I originally bout the $49.99 six sheet version by this company, and it was a pile of junk. Dang near impossible to get one sheet in let alone 6. Had to be perfectly flat, and perfectly straight. I returned it, and they would only give me store credit. A shredder was all I needed as I just bought a new 65" tv the same day that I purchase that shredder. They said I could exchange or pick another one. Luckily they were out of the 6 sheet cheapie, and this on was less. Does 10 sheets, and old credit cards easily and quietly. I live on the 2nd floor of my complex, and my neighbor below is a constant complainer. This one having wheels buffers the sound even more so I don't get calls from management anymore accusing me of using a drill for too long (which I don't own one. LOL!) Great shredder for the price, and the manager gave me a good deal since they were out of other options, my tv purchase, and for my inconvenience. Highly recommend this shredder.

    Very Good Shredder

i had a Fellowes crosscut shredder for many years that ran extremely well, but due to age it finally decided to quit. I wanted to get a mircocut shredder to replace it and was looking at the Fellowes models when this Insignia came up on sale. I decided to give it a try and after a few weeks now am very pleased with the product. It is rated as a 10-sheet microcut shredder and it will do 10 sheets but it struggles some. anything over 10 sheets will cause it to jam, but you can get the jam to run through just by turning the unit on and off a few times. It microcuts very well, and i really like the full window in the front of the waste basket area, as it gives you a full view on how full the shredder is. It is easy to empty, as the inside basket is on rollers so it comes out easily. The whole unit is on rollers so it is really easy to move if needed. I have already run nearly 1000 sheets through it and it works extremely well, and hasn't overheated on me once, even after running maybe 200 sheets through without stopping. it is a little noisy when it runs, but what shredded isn't! I would recommend this one to anyone who needs a home office type shredder.

Easy to use and rolls comfortable out of the way when I am done using it. The credit card & dvd/cd slots have been very useful. It does make a bit of noise but that's to be expected. As with most paper shredders, it does overheat so it takes about 45-50 minutes to cool off. In short, a great product as long as I don't accumulate a huge stack of paper to be shredded. Great for short-term use on a daily basis.

Powerful, quiet and easy to clean/empty. Great value. Compact and minimal noise. A must have for the home office. Well worth the money! The micro clippings are easy to deal with and you are not dumping the bin every day.

The shredder is compact, quiet, and easier to empty than my previous one. I very much like that it has wheels. One critique regarding the purchase; the Best Buy clerk did not deduct a pending Reward Certificate (which I failed to see at the time of purchase); I do have until December to cash in so all is not lost.

After having this shredder for about I month, I have been extremely satisfied. My main gripe with regular strip and cross-cut shredders is that sometimes you can still read a decent part of the name or sensitive info after shredding. Not anymore with this bad boy. The pieces are extremely small and practically impossible to read. I think any lawyer would find this satisfactory to hide their clients' nefarious deeds, so most of us regular folk will be more than happy with the security this shredder provides. Out the box, the shredder is heavier than it looks. "Setup" only requires putting the wheels on the bottom. The shredder bin is sizable and very easy to remove and dump. While advertised as 10 sheets, I'm only comfortable with 6-7 sheets as it gets noticeably bogged down with that many. I've only had about 10 minutes of continuous use, but it didn't overheat in that time period. That being said, I wouldn't use this shredder for anything more than a home office due to its relatively slow speed. I would use caution if you have extremely sticky materials to be shredded (i.e. strong glue used on some legal sized mail envelopes). Those pieces tend to remain stuck on the blades moreso compared to non microcut shredders. It hasn't affected performance, but I'd imagine it may shorten the lifespan of the shredder blades. I typically rip those portions off and discard them with normal trash as they don't have anything on them. Mainly giving it 5 stars since I did purchase this using the "deal of the day" price of about $80 and got more than my money's worth. I would've gave it 4 at the regular price. In either case, it is pretty nice shredder overall.

