creative ingenuity that gave us Up, Wall-E, and the Toy Story movies. That's not to say Pixar forgot how to touch our hearts in the meantime; far from it, actually. When it comes to the joyous and fearful touchstones that mark the passage of childhood, themes visited in everything from Toy Story to Monsters, Inc., Pixar has proven themselves uniquely attuned. When Inside Out was announced with some great fanfare a few years ago, it seemed like the kind of wildly ambitious idea the studio hadn't attempted in quite a while. That was reason enough to be excited, but that it would center largely on the emotions of a single adolescent girl put it right in their emotional wheelhouse.

Inside Out is a great movie for all ages. Disney/Pixar did a great job on the CGI and the story overall. It's too see the emotions of a little girl as she grows up to a young teenager. You have 5 emotions, Joy, saddiness, anger, disgust, and Fear. This movie gives everyone almost an inside look at what a child might feel after moving from one place she knows and loves to another place that's not her home. It's great for all ages. I highly recommend it if you have a Disney / Pixar collection.

This film delivered the signature Pixar charm and heart, and managed to visualize an imagined environment--the inside of the character's mind. There was humor and pathos to cross generational divides, and it was a genuine delight to see how different parts of memory and thought processes were visualized, with some additional sight gags thrown in. Outstanding voice work from some beloved actors elevated it even further. Deserving of all the praise it's received.

it goes without saying that this is a great movie, good storyline humor that spans all ages and great acting. i enjoyed watching the movie. I bought the blue ray 3d package and it comes with 3 discs, one dvd, blu ray and blu ray 3d. I was happy that in addition to the movie, the Lava You short was included on all of them even the dvd (sometimes they skimp on dvd) and the quality of the picture was excellent in hd. we watched this for family night on my projector and it looked stunning. Also the digital movie was redeemable on disney, amazon and itunes since I have those accounts linked to my Disney movie account. Well worthwhile package!

When i say one of pixars best I mean you can really connect to this film emotionally and what the main character is going though. You would think it would be impossible to make a film dealing with childhood depression in a kids film but this movie just nails it.

I love Pixar, and I love this movie. It probably helps to mention that I am a 30-something year old man, but I also love that about Pixar films... They're seemingly for a young audience, but really it's teens and adults that would really appreciate a film like this. Thoroughly funny and completely imaginative the whole film, it does have a few thought-provoking moments of sadness and loss of childhood that I don't think a child would appreciate or relate to as much as an adult. I even had a couple moments where I got a little watery-eyed. I really loved the originality and creativity of this whole world, Pixar you did it again!

The actual steelbook is really cool looking. It’s a very simple design but it really works especially with the yellow color. The cover and back are really cool since they contain important characters. The actual inside is just a still image which I feel the could have put something else but the artwork and overall design make up for it. The movie is fantastic and the 4K transfer looks really good as well.

Movie Rating: 5/5 - Pixar returns to form, delivering an emotionally engaging story. Inside Out at times, feels like it was made more for the Parents of children, struggling to see their child grow up and lose their adolescence innocence. Remarkable film that will no doubt bring a tear or two to Parent's eyes. Blu-ray Picture Quality: 5/5 - Image is pristine, character details and textures are sharp and incredible. Absolutely stunning transfer. Blu-ray Sound Quality: 5/5 - DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 lossless soundtrack sounds incredible. Audio enthusiasts will no doubt be impressed with this release.

My wife and I love Pixar/Dinsey movies and we couldn't wait for this to come out. Once it did we quickly went to the movie theater and we were not disappointed! Everything is perfect from the characters to the voice actors used! Once we had seen it, we knew we had to get it on Blu-ray once it was available. Luckily, Disney keeps offering the combo with the DVD and Blu-Ray as well as their digital movie service. I tried to get it online Thanksgiving but they were sold out, so we dropped by Best Buy after eating and waited in line to get it. Totally worth it! Great movie and great price!

I grew up with The Disney movies, enjoyed most of the animated classics from the 60's & 70's. When we saw Inside Out the first time it was mostly families with children - toddlers to grade school & older. So we saw it about a week later & truthfully there were more adults and a few families with children. After it ended some of the adults were talking about how they felt like the character in the movie at times good & bad feelings. Great movie for young & old because at times anger can over come us in long lines in the store or slow traffic etc. The trading cards were a nice touch.

