I just got this stand this mourning Best Buy delivered free they were on time just before 8:00AM. I started to put the stand together this afternoon I would say its a 30min to an hour job if you keep at it. Everything is in the packages & labeld. I had to go back over a few things to make sure I was doing the correct thing. For me everything went together pretty good look at the pictures & they will show you what goes with what pretty simple. The last 2 screws I did not know how they went to secure the top shelf that slowed me down. They go thru the back part of the stand so once I got this I was done. This stand was purchased for my new Sony Bravia 40 inch flat Screen LCD. I got it around the first week in July to replace my 9yr old Sony that went out so I needed a new stand also. The look is pretty good the stand is solid. You should have plenty of room for most componets TV on top with cable/satelite box on one of the 2 glass shelfs underneath. There is still plenty of room for a PS3 & DVD or Surround Sound type stuff. The open back should give you plenty of air circulation. As another review said you may want to put it together in the location where you are going to use it. It is kinda heavy when you get the 2 glass shelfs on it.

    Great stand for cheap

Great stand for cheap. It's the perfect size and shape for my room. The faux wood material looks faux up close but fine from a distance. Its a nice neutral dark color and the chrome bits aren't garish. It hides cords well and has good ventilation for hot AV components that need it. Assembly was simple. I'd been looking for a stand with these exact dimensions for a particular place in my home and was having to consider much more expensive stands with less storage. I spotted this one on Best Buy's Black Friday Sale list, ordered it online and have no regrets. The price is unbeatable for what you get. Another plus is that it utilizes space well. No tall legs, or overly thick shelves to reduce the space for your equipment which is important in a stand that's only 20" tall. The upper glass shelf allows just enough space to stand up all your DVD/Blu-ray/game disc cases with the title facing out. Mine holds a receiver, xbox360, ps3, separate amplifier, and about 35 discs with plenty room to spare. The top is very sturdy. It holds a heavy 50" plasma easily and I'm sure a 60" TV would be no problem.

Had to find a stand to fit an area that was created for a 50" box tv. We bought a 50" plasma, now we needed to find a stand and blend in with the rest of the rooms decor and fit all our components without looking to cluttered. This one fit the bill perfectly. The glass shelving is frosted and tempered; dust does not show as much as on our other glass shelves or black lacquered units in other rooms. We are able to fit our dual dvr/satellite receiver, our dvd playerj/recorder, my Wii and my husbands xbox and playstation, with room to spare for receiver (a future purchase). There are a lot of cords back there but unless I sit or lie on the floor I don't really see it all. Most of the wires are hidden behind the rear center wall. Most of the wires aren't ran through the center hole because there were too many. I was able to run them straight back the toward the back center. It helps that it's all tucked into a prebuilt inset into the wall. i'm sure I'd feel a little different if i was in a wide open area but I'd have that same issue regardless of the stand.

As many other reviewers on here, I have assembled my share of this type of furniture. I can tell you that INIT is light years ahead of the thier competitors in regards to component quality and ease of assembly. Some high points include: HUGE instruction sheet that is well written and includes pictures with each step. All hardware is included in seperate little bags, unlike some companies that put 100 screws and bolts in one bag. Each bag is clearly marked with a designating letter. The designers kept assembly to an absolute minimum in my opinion. Very simple and effective. Honestly, I have never built something like this without getting frrustrated; poor instuctions, flimsy quality, missing parts etc., but this was a surpisingly easy build. This stand looks great, is very sturdy, and a steal at this price. Make sure you read the specs for your particular needs and you are sure to be pleased!

