Extremely happy with purchace
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice size, as I was looking for biggest without paying an arm and leg. It's quieter than I expected, and definitely does the job I need it to do. I shred quite a bit at a time and it never over heats or shuts off on me.

2nd Shredder in 4 months, but this one still works
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the second 10-sheet cross-cut shredder that I have purchased in 4 months. The first one (Ativa brand) kept jamming with a single sheet fed after 3-4 weeks. This Insignia is a more heavy-duty shredder, weighs more, takes longer to over-heat and less time to cool off, no problems shredding 6-11 pages at a time, quieter than the previous, and since it shreds paper (and credit cards) into much smaller pieces, there is less chance of paper jams, which is not stated in the product description. Within a 2-weeks, I shredded over 10 years of paper, and it's running fine. It might cost more, but you get what you pay for.

Tough Shred
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a small business owner and I had 5 years of shredding to do. I was going to take it someplace to have shredded and then thought I could BUY a nice shredder and do it myself. Money invested, not wasted. This shredder kicks butt! It is easy to empty and it shreds continuously filling the container up at least two times. It will run hot after a while. I would let it rest for 15 or so minutes and then continue shredding. It never jammed and I did at times put in more than 10 pages. This is one tough shredder! I do like that the container slides out for easy empty. I don't have to lift the whole machine. Oh, and it is on wheels for easy moving! There is a window in front so you can see when it is getting full. I would HIGHLY recommend this machine! The reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the volume that it can take. Ten pages seems like a lot until you have a ton of pages to shred.

Super Shredder
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this shredder! I have had several shredders through the years, but none compare to this one. The micro small pieces paper shreds into are phenomenal. No way anyone would ever figure out what was shredded let alone get any identity information from it. The information provided says shreds up to 10 sheets at once. I have not tried that, but have done around six. It slows it way down, so personally I wouldn't try to shred any more than 5 at once. It runs fairly quiet and shuts off when sheets are done shredding. Recommend highly!

Great Shredder at a Great Price
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old Fellowes shredder failed after 10 years or so of solid use. The Insignia™ - 10-Sheet Microcut Shredder is so much ,more economical. The opening is wide in both directions so papers just drop in beautifully. I don't have to manually turn it on or off..when I drop paper in the feeder, it wakes up and starts shredding. It's not the fastest shredder in the world but I'm loving it and should have just started with this one. The size is great and the design is wonderful. It is easy to empty and requires little maintenance. The Geek Squad service plan that I added is a plus.

Fast and effective
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the removable bin. Big enough for a trash bag and so much easier to empty than taking the top off and dumping it. Quick and quite when shredding disks. Love the wheels, makes it easy to move around.

Great micro-cut shredder for the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I looked all over for micro-cut shredders that didn't cost an arm and leg to buy. This one had good ratings, capable of 10+ pages and could be bought for under $100.... that worked for me. It's not a fast shredder but fast enough and I was more concerned with it staying together. It seems to be built like a tank and did a great job of shredding up all my records after filing taxes. I passed up a lot of crosscut shredders that were much cheaper because crosscut is not secure enough and too much information is still readable, so I decided to spend the extra money and get an Insignia micro-cut shredder.

Quieter than others
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this shredder for a few reasons: It's a little quieter than my last one, it completely shreds paper into tiny little pieces, the bin pulls out (rather than having to lift the head off), and it's slightly bigger than my last one so it holds more before needing to empty it. That said, it's important to empty it before it gets too full because it can make quite a mess if you let it get too full, as the tiny shreds of paper just keep dumping out of the head after you've removed the bin to empty it. But with a window on the bin, it's no problem seeing when it needs to be emptied.

Does what its supposed to and quietly !
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive had quite a few shedders in the last 10-15 yrs , good cheap ones and bad mid-to-expensive ones . I wanted decent page amount shredding , but with more cuts , decent speed , AND preferably nice and quite while doing its thing . ~ For the sale price ($80-85) over the 2020 holidays this unit seemed to fit the bill ..... and YES it does all its supposed to while being nice and quite !!!! So far Iam one happy shredder ( finally!) .Only time will tell , but hope it will last just as long as how quite it shreds :p . So far I do recommend it .

love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great shredder. We were worried at first since it is smaller than the old Fellowes. This is wonderful! The tiny pieces are unrecognizable. The smaller size is just fine, since the shredded paper is so compact. Quiet.

Awesome
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Fellowes Power Shredder that finaly died on me after 12 years. Was looking to get a replacement that can handle my power shredding moments. I ran this shredder through the wringer and only pausing after getting about 3 bins of shredded documents from overheating. I waited for a brief period for it to cool down and went at it again. This is a shredder that can keep up with my old power shredder and then some. Great purchase, hopefully it will last as long as my previous one.

Great shredder
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had my doubts about this shredder because it was tinier than my last one. But I didn't need to worry. This shredder does a great job, takes up less space and leaves less of a mess when you empty it.

Ideal shredder- hassle free
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this item, it's a little larger than other models but has wheels, so easy to move around. 10 sheet max good shredding capacity. Mostly loved the slide-out bin, so easy to empty out.

Great shredder
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this shredder. A Big reason why I bought this shredder was because it had a pull out bin. Hated a previous one I purchased where you had to take the top off and then empty the bin underneath...that one was returned. I also love that it is black and has wheels. It's quiet imo. I don't know about how many sheets it can shred, as I normally don't put in more than 3-4 sheets or so at once. I have to remove staples b4 shredding. I would recommend this shredder and I would purchase again.

Great shredder
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This shredder works great for me. Will give you confidence that no one can piece together what you've shredded. I only put a couple pieces of paper in it at a time, so never have any get stuck. Not sure how well it would hold up with heavy use, but it's great for home or light use. It will shred credit cards and discs, but I haven't used it much for that. Would be nice if you could use a bag with it, but it's easy to empty and wipe out. I would definitely buy it again if mine ever dies on me.

Great product!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had to replace our old shredder so I researched replacements and found this Insignia 10-sheet microcut shredder. It's everything a household needs in a shredder! It cuts paper in small bits and doesn't hesitate at all when shredding credit cards and CD/DVDs. I believe my husband hunts for items to shred just so he can use it - and he suggested we offer shredding services for free within our neighborhood just so he can watch it work! And the price - it was fantastic, as well. I highly recommend this shredder!

Good Micro-cut Shredder
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Oh it removed the years of clutter and useless "to-shred" paperwork from my home in like 2 days. Works really well if within range, says 10 sheets but to be safe try 7-8 sheets, due to the thickness and alignment 10 may not work all the time. For an average household shredding it's a gr8 micro shredder for the price. Like the rollout basket.
