important documents that makes it hard for someone to put back together. I wish the opening was a little wider. I wish it was less noisy. The price was a bit to much after taxes and shipping charges. I haven't tried it for a long period of time.

Bought this shredder to replace one that gave out. You can shred up to 10 sheets but it does slow down as you add more sheets. Works better if you limit to 5or 6 sheets. Chews up staples without proplem. Good size receiving basket. Overall it was a good value purchase.

I needed to replace a relatively inexpensive "store brand" crosscut shredder. It lasted 3 or 4 years, but the plastic/metal blade was done in by shredding labels with adhesive on the back. Never again!! I checked shredder reviews on a dozen sites, store and national brands. Couldn't find one under $130 with a rating of more than 2 out of 5, except this one. Even the models up to $300 were only rated 3 or 4. All the reviews, even for this shredder, has at least a few that said they broke immediately, wouldn't shred more than a couple of sheets, or stopped working after just a short time, but I guess any product will always have some of those, and people are more likely to report a bad experience than a good one. Fortunately, I got a "good" one. Have had it about two months and its been in constant use, since I was without one for about three months and had saved up a lot of stuff. It works great, has shredded everything I've fed it, and NO JAMS so far...unusual for any shredder I've ever owned. I'm cleaning out old files and some days have shredded a huge amount of stuff with no problems. I haven't tried any CD's yet, but fed it some old credit cards and it did them easily, unlike my old machine that always struggled with them. Works great, shreds fast and does multiple sheets or heavy paper with no problem. Motor is relatively quiet and the bin is larger than the ones that come with most inexpensive models. The built-in handle on the shredding head/motor is a nice touch, since they're pretty heavy and awkward to pick up.

I operate a small business from my home and so I use my shredder daily. You might say I use and abuse. The Init has out performed all of the other shredders I have owned and it was VERY reasonably priced. It is so easy to handle, when it is time to empty and I like the fact that if you pick it up off the wastebasket it warns you if you have forgotten to turn it off. My only suggestion would be to put it on wheels.

I've had this shredder for a few of weeks and so far its been excellent. It's a bit noisy, but all of them are. Does the job and that's exactly what it's supposed to do. Very happy with my purchase.

I purchased this shredder to replace an old one that finally stopped working. This is a great little workhorse. It eats through pages of documents at a time, staples and all. It also really does handle credit cards with ease (no more clipping up with scissors!). It's even chewed through whole envelopes of credit card offers (only tried those without a plastic card or magnet inside). I've used it for up to a half hour at a time, with no signs of overheating. This little machine gets the job done.

I was surprised at how heavy it was. I did a lot of researching across various sites when I started looking for a shredder. I use it at home for junk mail and the like. It has metal teeth and it's very solid feeling all around. I was surprised to find that while it does cross shred it's not confetti it into squares but rather longer strips about an inch long. Also it has a safety deal on it so that you can't get your finger or anything for that matter close to the blades but it makes it slightly more difficult to feed paper into it. I'm only talking a few more seconds. I mostly notice it when trying to feed a tri folded piece of mail that I've unfolded; the paper will bend at the folds because it's not strong enough to push through the safety thing, so you have to hold it with both hands to get it started. No big deal, just noticed it b/c the one at my office is commercial and you can drop just about anything in it and it'll take it. Just shredded my first credit card last night and it did it no sweat. The container is on the smaller side but most of them are and for personal use it's plenty. It's just about right to fit a paper grocery bad in it to catch the shreddings so I can put them in recycling. It is kind of loud but I'm pretty sure they all are and it's definitely quieter than others that I've encountered.

I spent all day cleaning up the office and shredding years worth of paper from the filing cabinet. All the shredder claims are true. It slows down when shredding 10 sheets of paper but always finishes up. I also shredded complete letters. This works great for a home office. I never had anything jam either. I had this thing running non stop for a long time so it's well tested.

So far the shredder works great. A good value for the price, it does a great job shredding through multiple sheets, although it does work a little harder when you get up to the limit (10 sheets at a time)

We had 4 file cabinets filled with papers that I needed to shred and our old shredder died. This one had good reviews and so far, so good. I didn't rate it well on reliability because I haven't had it long enough to detemine that. Our old Royal shredder would overheat after about 10 minutes of heavy use. This one just keeps going without overheating. I was able to shred hundreds of papers, if not thousands, and wound up with three medium bags filled with shredded papers . It didn't fail me once.

my husband just bought me this shreder for home use and is great easy to use.... and is affordable u cant complain about the price bcuz u getting something the works ... I WILL RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT ....
