Great DVD players for the car

This set is great. The screens fit nicely on the back of my car's headrests and are easy to install and remove. The screens are big and bright. The absolute best feature of these is that each screen can play a different movie, so each kid can watch the movie of his or her choice! No more arguing over picking a movie!

Our granddaughter is enjoying her movies during long car rides. The screen size is great. The picture and sound quality are great. She enjoys watching with her headphones. The remote comes in handy too. Glad we purchased.

These are good players at a good price- with two caveats: (1) they won’t play in my 2012 Elantra, it just doesn’t offer enough power to run them, but will play in our newer vehicle, and (2) the players are for my kids to watch and keeping track of the remotes has been challenging. Don’t know if there’s any kind of solution to that, just something to be aware of. We used them for a 3 day cross country trip very successfully and multiple times since, overall happy with them.

These are a nice upgrade to our old ones. Large screen, loud enough speakers and quality picture. It's taking some getting used to are the controls for my 6yr old. The remotes are a definite plus. One thing I don't like is if you want to switch which player is playing and which is just watching, you have to switch which port the cable is plugged into on both players. Our old players just had one port in each and a switch flip was all that was needed.

Purchased the Insignia dvd 2 pack players for a 17 hour trip for my kids. On the way home feom our vacation one of the dvd players had to be laid flat to get the dvd to play and then it started makinpg clicking noises. I then placed the dvd in the 2nd dvd player and it worked fine. I also put a different dvd in what I thought might be a defective dvd player and it worked fine. Downfall is that some dvds may or may not work. Overall this product work for one road trip. Hopefully it will work for at least a few more trips.
The dvd came with a bag, two remotes, one wall charger, and two holders to be used on the back of a seats head rest.

We bought these for our kids to use on long journeys. They are great for keeping the kids entertained. My reason for giving four stars is the fact that to play a DVD the remote control has to be used, which is very inconvenient when the remote is misplaced. Also, from the driver's standpoint, trying to listen to your music and hearing the kid's music and shows right behind your head can be irritating. A good set of headphones is suggested.

They work decently. I've had a few weird glitches with them. You definitely have to learn them and how they best like to be used. Like shutting it off the right way. They're touchy I guess. Also the remotes that came with them don't work. They may need batteries I'm not sure I haven't had the chance to investigate further.

We are really happy with this DVD player. We installed in the car for long trips to keep the kids busy. Kids have been using for shorter trips - the car rides are quite now. The kids have been opting to watch movies over playing video games. I feel the price is well worth it.

Nice size and I love that they're equipped with remotes. However, the TV holsters keep sliding off my headrest.

They are pretty legit players, only issue I found was linking them together by power can’t be done in series as the other set I had did. Therefor the power has to be central to the TVs and the wires just barely reach to each in the vehicle.
Another issue is that they do link the display to the other video player but only if you hit the center button twice to get it to the correct source.
So now, every time you get in the car you’ve got to tap the other display twice to get it to duplicate from the source video.
Good news is, these seem a lot more durable and as the kids grow it will be nice when they can watch separate movies if they want.

Install was easy and price was right. The volume is a little low when listening without headphones. But the purpose of these were to keep kids entertained so they wear headphones all the time. It is also nice that they play there own movies and not one movie on two screen.

The cables need to be longer (as with all electronic devices for the car) but the quality is better than name brand (RCA). RCA uses better straps/mounts but their latches are fragile. This Insignia unit is better quality but the straps/mount is frustrating to use and doesn't work well. It also seems as if some features require the remotes for each individual unit so don't loose the remotes.

These are perfect for two kids. They can play one movie or two separate movies. The power cords are a little short but otherwise are just fine. Large screens, good volume, good picture quality and a solid price point. You can’t beat it.

We have purchased multiple portable DVD players over the years to use in the car for our children. This one is hands down my favorite. It’s durable which is one of the top things we look for after past experiences. Great picture quality, sound could be louder but not bad for the car.
Con: Trying to navigate the button on the player itself is tricky but starting to get use to it after 6mos.
