After talking to my brother I found out that this "Display Port to HDMI" cable was required to connect the PC to the Television or any device by using an HDMI input. This is the best display port to hdmi cable converter ever. It works as described. It's easy to install: Plug in one side and plug in the other side. The only mistake you could make is if you switched the HDMI and DisplayPorts.

Only works DisplayPort source to HDMI monitor.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not sure if the description was unclear or if I just didn't read closely enough, but this cable only works in the opposite direction that I needed it to. The DisplayPort end has to go into the computer and the HDMI end has to go to the monitor. To the cable's credit it is clearly labeled that this is the case. It does function just fine the correct way round, and with a HDMI switch did help me solve the problem I was trying to solve.

The cord itself is a thick braid rather than the usual plastic and the end are denser as well. Overall, a much better quality than other products.
