Would have given it a 5-Star rating if it would have had Tx & Rx LED, but that would be a lot to ask for on a low cost unit

Updated drivers not available on the Insignia website, had find company who manufactured this cable for Insignia and get drivers from their website.

In today's computers a serial port isn't included and to overcome this a USB to serial converter is required. Most of these install but are difficult to get working. This adapter installed without issue and was up and being used in less than 2 minutes.

There is an issue where it does not work well with windows 10. After finding this glitch i purchased another computer with windows 11, and this cord worked. I purchased three of these thinking the cord went bad. My finding they all three worked fine with windows 11. Hope this helps someone.

One note: I did have to download the driver software online there was no problem finding the software from the manufacturers web site.

Basic Serial Cable That Does the Job

It's kinda expensive but no issues getting the serial console to work. It even works on a Macbook (but good serial console software is hard to find).
