I like the insignia tablet because it is easy to use. But they don't last very long before something breaks. Be sure to get extra warranty. Brandy at Best Buy in Houma was a great help showing me what I needed to save my pictures.

Took my tablet to Best Buy for repair. Best Buy said my HP tablet could not be repaired. Salesman said this model was a good replacement. It's much slower than my previous tablet and turns itself off quite often.

Very slow, looks cheap but it’s lightweight and kid friendly. My 6 year old son loves it and the picture quality is good. Also it is WiFi only .. no option to add it to a phone line. Overall it was a good purchase

I should have paid attention to the amount of memory that is in this thing. 1Gb is not really quite enough for most things to perform very well - there is some lag. But overall, it powers through and does the job.

This tablet is a prime example of you get what you pay for. I was in the market for a value tablet, and am not a fan of Samsung only because of their version of Android OS. I had an idea of what I was getting into with this but this tablet still did not meet my low expectations. The processor is extremely under powered to do anything remotely expeditiously. I had to unlock developer settings to limit background processes in order to limit the constant "_____ app has stopped working" notifications for apps I wasn't even using. Transitioning from one app to another is slow and time consuming. The main purpose I bought this tablet for was to read and take notes on pdf files of a course I am taking. It does this fantastically, but only after the file is downloaded. It does play videos well, but again, only after they are downloaded. I like that it is "stock" android 7 (Nugat) and was the most economical choice for the as close to most recent operating system available. I'm still amazed at how lacking tablets are at receiving OS and security updates when they have all the same access our phones have, some even with carrier support. Overall, this underperforming (aside for basic tasks), cheap tablet will fulfill my temporary needs, but I would not recommend it to anyone that expects anything close to their phones in regards to performance. I would not buy it again.

    Crashes

This tablet crashed 3 times in the first 2 hours and that time was mostly spent trying to get it set up. I knew I was going to have problems when it took better than 10 sec to load the google home page on the browser. Are you kidding me - the google home page - that's as basic as it gets. I then tried to go to bestbuy.com - it really didn't like that. It was moving at a snails pace from page to page then it decided to crash. I restarted and tried 2 more times with same results after 10 to 15 min of web surfing. Ok somebody will say that I am not using it for its intended purpose. Well I am just trying to surf the web, check my emails and maybe watch a movie from time to time -not record an album, hack someone or write code. As for BestBuy - This is your house brand so it should say something positive about your company. I have other insignia products such as TV's with no complaints. Please put more quality electronics is these or don't bother putting them on the market. Now I have missed out on some other Christmas deals because I was banking this tablet! Lesson learned - you get what you pay for in tablets.

I have hesitated for a long time before buying this tablet, and for mainly one reason only: the amount of main (processing, not storage) memory, which, for the NS-P10A8100, is limited to 1GB. This is barely enough for the Nougat OS itself, and if you are in a habit of leaving many applications open, will cause you to hate the tablet quickly. However, if you can get this tablet for a good price (say, less than $75), and if you can be bothered to remember to close background apps, do not run memory-hungry apps, and won't mind an occasional slowdown, this is not a bad choice. For the money you get a tablet with 10.1" screen and 32GB of onboard storage. The build quality is pretty nice. Sure, the screen resolution is only 1280x800, and cameras probably aren't anything to write home about, but at this price point the only competition would be an Amazon Fire tablet, and that would mean becoming Amazon's newest, bestest friend for life. Pick your poison... I bought two of these.

This is the 2nd of these tablets I have purchased; the performance and features are great for the price. We have had some build quality issues with the first one we purchased and the tablet after a few months of use quit working however since it is an Insignia product with a one year warranty we took it back to Best Buy and within 5 mins the associate pulled a new one off the shelf for us to replace it under warranty.

Pros: Big screen, very good picture for this price range Cons: Runs slower than a snail crawling through glue I bought this tablet to read textbooks that have embedded pictures and tables, so the most important feature to me was screen size and image clarity. The screen resolution is very good, especially for this price range. However... the performance is terrible. I have basically nothing installed except the system apps (which can't be removed without doing some things that tend to void warranties), and the performance is really slow. I have a $50 cell phone with the same amount of RAM that can run circles around this tablet. The only thing I'm doing with it is reading Amazon books and occasionally opening Google Maps. (I have yet to be able to open Google Maps without it crashing the tablet, so something is obviously wrong there.) Final conclusion is that I will be returning this and getting a smaller tablet with a bigger brain.

I purchased this tablet as a gift for my wife to replace the one she has. She likes the size, the setup was very easy and adding the Nook reader and video streaming service she likes was very easy. Web browsing, viewing video, online banking and the other things she does with it have been straight forward and seamless.

I bought this as a replacement for an older one for my twelve year old. It is great and more than I thought. The price was amazing for what we got. He loves it. The dual camera is great for a tablet like this. It compares pretty well to my iPad 2 believe it or and a third the price.