Just finished with putting this together. The directions and packaging was easy to understand and clearly marked to avoid confusion. Came with the glue (for dowels) and allen wrench. You will need your own phillips (X or cross) screwdriver. Bought from Best Buy for the full price of $169.00, even though they didnt have a display of the stand on their sales floor. So I had to use the website as my only guide. Purchase was mostly "pro" and little "con". In fact the worst part was that the website states the unit is BLACK, while the box says "espresso". Which could be though of as brown IMO... I needed Black to match our other living room furniture. Luckly it is more on the black side, however not like a real black as the website shows. So becareful about that. But other than that I can not find anything wrong with the unit. It's solid enough for a "pressed board" construction piece, while still valued at a bargin price of under $200.00

Decent looking entry level flat screen stand (just a little darker than I expected). I'll be using it to support a 52" Sony Bravia, Cable Box/DVR, DVD/VHS recorder combo and a HTPC Lenovo Q700). It should serve me fine until I upgrade to a "designer" stand sometime in the future. Internet sale price of $169 was honored in Anchorage. Ordered on-line for in-store pickup and brought it home today. Reasonable carton weight of approximatley 70-75 pounds and I was able to get it out of the car and into the house myself. Components were packed very well with adequate foam and particle board stiffeners at each end of the carton. Assembly was ridiculously easy, 20 minutes top. My only suggestion is to install the little suction cup shelf supports after you place the glass shelves on the supports. Just lift the glass shelf up a bit and wiggle them into the holes.

Product is fine. It holds my TV, seems pretty sturdy and looks nice. However, I cannot say the same about the service at the Best Buy on Rainbow and the I215. They were rude, slow and disagreeable. I bought the TV stand online, but I had to wait standing in line at the store for 45 minutes while the little girl who was at Customer Service flirted with a tattooed young man who was returning a purchase. Once I got to the desk, I was informed that my product was in the warehouse out back and they would bring it to me when they had a chance. I had to wait another 20 minutes for them to retrieve a TV stand. The reason I bought online and picked up at the store was to avoid a delay. Las Vegas, stay away from this store!

This stand seems pretty sturdy. Assembly took about an hour, but I was half watching TV while putting it together, so it probably could have gone together in much less time. The instructions that come with the stand indicate that it is made for 47" TV's, and holds up to 260 lbs, which is different than what Best Buy lists. The packaging for the stand was tight, and protective. All the pieces were there, and each little bag of screws was labeled accordingly. The glass was intact, and packaged appropriately. I saw no chips or scratches. The glass is the heaviest part of the stand. I'd recommend assembling the bulk of the stand, then putting it in position, AND THEN put the glass in place.

Rock solid; plenty of room for components. Relatively easy to assemble; took me about 45 minutes. Not a lot of ways to conceal wiring but plenty of air circulation to keep components cool. I have a home theater, cable box/DVR, WII, switch and power center/filter and still have plenty of room. Kind of heavy, but that's what makes it so solid and stable. You'll need help moving it into place, especially if putting it in a corner as you'll need to wire up components as you move it into place, otherwise hard to access connections. Finish is attractive and matches other INIT products of this color; appears durable. Had to use a little lacquer thinner to remove excess glue at laminate seams/corners.

I was looking at an $800 Omnimount Silhouette 48 stand for a 54 inch plasma display, when I decided to see if I could find something a little cheaper. This stand has the same dimensions. This might be the best $129.99 I've ever spent. (It was on sale $40 off the regular $169.99). I would buy this again and gladly pay full price. I was super easy to assemble. All the pieces were clearly labeled to match the instructions. It looks great and is a perfect match for a 48-54 inch flat panel TV. Frosted glass shelves and lightweight, synthetic wood work very well. Highly recommended you won't find better at 3x the pricse.

Great TV stand: Stylish, easy to assemble, sturdy

This is a great TV stand. Assembly: It was easy to assemble, but for comfort sake, I would recommend having two people to put it together. The tempered glass is surprisingly heavy and since it's glass it's somewhat difficult to hold onto, so be careful. Style & Feel: Simple, contemporary design. The wood and glass are very sturdy and have a very solid feel. There was no hesitation in putting our 47" LCD HDTV on it. Wire management: The slit in the middle back panel helps to hide the wiring; very nice. If you get lazy, you can also easily run wires through the rear side openings as well. Overall: At under $200, this stand is a great value and looks like it costs way more than that. It's sturdy and stylish to boot. I am extremely happy with the product.

