I ruined my old one when I ran a butter knife though it. LOL Yes, I did. I was trying to clear some paper and forgot it was on. Oops! I bought this one because it wasn't all that expensive and it's about the same size as the one I had. It's crosscut which, in my opinion, is superior to strip cut. It's quieter than the old one and it has the handle which helps a lot when you need to empty the basket. And it takes a full sheet of paper without folding it. I'd say it's a good buy.

Great product at a great price. No home should be without a shredder, and this one is a goody.

It shreds good but the clippings could be smaller.

The only thing I don't like about this product is I have to turn papers sideways, because otherwise I noticed that printed information is still decipherable after it's been cut. I don't know if this is normal for all crosscut shredders but I never noticed that with my previous Royal brand shredder. A larger receptacle would be useful, but it's worth the money, especially if you use Reward Zone discounts.

I read good reviews for this, so I gave it a shot and then, when it broke, gave it another. Neither time was abusive use - just consistent shredding for 5 minutes then I'd let it rest. It broke after the first couple of bins shredded. Strong motor and can shred close to 10 pages at once without motor sounding like it's dying. A bit difficult to feed with the safety input area. This would be a great shredder for someone who has a handful of papers per day. Does great when it works, but can't handle a big pile of papers.

I have gone through 3 other shredders that were about same price but died too soon. So far seems very quiet and does a great job. Pieces are fairly small so would be hard to restore.

Longtime Bestbuy customer, 1st review. I bought the 1st one yesterday and it lasted 5 minutes before gear broke. Motor whines but doesn't turn shredders. It claims 10 page capacity and I never went over 5. Exchanged 1st one the next day and the second one broke in 5 minutes as well. I promise you I didn't force it. It is inexpensive (except for gas wasted getting a new one each day) and easy to use but I wouldn't waste the time it takes getting a new one everyday.Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeesh what a waste a time and gas. I will say the Bestbuy customer service folks were wonderful. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PIECE OF JUNK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just bought this shredder about 1 month ago and it'is still working!

This is a good shredded, but it is slow on multiple pages and cds, it acts like it is gonna stop or bog down on more than 6 pages and cds. It is good for home use, not so good for businesses.

This shredder has been really convenient for my office. It was great for getting rid of all my confidential documents like spam mail, old letters, and dirty magazines. Now I know my privacy is protected when someone empties the recycle bin.

Don't think you'll find a better shredder at this price point. The only thing I don't like is it's not as wide as a business size envelope. I've had it about three months with no problems.

i would recomend this item to a friend it is a very good shredder and it does what it says and it not too big or not too small, It can fit easily into any small space such as underneith a desk or in a small corner.

I was looking for a shredder and bought one before....returned that product right away. This product is used daily and is GREAT. I can't say anything negative about it. We love it!

I had read the reviews and most people gave it great ratings. As for me if I could give something less than a star, I would. It worked great for a couple of days. We use it for home use to shred bills, bank statements. Nothing heavy duty and we definitely did not put in more than 4 sheets of paper at a time. After 2 days, it jammed, tried cleaning out the bits in the shredder, and even when we got 95% of the paper bits that got stuck in it, it still wouldn't shred anymore... dead... gone... kapoot! What a disappointment. Stay away from this junk!