Love this movie and the packaging. Came with the character cards. When playing it on Blu Ray showed wonderfully. This movie really hits home on what families go through raising children and as well shows what teens go through with their parents. Thought the writers showed each persons perspective wonderfully. Also, showed how human we really are and how it is important to express ourselves and tap into each emotion in a balanced way. Did not have any problems with playing the dvd, everything that was promised in the package was there. I would recommend this movie. Excellent!

Very good film, but not a Pixar Classic

Inside Out tells the story of a 11-year-old girl named Riley who is ruled by her emotions. Those emotions are joy, sadness, anger, fear and disgust. Riley has lived a mostly happy life, but when she and her family move to California from Minnesota, she is in danger of losing two of her emotions: joy and sadness. Inside Out has plenty of heartwarming and tear-jerking moments, but I do not believe it reaches the upper echelon of Pixar classics such as Wall-E, Up, or Ratatouille. There are times where there can be too much exposition. However, don't let this deter you from purchasing the film. There is plenty of humor and insight in this film. Riley is a sympathetic and empathetic character. Haven't many us of had mixed emotions when moving into a new job, a new school, or a new home? Also, I loved the fact that director Pete Doctor along co-writers Meg LeFauve and Josh Cooley emphasize the importance of feeling sad. Although there are some concepts and jokes young children will not understand, Inside Out is a very good family film and worth adding to your film collection.

I only buy physical copies of movies that I truly loved and want to keep forever. Inside Out was no exception. I had seen the movie in theatres, and vowed to purchase it on blu-ray once it came out. After I bought the movie, I showed it to my parents, who ended up watching it multiple times on their own. It is a very relatable, and obviously emotional, story, that I believe will last the test of time. Pixar nails it when it comes to making animated films enjoyable for both children and adults. Absolutely fantastic movie and I would recommend it to literally anyone.

All my family members love this movie and we are glad that we bought the 3D version, which is excellent. We went through moving a few years ago when my daughters were 13 and 6 years old. They did not handle well during the transition period because they did not know how to express their emotions at that time. This movies touches the inner hearts of my kids and they share the same feelings shown in the movie. This is an excellent guide for younger kids so they can learn how to deal with their feelings and emotions better - very good movie for every one in the family.

Inside Out is probably the biggest gamble that Pixar ever made trying to tell an animated story. It's more geared to adults than any other film they have ever made. It's complicated, with a lot of very complex metaphors. It attempts to tell a story far more related to the real world than any they have ever told as far as I can tell. There's no witches, magic, space-rangers, talking inanimate objects, or the like. And yet... I knew from the trailers and reading a book about Pixar that this film was going to be different from the other ones that Pixar has released.

My grandson learned about emotions at preschool so I decided to see if he would like a movie about emotions. He loves this movie! Inside Out covered all the emotions he learned about in school in an enjoyable method. I liked how Riley's facial expressions linked to how she felt inside. What I liked the most about the movie is that it was not 90% filled with songs. The movie is entertaining and holds a child attention without the use of a lot of annoying songs. I also liked the fact that the package came with DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download.

Inside Out isn't just another dazzlingly colorful and heartfelt effort from Pixar, it's a portrait of the constant battle of wills within ourselves and the intricacy and necessity of all emotions, not just the good ones. As nice as it may sound to constantly envelop ourselves is that which makes us joyful, to deny the other facets of life - the scary, the distasteful, the enraging, and the sorrowful - is to as much to deny that which builds our best qualities as our worst ones. And the emotions are all textured to look like muppets, so that's a bonus too.

We got this movie, on a whim, when we were shopping for a refrigerator. My 5 year old is learning about naming his feelings to learn to control himself at school. This gives a good visual and speaks at a kids level, being that it is a kids movie. They can relate to the feelings and urges, so they can see that their teachers and parents are not making this stuff up. There is also some "couple" humor that moms and dads can appreciate, which is always fun. We laugh and he looks at us like we are crazy. At least, until the next kids joke comes up.
