Customers are delighted by the 10-sheet Crosscut Paper Shredder's impressive shredding capacity, ease of use, and performance. after much comparison shopping on-line, I was drawn to this shredder from other happy customers. The price was good for the product and the product did not let me down. It is a little workhorse and is great for home use. I did not shred any cds so cannot give an opinion on that.

My wife and I picked up this shredder the same day we got our vacuum (also reviewed). It does a good job of shredding papers and documents. The only issue i have is when you shred between 5-8 sheets. The sound really ramps up and I'm afraid it will overwork and break? So far no actual issues, just the noise.

6 months later and not one jam!

I bought this shredder 6 months ago and have used it on a weekly basis, including to shred several document CD's and DVD's. I have not had one jam and it works exactly as advertised.
Compared to other shredders in the $70-$120 range this is the best option.
As with all shredders be sure to properly maintain it and follow the instructions.

I haven't had this shredder for very long but it does everything I have asked it to do easily. It works very smoothly. Also the booklet that came with it gave some really good tips on how to keep your shredder running great like don't shred envelopes because there glue gums up the cutters. I didn't realize that. So far so good with this shredder.

VERY SATISFIED WITH THIS SHREDER

The product features a cross cut and is very efficient. It shreds documents that are folded; even my junk mail goes right through without opening. The shredder even can shred CD’s and credit cards.
It keeps running smooth and operates easily.
The only problem I have is that when I empty the shreds the little shreds go everywhere because some stay stuck to the bottom of the shredder. Easy quick clean up and I am finished.
I had a shredder a long time ago, when they used to be ALL reasonably priced, but now it seems because there is a demand for them, some shredders even go for more than what I am willing to pay for them. This product was on sale and was almost even too much for me to pay when it was on sale. But, I am glad I decided on this product though. It is worth every penny.
This product is great and would recommend it for personal use.

Haven't had the shredder very long but so far it works great. Doesn't heat up and seems to be very well built. I like the handle on the shredder head itself. Very handy. Only complaint is its a little loud but that's not a big deal for me.

My wife had finally been fed up with all my paper bills and important Documents that I have been saving and keeping over the years(almost 5yrs to be exact). So it was time for me to get a shredder, I headed to Best Buy and purchased this Shredder, It was the cheapest one on stock that day so figured why not. When I got home I was over whelmed with all these bags and containers of paper. I really thought this shredder will definitely jam or over heat before the day was done. After 5hrs. of shredding It did not jam or over heat it held up like a CHAMP Great product for the price and Highly Recommended.

I am very pleased with this product. This is a great value at the regular price, and even better if on sale. I did alot of research and this is one of the few shredders have found that is very highly rated by consumers. Has a good warranty, and gets the job done.
That said, this is not an industrial shredder. Do not expect to put 10 sheets in this at once. I know it says 10 but shredders across the board are rated on the number of sheets of light paper they can take. Regular office paper is much heavier so expect to do 3 or max 4 sheets at a time. Also, no shredder should be run constantly. If you want it to last, use it for 3-4 minutes then give it a rest for several minutes to let the motor cool down. This is common among home office shredders.
Have fun shredding!!

Great shredder for house/home office.

Great shredder for the home or home office. Does what is advertised to do. Easy to empty because of the handle. You can easily see when it is full through the little window in the front. Great little feet so it doesn't slide not even on carpet. I would like to have seen better handles on the side to lift it to put it away when not in use. I think noise level is OK for a shredder. Cord is good length. Basket easy to empty. One odd feature is that papers need to be fed slightly slanted due to paper guard.

This is my 3rd shredder and it does everything it says it does. Shreds quietly (humming noise - no grinding). It sucks up CDs, multiple pieces of paper and credit cards. Didn't stick once!!

Bargain shredder that does the job

I just purchased this Init shredder since it was on sale for $39.99. It was easy to assemble, only drawback I see is the top lid is pretty heavy, but if you have it setup then you won't be moving it around much. Only to remove the trash bag inside.
I will only be using the shredder for personal use, to destroy old mail and bills. With infrequent use, I expect it to last for many years. Added bonus that its a cross cut, and can take up to 10 pieces of paper.

Just bought one and was shredding documents for 1 1/2 hours off and on. Had no jams, no overheating. I thought it did a nice job shredding and it's not nearly as noisy as the bargain shredder I had from the office supply store.

I love this shredder! It was a little more than I wanted to spend but it was definitely worth it. It cuts the paper in a lot of little pieces. It doesnt slow down with several sheets and it even cuts cards (credit, insurance etc.) very quickley and easily. I definitely recommend this shredder.

i've been wanting one of these bad boys for a while now cuz i'm so terrified of identity theft, after lots of research i decided on this cuz of the great reviews and the price. I'm so happy i chose this because so far its been amazing! i've already shredded 2 boxes of old bills and personal paperwork, i even stredded credit cards and those stupid plastics that come in with those annoying pre-approved credit card letters. i'm impatient so i have tried to stick 20+ pages in there at once, so it got jammed but i "un-jamming" it was super easy :) i love the reverse feeder as well and the clean is super easy. i'm glad i made this purchase.

After having the cutting blades crush themselves on two diamond cut shredders I had previously I was pleased to see how strong the cutting mechanism on the Init shredder appeared.
Its fairly quiet - not whisper quiet but not bad (one of the shredders I had before was a screamer). It shreds fairly quickly and I have had no problems with it.
Given my past experience and what I saw out there in shopping for a new shredder, I would have no hesitation in recommending this product over all the others I saw in this price range.

Good product for price. Used it primarly for home use to shred personal letters and mail. 1 - 4 pages seem to work the best. If more than 5 pages, it works but motor/blade seem to work hard and feel like it would jam. Large coupon envelopes jam but reversing the feed would free up. CD shredding works well (single CD). We are happy with the product and it does its job well. Cansister is big enough to hold shredded papers. Papers are shredded small bits and definitely can't put them back to a piece.

Only had for a short time so no rating on Reliability. But the Crosscut is great! Makes short strips instead of long strips (more like confetti). As advertized it even shreds credit cards. Now I won't be able to buy anything else in the future (just kidding). It's also great for shredding junk-mail and all those pesky political candidate mailings!

I broke our Fellowes shredder by putting too much into it after 3 years of shredding. This Init shredder so far has exceeded my expectations for the price, under $60. I did a consumer review search after I bought it which I usually do first but it was spontaneous purchase, and almost returned it unused. I decided to give it a chance. Shreds unopened mail, goes continuously and is compact. I really like the on off 3 position switch that is not a toggle, as my cat uses this for its "step up" to its feeding table and won't accidently turn it on.

Ok, bought this this tonight (3 Mar 09) cause my other shredder has been taken over by my fiance's sister. Pulled it out of the box, popped the two pieces together, and started shredding. SWEET! I started with just a couple pages, then decided to see what would happen with 10 sheets. She ate through em, it sounded rough, but she got through all 10 sheets. After putting about 200 sheets through it I figured I would see what it would do to a CD. ICK!! Not pretty. It stopped three time while trying to chew through the CD. I had to reverse it to get it to continue to feed.
All in all it works pretty good. I like it.