I have purchased and assembled MANY pieces of furniture like this my lifetime. This Init TV stand is, by far, the best designed unit I have had the pleasure of putting together. I know it is made from composites but it looks and feels like solid wood. It went together easily and is very, very sturdy. I find the stand to be classy looking with it's shape and sutle shade of black stain that lets the wood grain show through. It is a great addition to my room and compliments the other furniture well. I liked this unit so much I went back and purchased two more for the other TV's in my house. Thanks go to reviewer HDKinAnchorage, AK for the tip about installing the suction cups last.

This stand is hard to beat for ease of assembly, solid design and the right dimensions for a 46-50" flat panel set, especially at the sale price. The color goes with most AV equipment well. It wll also hold a large center channel speaker on the shelf below the TV. I wanted a nice piece of furniture to match my living room, but didn't want to pay as much for the stand as the TV, so this was the best alternative. By the way, if you think you might need to disassemble this thing some day, you might not want to use the glue on the dowels.

Very Nice unit for Large Televisions

I was pleasantly surprized at how easy this was to set up, and how low profile it is when you put it in your area. It took only about 45 minutes to put together, and it fits into the corner very well. It IS a little low if you have a Recliner... (your FEET get in the way) But all in all, for the Money, it's a GREAT purchase. Blends in good with my Television and components too. The "unopened" Box is a little heavy, but once you put it together, it's not too bad to move around.. I'd suggest whether you're on a budget, or not...

The hardest part of assembling this stand was getting it out of the cardboard box. I think Init uses a super epoxy to seal their cardboard. Nonetheless it took only about 20-30 minutes to assemble by myself. Instructions were really easy to understand. The stand is very durable and holds my 42" TV with no problems. It is really stylish with the chrome accents and frosted glass shelves. The shelves don't wiggle or move, and there isn't any worry of them falling or breaking. An absolutely great stand for the money. :)

    Great low-cost Component Stand

This unit is well-built and very sturdy, with an interlocked design that eliminates that cheap 'flex' feel seen in other units. The dark (DARK!) woodgrain pattern is almost invisible, but adds a different look than the typical solid color laminate. Not crazy about the silver / chrome look on the glass support and legs, since my other furniture has that 'gunmetal gray' look.. but this is a great deal for the price (paid $135 on sale) - you won't find anything close to this quality for that amount.

We bought this as a "temporary" stand b/c we bought my grandmother a tv for Xmas and it was being delivered. We hadn't found exactly what we wanted. Other than the color being a little darker than I expected, I'm overly pleased with this product. I put it together by myself and it didn't take me long at all. Although, my grandmother would probably prefer something with cabinet-type doors, I love the look of this stand. I have a feeling that it will last longer than only "temporary".

I picked this up on clearence for $79.99 and i got to say it is a nice piece of furniture. I wanted something real wood but couldn't find anything I liked that wasn't a small fortune. I saw this and it was about $100 off the original price. The display model was a little beat up but I could tell even though it is press wood it is durable and the shelves are very heavy glass. This impressed me with how sturdy it is and looks like a more expensive piece than it was.

I use it for my pioneer kuro 500m and it's perfect. I was hesitant to get it at first due to the price and perceived quality. It actually turned out to be a great value. I like the modern design, the finish, the sturdyness and how easy it was to put together. I was thinking of getting BellO or BDMI ( I have a BellOdownstairs and took me 5 hours to put together and I'm still worry about how sturdy it is). I highly recommend the item and would buy the brand again.

I am not sure what kind of coffee the person who named this stand's color "Espresso" drinks, but the stand is black, it's as black as it gets, there isn't even a hue of brown. Other than that it is a good stand, very sturdy and nice for a bigger TV. Easy to assemble. The label on the back of it says it supports up to 240lbs unlike Best Buy's description that says 300lbs. But I doubt anyone will have a 50'' in TV that weighs more than 240lbs anyway.
