I bought this freezer to expand my ability to put up fruit and vegetables for winter and to store meat I find on sale. It's a nice size and its capacity is expanded by using the baskets recommended by Lloyd about a year ago. (from his review... - I purchased 3 14x16x8 white wire baskets that fill one side of the freezer from Home Depot search "closetmaid 1088".) They work perfectly and really help organize the contents of the freezer.

Needed a freezer big enough to hold a whole beef. I have had it for a couple of months and has preformed flawlessly. I was able to fit an entire beef, a whole deer, a couple of pork butts, and still have some space left over. Got this on sale, and it was 100$ less than the closest match (size wise) in the entire metro area, and less than half the cost of a upright. These are also handy to keep popsicles/ice cream and stuff in where the kids are going to be frequently opening it. Our main fridge/freezer has a hard time removing the moisture when the humidity is high during the summer and throws a code for being froze up. This has ended that problem, as it is not as affected as much by being opened.

Awesome freezer. Started getting cold about 8 hours after installation. Fits a lot of meat that I couldn’t store in my upright refrigerator! Great value for the price

This freezer was just the right fit for us - not too big and not too small. Works great. Came down to temp fast. Wish there was more than one basket.

I did a lot research on freezers before purchasing this model. Result - almost all are now made in China or majority of parts come from China. GE seemed to be one of the more reliable brands and they are now part of the Harier company (China), however Media (China) is currently manufacturing the GE freezers. So, this Insignia freezer is also manufactured by Media and is almost identical to GE models - in fact I found that replacement parts are through Media as is GE - same diagram. This unit does not however have some of the features of higher priced units: interior light, wheels, lock. For me reliability and garage ready were key features and price point was right. Freezer is quiet and seems to be reasonably well built (not like my 30 year Frigidare, but way more energy efficient). I have only had this unit for 1 month, so the real test has not been acheived yet. So far happy with purchase and would recommend.

This deep freezer is very lightweight. Easy to both move with a dolly and install. The freezer chilled very quickly after 1 month of having it currently I have not had any problems. I recommend this for anyone just needing a small freezer for outside or indoors at a pretty fair price. Only problem i've notice was it slightly sliding on the stands that came with it to keep it from scratching the corners.

As multiple other reviewers have stated, the chest freezer arrived with multiple dents. There was no damage to the box so the company that manufactures these apparently doesn’t care what they send out. Called the Geek Squad and got a credit appied back to my card. No clue on longevity, but it is CHEAPLY made. Hoping it lasts at least a few years.

We love this freezer! It hold so much and keeps everything frozen. I also like the basket that comes with it.

The size was perfect, very quiet too, and as long as I can keep my kid from taking food from it it maintains great temperature.

A year later and this thing works as expected. I haven't had any issues with it. It keeps things cold. The seal is good, and it's surprisingly energy-efficient. It's kept in an uninsulated garage where temperatures range from 3 (37) to 40 (104) throughout the year.

I bought this freezer about 4 months ago and it has been nothing short of effective. Simple to use, cold as you like and the basket that was invluded helps to maximize the space. My only complaint is that the only way to defrost the freezer is to turn it off and pull a plug in the bottom.

Such a lightweight deep freezer!! My wife and I were able to unload it without any issues. Plenty of room inside with a rack to store smaller items.

It's a great chest freezer and the perfect size for me, its not small but it isnt too big either. The one thing that i wish it had but obviouslyndoesnt in this price point, is an auto defrost cycle. Thanks to a misaligned lid it didnt seal properly for the first week and had ice buildup around the lip. Other then that its been holding temp like a champ even in my hot Florida garage, and its not garage rated either. If i were to do anything different i would have gotten the next size bigger simply because, as i found out later, that one has an auto defrost but I'll use this one till it dies.

Fantastic freezer. It does what a freezer does best... freezes! However, it also offers quiet operation. A++ would buy again!