You get a lot of bang for the buck with this shredder! Works better than anticipated. Most shredder brands fall short on their claim regarding how many papers can be shredded at one time, or the real amount of continuous runtime. This shredder worked exactly as claimed, in all aspects. It's also runs more quietly than other competitor brands. The best part is its many features (shreds paper, credit cards, CD's,and staples); it's virtually an all-in-one shredder!!! I consider it a very high quality product, on the top-end of the medium-use capacity shredders. If you don't abuse its functions, and follow the usage recommendations, you should easily get many years of satisfied use from it. The only two issues I have with it (and this is actually based on personal preference), is that 1. the unit doesn't allow use of insert bags to catch the shredded paper, and 2. the microcut shred produces more paper dust than compared to the crosscut design. As a result, these two conditions make it messy and inconvenient when emptying the reservoir. So if microcut is not a necessity, I would go for the crosscut., like I am going to do. Happy shredding! :D

This shredder is very easy to use and is fairly quiet. It shreds everything very small. The basket holds a lot and it has a see through window. The best part is it is on wheels.

I purchased this product because the reviews on it were very good. I just shredded 4 years of paperwork with staples, plus expired credit cards, and CD's. I only had 1 paper jam and it was because I was hasty and put in the 10 sheets crooked and it jammed at half way through the process. I thought sure I had ruined it for good. To my surprise, I put it in reverse and it did so with absolutely no problem. To say the least, this is an excellent product and I would definitely recommend it to anyone without hesitation. Also, in comparison to my other 15 sheet shredder which I had for 5 years, by another competitor, this one is quieter and does the job much, much better without any problems I am so glad I purchased this product.

I bought this shredder about 2 weeks ago and will say that I am extremely happy with it. I like the wider paper slot as it makes putting papers in easier because it doesn't need to be so exact. The noise is not so bad either, I've heard worse. I am not having issues with putting 10 or so pages into it and it easily cuts credit cards and staples. Note, I haven't tried a DVD, which it does accommodate. I say that if you want a very nice shredder that is not large and has an easy pull out bin and auto-reverse then this is the one for you.

We have bought several shredders over the years only to have them give out after a couple of years, so our expectations were low. Well our shredder gave out and needed a new one. We absolutely love this shredder because it does not overheat easily. My duaghter was able to shred a hugh stack of papers without stopping to let it cool down. It is also the quietest shredder we have owned. We also like the wheels. The only bad thing is it is top heavy, so you need to take care when moving it.

The Microcut shredder was a deal of the day sale, and we received a further discount by buying an open box. It was delivered in a battered original box to our door, no outside box to cushion the delivery service's poor handling. that said, it works great, no overheating/jamming that occurred with the smaller Insignia unit we have used for the last year. This model has a nice pull out paper container, and the wheels are also a nice touch. we would purchase it again.

This shredder is capacious and pretty quiet. I like the tilt-out receiving bin — which I line with plastic bags. There’s usually a bit of cleanup of shredded paper on the rug. I’ve had no jamming problems. I especially like that it can shred old CDs. The price from BB was just fine.

I’ve now owned this Insignia 10-sheet crosscut shredder for about 2 months. I’ve used it heavily to get rid of many years of accumulating private documents I no longer needed. It has performed very well with all of tree demands I have put on it to date. Multiple loads of various paper grades and up to 10 sheets at a time, often times with common staples, were handled repeatedly without any signs of overheating. The removable basket with window feature and casters are helpful. Just be careful when rolling to avoid tipping over since it is a bit top-heavy. At this point, I would definitely buy another because of its performance and price. The on sale price was an added plus. I definitely recommend this Insignia 10-sheet crosscut shredder!

This is replacing our old shredder. It is quieter and the results are a smaller finer cut. I like the removable bin and wheels. I usually feed 5 sheets or less when shredding. It will do 10 but it does make the machine work harder. I have not feed it a CD/DVD yet, so I can not comment on that function. Good price and great shred results.

I’ve had plenty other shedders that always get jammed or they over heat after only a few pages. This one is by far the best. I had a whole trash bag of papers and I was able to shred them with no issues. It has not given me any problems since I got it and I really like the way it shreds the paper into tiny pieces

I bought this shredder to replace my old one. I was hesitant in the beginning. Because it claimed to shred credit cards and even staples. I was so pleased with my purchase. It works great. I had no problem at all. It didn't jam, like my old one. It didn't over heat and it also didn't get little papers all over the floor. I am so happy with my purchase.

Seems powerful and shreds pieces small which also means the bin doesn't fill as quickly, which is really nice. It's also comparatively quite. The drawer style bin with the large sight window is a great feature. Considering I got it for $50 off I feel like I got a particularly great deal.

The shredder is quiet compared to most shredders I've had in the past. Papers don't jam when shredding 10 or more. Papers cut very fine and secure, easy to throwaway cut papers and it's very secure as far as the cut of the papers. You can't go back and piece together papers to get or steal personal information.
