Great For Pairing Legacy Devices To New Systems

So I had to purchase this cable, so I could load and run the fax software with the modem on my Windows 10 computer.

This was recognized instantly in Windows 10, automatically loaded drivers so I didn't even have to bother. Instantly I had a serial port I could use for console access... Can't ask for more.

Installed and Windows found the requisite driver in seconds. 4 stars would have been 5 if the cord had been longer. 1.3 feet seems to be rather short for most applications. Had to buy a USB extension cable which works fine.

I explained what type of cable I was looking for and what my intentions were. He recommended this product. When I got home, it didn't work, and the store had already closed for the day. I knew I would not be able to return it for a while with my busy schedule, so I put it aside and ordered the correct cable from Amazon. It arrived the next day. I stopped shipping at Best Buy years ago because I've always felt like things were overpriced and their products don't seem to last. When I finally tried to return it, the manager told me it had been 16 days and the return policy says 15 days is the limit for returns. I pleaded with him and explained how the employee made me purchase the wrong product. He didn't care and said sorry, there's nothing he could do. Then had the nerve to say, "enjoy the rest of your day" sarcastically. I let him know that unhelpful, rude people like HIM are my main reason for not shipping there anymore.

Cable worked great for the purpose and I was fine with paying the premium as I needed it the same day for work while out of town. It is really short though, so ensure you have the two items close.
